Overall our stay at the Inn was good. Tina & Dean were friendly and had lots of good recommendations! They sat up our stay airbnb style instead of bed & breakfast as this is what worked best for us since this was a work trip. We had everything we needed as far as the normal stuff and the inn was very clean. We also had items to cook, grill, and make a fire pit. We were here for 2 weeks and over time there were a few things that we thought people should be aware of when staying here.. These aren't necessarily cons. Just things we think people would like to know. -People next door as this is typically a b&b. It is duplex style living. This means not much privacy at times. -Small pantry entrance- we had to turn sideways to get in and out but we made it work and it was nice to have a spot to put items as we cooked a lot. -AC units are not put in until it's 80°. They did set up a house fan while we were there and also put ended up putting in units towards the end of our stay once we asked. We stayed cool for the most part. -No tv's in rooms. We had 4 people and 1 tv. We managed as part of our group worked late so by time they got in it was showers, dinner, then bed. -Usually we don't unpack but since we were there for 2 weeks we decided to. Some of the dresser drawers were filled with a lot of extra linens and blankets. There are closets available for use and these were cleaned out.
We would stay again if we were...
Read moreI needed a place to stay while riding the Grand Illinois Trail It was late Oct. & the weather was supposed to be amazing so I really wanted to camp (& be able to shower). The Channel Lake State Park was far off the trail (in bike distance). I emailed Tina & she said they would let me camp in the backyard of the Inn (3 miles off the trail), allow me to shower, use their bathroom, had a fire pit AND Dean would cook me breakfast in the morning for a minimal cost. When I arrived, Tina met me on the driveway. I forgot to stop & get cash but she simply emailed me a paypal invoice I was able to pay (I'd have to ride back up quite a few hefty hills to get to a cash station). She put my bike in her garage, we walked into the backyard, Dean ALREADY HAD A CAMPFIRE waiting for me and left me tons of wood. I very much enjoyed staying there. It was safe, quiet, even rained, and I had access to the bathroom throughout my time there. I sat by the campfire, read & relaxed just as I wanted to. I didn't stay inside but they have 2 nice bedrooms and a large kitchen area with some sweets available to me- very clean. In the morning, Dean made pancakes & bacon to fuel me up before I rode back...
Read moreMy husband, my best friend, and I stayed at the Inn at Lake Elizabeth the night prior to our Muderella run. We loved how quaint and charming the Inn is and how close it was to our event. ||||We were greeted by Tina and her husband, who were extremely attentive and friendly. They helped us find an amazing restaurant for our "carb up" night, and were genuine and caring. The morning of our run, a breakfast for a king was served and we were so grateful for the feast! ||||When some unforeseen circumstances led us to return to the Inn completely covered in mud and grime, we were met with nothing but help and understanding. Tina provided robes and towels, buckets and soap, and so much more. There were no worries about the mess and we were again taken care of. ||||We will absolutely return to the Inn and would recommend it anyone who seeks a peaceful and hassle free...
