Good enough hotel. We generally like Home2 Suites. Location is overall pretty convenient, right on I-80 at the base of Parley's Canyon, leading to Park City. Sandwiched tightly between a gas station and a Wal-Mart. Parking was tight. The main lots on the E side of the building don't hold a lot and were full by the time we arrived, leaving us to park down by the Wal-Mart on the W side. There's no elevator if you park down there, just a lot of stairs (not a big deal, as I only take stairs, but it's maybe less convenient for many). The room was clean, the view from the 4th floor is impressive, and the breakfast wasn't great but certainly wasn't terrible. The staff at this location never came off as being overly friendly. We were never greeted when we arrived (had already checked in on the app but didn't even get a "hello"), when my wife called the front desk about getting a crib (because we forgot ours) the guy seemed less than excited to have to get one, and overall I wouldn't describe any of the staff we encountered as particularly "warm." The younger girl at the desk shortly after we arrived was helpful, though. It wasn't stormy but there was a lot of wind noise in our room on the 4th floor, NW corner. Also, the biggest downside, was that the heat didn't seem to be working in our room. We didn't think much of it, but at one point the thermostat was set to 74 (for our baby) and my wife was still shivering. It was so cold we ended up pulling our baby into the bed with us. Using a thermostat isn't rocket science, so I'm pretty confident there was something wrong. Overall a pretty adequate hotel stay. It wouldn't be my first option in the valley, but I'd never hesitate to stay here again.

We came here as a staycation we received through Utah Foster Care. We checked in day before Halloween. They had the room decorated so cute and with a few goodies for our kiddos. Aside from the little extras for the cause/nature of our staycation, there are things I really want to point out. The staff at the breakfast bar were so friendly, helpful and very kind. My 10 year old twins wanted to swim, since I was the only adult present for the day, our 8 month old foster baby had to come with us. She needed a nap but I couldn’t leave my kids unattended. As you know if you’ve ever used an indoor pool, you know they are hot and stuffy with all the heat and moisture. ( I was dying of heat/sweating) So I moved a lounger near a door, put baby in our portable bassinet, and I used a pool towel to prop the door open for some fresh air. I was a little worried I may get told where I had the lounger was a fire hazard and needed to move it, or maybe that with the pool the doors had to be kept closed since there are rooms right down the hall. About 10 minutes after sitting here, a gentleman came down to the door, I thought for sure I was going to have to move, but instead, he had a wooden block and asked if he could prop the door open even more, especially since I had a baby on the lounger with me. No words can express the gratitude I have for our entire stay AND the extra effort that has gone into it for our stay to be special and comfortable. I will DEFINITELY be coming here for our own planned and paid for staycations! The rooms are great, have everything we could need and best of all, Walmart in walking distance, right behind, for anything we may need grocery wise!!

I stay almost-exclusively within the Hilton family when traveling. Enough that I stayed here for two nights only on points/rewards. They have never disappointed. This stay did not meet the standard. The pool was closed. I get that things happen, but I feel it wouldn’t be that difficult to communicate that. I had chatted through the app with the hotel prior to check-in. When prompting you to choose a room, they could mention the pool is closed during our reservation. I chose a room close to the pool to enjoy the amenity, and I’m just bitter that I didn’t know until walking passed the pool that the pool was closed by the county health department. The first floor hallways had an oder, possibly due to the pool? The A/C unit worked great! I love a cold room and it let you set it as low as 60 but was excellent at 64! Unfortunately it was not clean on our arrival. See the photos. I could’ve asked them to come clean, but shouldn’t have to ask for that, you know? The first floor entry, which is not the main entrance was also unkept. See photo. The main entrance had guests hanging out on the hotel furniture, which is fine, but they were smoking excessively very close to the front door which made the entire entrance smell of smoke. The shower mixer valve hot/cold was reversed, which may or may not be a safety hazard, but it wouldn’t be that difficult to correct or at least label it. There was no label. The front desk did give us a couple cold waters at check in which was appreciated. The bed was very comfortable. The location is excellent to get to Park City or Salt Lake. Unfortunately that is not enough to have us stay at this location again.

This stay was due to a family member having medical care at the University of Utah Medical Center. I was a bit concerned due to the bad reviews on Trip Advisor but I also know that some people are never happy and just like to complain, whereas not too many people will say anything if it's a positive experience. ||We stayed at the hotel for six nights. ||The room has a full sized refrigerator/freezer, microwave/oven combo, dishwasher, plates, and utensils for the kitchen, to include a toaster, which we didn't use. We didn't use the dishwasher but there was dish soap available, that we used since we didn't have too many items that needed to be cleaned. ||We had a king sized bed and while there were only three pillows on the bed, we found a couple more in one of the cabinets that was in a plastic bag that also contained a blanket and sheets for the couch. The pillows could use a bit more 'fluff' but we each had two pillows, so we were able to double up on them. ||The bathroom has a shower with full sized shampoo and conditioner attached to the wall. I used both and was happy with the results. My hair was soft, not sure if it was due to the shampoo/conditioner or the water is much better than where I currently reside. The bathroom also has a hair dryer and full sized lotion and hand soap also attached to the wall. They didn't have any liquid body soap, so I used the solid hand soap that was next to the sink. The only negative was the exhaust fan was a bit noisy and the shower head could be replaced but the water temperature and pressure was still good. ||The tv was good and had a lot of channels, to include HBO and all cable/satellite channels. We didn't use the pool but seemed nice, it was heated too.||There is parking directly in front of the hotel and between a coffee shop. If you're not able to find parking, you may need to park on the side of the road or behind the hotel, which is near Walmart. There are also three spots if you need to charge your vehicle. ||There isn't any restaurants nearby but you could go downtown or south, near the shopping center(Fashion Place, about 20 minutes south, off 215), that has numerous restaurants such as Cheesecake Factory, PF Chang, Olive Garden, a brewery, Japanese restaurant, etc. For those of you from the California/Nevada area, Salt Lake City does have at least three In & Outs that you could eat at, if you're hungry for a burger and shake, or animal style fries!! They do have breakfast and while we don't eat there daily, you could pick up some sandwiches to go. There was also a waffle maker that had delicious smelling waffles whenever we walked past it in the lobby to our car.||I didn't hear too much noise from the hallway but did hear car noise since S Foothill is a main road on the side of the hotel. It can be hard to exit the hotel to Foothill Street in the mornings or afternoon, so adjust your time if you need to be somewhere. ||We had a positive stay at the hotel and would...

NOTE: THIS REVIEW REFLECTS THE CONDITION OF THE HOTEL over a month ago, in early July 2021, It was 4th of July weekend, admittedly a hectic time. We hope conditions have improved due to several emails we sent to the manager, Loren.

Driving across the country from San Francisco to Philadelphia early last July, we have seen quite a lot in lodging from AirBNBs to hotels. Cleanliness is of primary importance to us. We initially opted to stay at Hilton brand hotels exclusively; we found Home2Suites in Elko Nevada, and had an excellent experience there. Not so in Salt Lake City, Utah. We spent one night there, unfortunately arriving too late to find other accommodations. The general reception area was chaotic and dirty, the front desk overwhelmed and running about; we should’ve taken that as a bad sign. Up a very loud, clunky elevator with filthy floors (management said, “It’s fine, it passed inspection,”) to our room, we immediately noticed a number of problems that we found most unsanitary: used soap in the shower, toilet seat up with a slight yellow color to the water, dirty plates, stained furniture and more evidence in photos later provided to management – and all of this inside a room with a “sanitary seal“ on it. We asked the manager/someone in charge to come up and help. He was clearly overwhelmed and looked around and put some Windex on one of the dirty mirrors but didn’t seem too concerned with the level of cleanliness - or rather dirtiness - that we were concerned with. He wiped some crumbs off the dishwasher, flushed the toilet and literally, said almost nothing. No apologies were made. We found quite a few more problems after he left. We slept in our clothes and with our own pillows and are checked out as soon as possible the next day. I avoid posting negative reviews as much as possible. I try to work with people on site, to give wonderful service employees and companies a chance to rectify any shortcomings. God knows, we all need the grace. This time, however - I felt it was warranted and necessary, especially after no action was taken by the manager (even after a month and several polite email promptings) and in light of an ongoing pandemic, or rather, brave new world in which cleanliness truly is more important than ever – with or without COVID. We encourage management at this Hilton Home2Suites in Salt Lake City to speak directly to the cleaning crew about this most unsanitary experience. Please consider giving some of your overworked and overwhelmed staff more support. The conditions in this hotel from the rooms to the common spaces were far from adequate. This room was unfit for guests who have any interest at all in being in a sanitary...

This is the worst hotel experience I have ever experienced. Bordering feeling very ILLEGAL, EXPLOITATIVE, EXTORTION AND PROFILING. We stayed here for two nights and with 15 minutes of checking out my husband and I were charged $250 for a smoking fee which is completely false. We believe we were charged because we were profiled for the way we look. We drove back to the hotel to dispute the charge within an hour of check out. While on the phone on the drive back Head of Housekeeping , MARY, started screaming and yelling at us YOU DID DRUGS. She was very hostile and rude while we were very calm and confused. The clerk and Mary and my husband and I all walked back to the room and agreed it did not smell of smoke, but Mary said it’s because she propped the hall door open. The clerk agreed it smelled like marijuana the night prior - which was during the hours we were gone. We asked they check our key card activity - and we were indeed gone during the accused time of it smelling like weed. We even provided dinner receipts, dessert receipts and our work itinerary that had us away from the hotel during the confirmed time of it smelling. For delaying our travel plans a few hours for driving back to the hotel to dispute, the time gathering receipts to prove we’re innocent of something we did not do, calling several days all to never be connected to the manager of the property, it feels like we are being EXTORTED because we were PROFILED for our appearance. Mary, the clerk working and my husband and I all stood in the room and agreed it did not smell like smoke within the hour of our check out. How can we prove our innocence for something we did not do? This feels highly illegal, unfair and stereotypical for our appearance. This is financially hurtful to my husband and I . We travel and stay In hotels 150 days a year and are Hilton honor members and I have never been treated so poorly, yelled at and treated hostile for a false accusation. The feels as though this our only recourse and important for the safety of their customers. I wonder if the clerk working the night it smelled like weed would not do anything about it due in that time? This is all so insane and unfair...
