We stayed at this campground for a week and I'm not quite sure why it gets so many bad reviews. We camp often and have been many places and this campground is by far one of our top stays. We read many reviews about poor bathrooms, poor cell signal, poor service, but we have experienced none of it. First off the bathrooms are not great but not terrible either. They are old and dated but clean. We have seen many others that were way worse, so it's not as bad as the reviews say. Yes cell signal is nonexistent here. That includes the attraction side of the park too. There is wifi and it's coverage isn't perfect but works well enough. We never had a problem. In fact I'm writing this review on their wifi. We also didn't have any problems with staff, in fact they were all really helpful and polite. As far as the campground itself goes it's pretty nice. Sites have plenty of space between them and were well kept and clean. I saw the staff cleaning out fire pits after each guest left and saw them cleaning the restrooms each day. It's also a short walk to the other side of the lake where all the attractions are. There's lots of stuff for the kids to do and it's really pretty cheap too. Again I have to say it's one of our top places we have stayed at. We will probably come back again.

Our first trip to Dan Nicholas campground will for sure be our last. There is no cell reception anywhere around the park, nor anywhere near Salisbury. You pretty much need to find your way into town to get any service at all. The WiFi in the park is horrendous and barely works. All of the roads are 2-way and aren’t wide enough for two campers, unless one pulls over and the other slowly gets by. We drove through the park 4 times trying to find our campsite, passing another camper in the same situation. There aren’t signs anywhere to show you campsite numbers and it’s a legit guessing game… if you like being lost and confused with no cell service, this is probably the park for you.

The park and campgrounds were beautiful. The staff were friendly. The bathhouses really needed cleaning. I was there only early in the morning and the floors were very dirty in the shower area. They were very small with only 2 stalls and two sinks but thankfully the showers had doors that locked which I really was grateful for. I rented a cabin and it was clean and cozy. I enjoyed this campground and would definitely come back again!

We went to spend the weekend at Dan Nicholas Park Campground this past Friday. We called and called to register plus tried to register online. Which a lot of people where having problem to register. We went to the campground to register at the office no one was there at 4:45pm on Friday. As u go in the campground if they haven't took it down since we brought to their attention. It said if no one is in the office to go ahead and set up and pay the next morning. We set up camp and myself went to the office to pay on Saturday. The gentleman that was working said we could not stay there he said supervisor would be in to wait to pay. When she came in the gentleman and the supervisor came to our campsite. We were told to leave because we did not register. We kept telling her how sorry we where. She was so rude and being loud.. She told us to pay $30 and leave and we said we would. We was never loud or rude to her in no way.We are Christian's and we treat people the way we want to be treated and that is Good. I will pray 🙏 for her. That will be the last time we would ever camp there because the way we was treated. No one and I mean no one should go...

We have been camping here every year for 30 years and never had a problem booking sites or anything. However, last year would unfortunately be our last, as we were told to call in January about our normal sites availability and we would be on a waiting list and our spots would be HELD! we camp in a group so we all used to get sites close together so we could have all sorts of fun. However, when my mother called, the lady in the office said she called them in November and never heard back from them, my mom had no missed nor received calls from the campground and they sold my parents spot out from under them. She also stated that she spoke to my husband on Nov 21 and claimed he said he would call back to pay.... My husband has no missed nor received calls from the campground either, and surprisingly our site was sold out from under us as well. The rest of the park is great! But, we will no longer be...
