Allow me to start by saying that this is not my first rodeo with reviewing. I review places that are either severely underwhelming and disappointing or exceedingly exceptional. Let’s just say that SkyBeach Hotel & Marina was definitely the latter! Marina (the concierge extraordinaire) called me by name every single time we spoke! She made customer interactions personal and inviting! It is evident that they are in-sync with each other and produce a great working environment! Beatrice transitions smoothly into the evening shift knowing everything from what was discussed prior. As someone in the leadership workforce, it is evident when communication is efficient within a team. The Skybar had some of the BEST drinks I have ever had in my 21+ adult life! I told the bartenders exactly the flavors that were suited for my husband and I and they executed them perfectly! One bartender even modified my drink with a random idea that I tried to merge from another drink and WOW it was phenomenal! I like drinks more on the fruity/sweeter side and my husband likes drinks more on the bitter side. We were amazed! The food at The Salty Pelican was amazing! Please try the tangy hot honey ranch sauce. So delicious! They have two pools on-site and a jacuzzi. One of the pools is heated and feels like a very warm bath. We came here in January to escape our hometown’s winter frost for a bit and let me just say, it was worth every drawn-out hour on the interstate. The rooms itself are as pictured. They are not “lavish” but definitely better than some of the hotels in the surrounding area. They were clean and we could not hear any neighboring rooms. Some rooms are updated to a more modern finish but we stayed in the deluxe waterview room which didn’t have many updates but the view was impeccable! I only say they are not “lavish” now because they are still renovating a lot, post hurricane; but I know that once everything is complete, nothing in the area will be able to compete! They have prime location off of the interstate, great parking, comfortable rooms, delicious food, lots of amenities and activities, exceptional customer service, and the list goes on. Honestly, the constructive notes I gave is just me “looking for something” and once everything is post reno, this spot will be a main choice of interest starting Spring/Summer 2025. SO BOOK NOW! I absolutely loved how convenient it was to have the room key app so I could open my door with my phone! They also make communication to guest services easy from a website on your mobile device as well! I would recommend the cabanas to get cleaned more frequently, however, it is understandable when having high traffic for them to get dirty fairly quickly. The resort grounds/outdoor area were kept clean and serene. Fresh towels were readily available for guests at the pool area. Resort employees were seen and accessible around the entire property at all times! Short to say, we will be back hopefully every few months and are so very grateful for Marina and Beatrice! You guys are the dream team. Please just assign us our own designated room, because you will be seeing our faces again soon! Seni Seviyorum!
Update: I am extremely saddened to have to check-out! I am so grateful to Marina, Beatrice, and Analies for helping me extend my impromptu trip and making it a time to remember!!!! You guys are the ABSOLUTE best! 5 stars across the board!!!! Please lock in my rates for the future, hahaha because I know this resort has nothing but bigger and better...

We decided to stay in St Pete for 2 days before going to Anna Maria Island for a week. Sky Beach hotel was opened for business and the resort looked amazing so we booked 2 days there which came to 303.46. We arrived around 2:00 p.m. from the airport and decided to check out the resort and the bar. The bar was open and we were starving. They are a credit only facility which was no big deal but they swipe your credit card before ordering to start a tab. Not a big deal, we ordered food and one drink and got the bill. To our surprise they automatically attach 18 percent gratuity onto the bill and then you are allowed to tip extra if you want. Not a deal breaker but still a surprise. I'm a bartender so of course I'm going to leave more but wanted the general public to know this. By then it was 3:00 and time to check in or at least we thought. None of the first floor rooms were available for use from damage from the Hurricanes. We went to the office to check in and our room was not ready. The lady at the desk told us to feel free to check the resort out and it should be ready soon. We had already done that so we went back for another drink. Soon after, it was almost 4:00 now and the room was still not ready. Mind you, it was not busy and hardly no one was there. We decided to run to the store to pick a couple things up. When we returned, it was around 5:00 p.m. and it was still not ready, long story short we were finally able to check in at 5:30. They never offered any kind of discount, a free beverage at the bar, no complimentary anything for our wait. The room was nice, beds uncomfortable and no coffee makers in the rooms. We spent the next day by the pool and had buckets of seltzers at the pool which was convient. We went to cash out and my husband brought me the receipt which had extra drinks of Bacardi on our tab which was not ours. I asked the bartender Nick to void them and refund us for them. I thought he did just that but come to find out, he had only voided 1 drink off. By this time the next day I was ready to leave and move on to our vacation. I was getting ready to check out and found out they had just charged me again the full amount of the room. I'm upset and over being at this establishment. They swore up and down that they had only charged me once. I showed them my account where clearly they had charged me the day we got there for the full 2 days and then again when we were leaving. No one but them had my card numbers, not priceline or any website. They gave me a receipt for the one charge and told me I would have to talk to my bank. I'm now leaving and out 303.46 at the start of my vacation. I called my bank that Monday and they said it was a clear charge from the hotel and I could dispute it but it would take 90 days. I spent the next two days arguing with the desk lady and the manager which did not speak very good English and they could have cared less. They wanted nothing to do with helping and just kept repeating that the first charge was insufficient funds maybe. Even after I showed them I was double charged on my account. It was an awful stay and 1 thing after another. The construction going on during our stay and confusion made it even worse. They reopened way to early and we suffered from it but they do not care about their customers. Don't...
Read moreI normally don't write reviews but this used to be one of my favorite hotels and hope that it will be again one day. I know you just reopened but there are a few things I would like to recommend in hopes it will help your business and entice me to come back with my friends. There was a large group of us that stayed in several rooms and that is normally how we do it as we all come with our boats and stay over 3 day holiday weekends. Let me first say it was not organized with the boat slips. It is unethical to have a first come first serve business with boat slips. As an example my friend parked his boat in a slip, went out boating the first day and came back to find his spot taken which he paid for. The second day he went out and came back to find his rope setup gone. When brought to the attention of security and management nothing ever panned out for a reimbursement and my friend left minus ropes. The first morning when getting breakfast it was noticed that employees were also in line in front of me getting breakfast. Not professional. When speaking to personnel walking around grounds or even in the breakfast area/room I noticed when I said Hello or Good Morning I was given the cold shoulder. We arrived late the first night as we came after work on Friday and by the time we put our bags in room and walked down to meet everyone at bar for a drink and a quick bite or snack as we had not eaten in the rush of trying to get to you the time was 10pm and we were told by bartender food service was closed. I would like to recommend you keep your food service in bar open perhaps one hour later so those of us rushing to you can grab some dinner or snack if needed. I was told by a manager that you were striving to make your a hotel as a one stop destination. Where you could get everything you needed without leaving. Not true. Also breakfast closed at 9am. Who gets up that early when taking a vacation. It would be nice if you could leave it open until 10:30am at least. The abundance of security walking around did not make me feel safe but more uncomfortable. Why such a big need for security for a nice family getaway? The prices for food and drink were overpriced. The food truck food was not the best. Ordered the key lime pie after a long day of boating in sun hoping to satisfy that sweet craving and found it tasted like cardboard. If you are going to charge the prices you are asking please look into the food service. We ended up going out to eat for dinner at night due to the quality of food you were serving. Please provide an iron/iron board in every room. It is a big inconvenience to have to contact you to bring an iron when you are in a hurry to go somewhere.Your property is beautiful and I especially liked the lights at night and the music you had set up. You did a great job on the renovations and I slept well due to the comfortability of your new rooms. Bed was nice and air was cool! I am sure I will be back but am planning our labor day weekend getaway somewhere else. Thank you for listening and I am sorry if this review was a little hard. I just want to have you as another nice place to go when we want a cool getaway! I hope my review...
