I spent 2 nights here for my birthday as a treat to myself because Im homeless and I didnt want to sleep in my car in the cold. Ever since I stayed at one hotel that just so happen to have a bed bug infestation, anytime I stay at a hotel I now bring catchmasters (home pest traps) just incase. This time I stayed here there was multiple bugs on the 2 traps I put on each side of the room. I emailed choice rewards since I just so happen to be a rewards member. They first offered me 2k in points which there arent many choice hotel locations besides this particular location so I said I want a full refund back to the card I used to book my 2 night stay because the 2k points wouldnt realy benifit me. I also told them they can deduct the points I earned for those 2 nights but that I really need my 200$ refunded back to my card asap. The only other thing that they offered was a refund of only $30 in check form and I would have to wait for it in the mail. Which is a significant differance from the $200 I originally spent. In my oppinion thats extreemly unreasonable. Also their breakfast wasnt as the website hyped it up to be they didnt even have butter for the waffles or for the bread and didnt have much hot food let alone variety (eggs bacon ect.). They arent following health codes and I will be contacting the health bored. Ill be showing them the same pictures of my bug traps and how the situation was handled very poorley by sending them a copy of the emails and ill also be going to the town and even osha. Not only did I notice these bugs but I spent my money doing laundry here. Not only did I wipe down their out dated washer and dryer with my own washer and dryer wipes but I even washed the washer with tide washer cleaner to make sure my clothes came out clean. Unfortunately the end result was the opposite. For the price I payed this is unexceptable if theres going to be unwanted guests crawling around my hotel room. I dont understand how they can be so heartless to a 24 year old homeless girl who just wanted to treat herself to a CLEAN hotel room and sleep comfortably and actually get to shower and an opportunity to do laundry to have clean clothes let alone have a decent breakfast for the first time in months!! Especially considering the fact I have stayed at this location more times than I can keep track of. Im still very dissapointed by the fact I still havent gotten a response back from my last email as well as some kind of reasonable compensation. I deffinately dont recomend anyone stay here and I MOST DEFFINATELY WONT BE...
Read moreThe absolute worst hotel I have ever stayed at. Where do I even begin. We chose this hotel because it was within 10 minutes of a family member we were visiting but I will be looking else where whenever we are back. As soon as we walk in to check in there is music blaring in the lobby so loud that every guest had to lean over the counter and scream just to be heard or to listen to anything the receptionist was saying. After finally getting checked in we go to our rooms and one of them smelled so bad it was nauseating to breathe. It was a mixture of cigarettes and mold in the air and the windows were unable to be opened at all. We demanded another room and were put on the next floor which smelled just as bad. On top of the smell we had a terrifying encounter with another guest who had a room at the end of the hall and would stand halfway in his door staring at the vending machines. My sister walked down to get ice alone and was stopped by this man who was being very predatory. When I came out to find them she was crying and he RAN away. I went to the lobby to report the incident and the fact that our new room still smelled awful and there was the man making a scene and screaming the most bizarre things in the lobby at midnight. I had to scream at the receptionist to explain anything because the Macarena was playing so loud in the lobby at 12:00 at night I could hardly hear my own thoughts all while I’m being called racist and a threat by the stranger behind me. At this point we did not feel safe and our rooms were so absolutely disgusting that I wanted a refund and we were leaving that night after only being there a few hours. After talking with his manager on the phone and writing down every detail of my complaints we were promised a full refund for both rooms for both nights, and then we left. Days later I have not received a refund and will be disputing the charge with my bank. When we called to complain about the lack of the promised refund the worker on the phone told us “I’m not supposed to tell you this, but call your bank and get a charge back.” I understand that the creepy man was not necessarily the fault of the hotel but I was lied to about getting my money back and the entire place was absolutely disgusting. Read moreThis Quality Inn is not only some excellent lodging for the money, but in the Parsippany area, it just might be a lifesaver.
Let me explain...
As a project manager for a retail construction company part of my responsibilities include arranging lodging for my various teams and I.
Like with everything else, we've a budget for hotel rooms which unfortunately doesn't include enough funds for stays at the Ritz.
I like to house our people as close to the job site as possible, and so the first place I had us at, a Days Inn in Parsippany proper, was the absolute worst lodging experience I've had, and we left there after only 2 nights.
This Quality Inn is 30 minutes away from the new Floor & Decor store we're working, which is much farther away than I would have preferred - but it's the closest nice place that fits the budget.
Ordinarily I have to book rooms at least a few weeks in advance, as there aren't always properties in the areas where we work that can accommodate a large group of people at a moments notice.
So, I was scrambling to fix the horrible situation we started off at in the Days Inn Parsippany, and was thrilled to see what looked like a nice enough place that was willing to make room for us.
Determining which hotels are nice enough, and which aren't, isn't easy and usually comes down to online reviews - many of which aren't legitimate or recent.
So, there's always a chance the place you thought would be nice enough, will turn out to be anything but - which you won't know until it's too late.
Anyway, this Quality Inn we're at now is plenty nice enough, their staff are all competent and friendly (a rarity in New Jersey), the rooms are plenty nice enough, the breakfast is hot and "real" as opposed to the grab and go scene at another brand our people like, and there's even a restaurant (with a bar) on site (also a rarity at this price point).
If you ever find yourself in need of lodging in and around Parsippany NJ, first - you have my sympathy for having to inhabit this state for any length of time, but more importantly, you can't go wrong with...
