We stayed on a Tuesday night in mid-April 2025.
We paid the extra for 2PM check-in and everything went smoothly. We booked the Loft Suite for 2 adults and 3 kids.
Vicky called us the day before to check on our reservation and asked about food allergies for our kids and how they wanted us to make the room. There is a murphy bed and the one lounge chair also converts into a bed. There were robes available for all the kids and they were excited.
When we arrived check-in was a breeze and we got a tour and history of the main house as well as the suite. Super fun and friendly hosts. We parked right next to the converted barn (our loft suite which is to the left and the granary suite is to the right. The turn into the Inn is at the bottom of a hill so go slow when approaching.
After we unloaded we did take a hike over to the falls and it's super close. It was really cool and also the loop trail runs right by the Inn. There is a bit of elevation on the trail.
The room itself was super nice. See our photos. They provided teas/coffees/cookies and also popcorn. There is a microwave and mini fridge. They also provided two Duralogs to burn. There were only 2 matches provided but good thing we've good with fire starting. The suite was very clean from our perspective and what it really is. The renovations were very well done. It exceeded all our expectations. The most annoying thing was the floor boards up stairs were VERY squeaky and we were constantly concerned we'd wake the kids up just walking around. There was plenty of outlets all around and the view out the back was nice even though it looked at the drive way. We were concerned about privacy but that was never an issue. The windows in the bathroom are also nice because you can sit in the jetted tub and look out. There is a limited amount of hot water so if you have multiple people who want to use it, be prepared to take turns and let the hot water reheat. The shower was also great with good water pressure. We couldn't have asked for more and the price was fair for what we got.
We didn't have the best weather at our visit (cold and rainy) but we made the best of it. We wish we could've afforded to stay more than 1 night but this was a splurge for our family road trip and we were glad we did it. It allowed us to spend more time in the Loft Suite than we were planning but also using the wood stove and just enjoying a nice quiet relaxing evening. Also the lights out back were perfect for night light ambiance. Very romantic for just a couple.
Lisa and Vicky served all of us breakfast along with the other guest. We weren't quite mentally ready to eat with all the other guest but it made sense for a bed and breakfast style lodging. We all had great conversations. We ate with 3 other groups 2 couples and a solo traveler. The food was VERY good. We had yogurt parfait and pancakes and egg tart with sweat potato hash browns. See photos.
We were a little concerned about the cats as myself and the kids are very allergic but we didn't have any problems the entire time. There was some sneezing in the suite but nothing too much more than normal. It was also spring and the pollen was starting to come out.
If you're thinking about staying, just do it. You won't regret it. We would gladly return and maybe next time without the kids. We heard our neighbors in the granary suite maybe once or twice the entire time. Hopefully they did not hear our...
Read moreWe had such a magnificent experience staying at the Inn! My husband and I are native Clevelanders who moved to California in 2020. We came back to have our wedding on October 8, 2023 which was at Happy Days Lodge in the CVNP. As we are avid nature lovers, the Inn seemed like the PERFECT place to spend our wedding night (and the night after). We were able to book the Granary - a private suite - and our fateful canine companion Sampson was also able to stay with us (which was very important to me).
When we arrived, we met Vicki who is one of two women who took over operations at the Inn that year. She welcomed us with another older couple who were celebrating an anniversary. The Inn has such a rich history, and hearing about it and the development of the surrounding area made it even more special to us! Vicki was so wonderful and I hope to keep in touch with her for years to come - and visit the Inn again next time we make it to the Midwest!
The next morning my husband and I enjoyed in-room dining and we took a hike with Sampson in the gorge that is right next to the property. It concluded at the falls, which we had listened to the evening before, and it was such a beautiful sight! I loved being able to hop on a trail right from the property without having to drive anywhere.
I loved meeting a few of the other guests who were staying in rooms in the main part of the Inn, and the entire staff was warm and welcoming. Most notable was Mittens, the orange tabby cat with an excellent disposition - he even let Sampson get nose to nose for a greeting!
I highly recommend the Inn for anyone who is looking for a refreshing stay in the national park. You have the option to enjoy the beautiful surroundings, with or without company! Relaxing and refreshing, we could not have chosen a better venue for our post-wedding...
Read moreThe Inn is literally a short few minutes walk to see the famous Brandywine Falls of Cuyahoga Valley National Park, as well as the gorge trail and other connecting trails. So if you want to be immersed in the beauty of the park, as well as a historic site, this is it! I stayed in the Granary with one of my friends, as part of a business/part vacation trip for teaching. You definitely feel like you step back in time with the wood floor, brick wall area, along with various barn elements and tools to decorate the space. I slept in the loft space. The bed was soft and spacious. I felt like I could potentially be claustrophobic from the pictures I saw online beforehand but I did not feel that at all in person. Definitely spacious! The roof was higher than I anticipated upstairs. My friend Sue slept on the futon bed on the lower level. She said it was comfortable as well. I loved the high ceiling and big windows in the living room area that looks out at some small bushes, trees and a grassy area. When we arrived, there were two muffins on a glass plate under a glass cover on the little dining table. I also ordered a charcuterie board as a treat and dinner since I knew we would be later from driving. Really delicious-olives, melon, cherries, sliced cheese and meats, crackers and cranberry goat cheese. I made friends with Bolt, the black and white cat. She loved to be petted! In the morning, we were served the traditional two course breakfast with Lexi and Dawn. It included vanilla yogurt with fruit and homemade granola, and a hot egg bake. Hearty meal to start the long drive back to Wisconsin. The hospitality from Lexi and Dawn was first rate.I should add. I enjoyed the tour and info with Lexi when I arrived. I wish I had the opportunity to stay longer. It was...
