We found South Shore after the tornado last year, looking for a new place to get catfish. We knew we found our new restaurant after Lakeview was destroyed. We met the owner that day and he was so friendly that when we decided to come to Reelfoot for a mini vacation we came here. We haven’t been disappointed. We stayed 4 nights and rented a boat for 1 day. Coming to Samburg and South Shore is very much worth the short drive from the state park and Tiptonville area. It’s a quiet resort with nice, friendly staff and a beautiful view. Also has a great restaurant, The Boat House, on site! Get a map and go exploring around the area. There is a lot to see!

Amazing across the board. Me and my two friends have never fished Reelfoot until this weekend. Took a chance and booked with Southshore and we were blown away. The kindness from the owners and all the workers was above and beyond our expectations. Our cabin was clean and perfect for a weekend trip or a week trip. Breakfast at the Boathouse was great. Boat ran great and was very comfortable for the three of us. We caught a crazy amount of fish. This place will be a yearly trip for us for many years to come!

Ate at the Boathouse the first time tonite. Always been a"Lakeview" customer and was so saddened by what happened. My wife passed away about a year ago and I just couldn't get interested in trying a new place. Finally did tonite , the food, service, staff were all great. Really good filets and country ham with the trimmings. I definitely will be a repeat customer. The sunset view was also fabulous

Our group of duck hunters has been staying at South Shore Resort for a little over 40 years. It recently changed owners. This year room rates went up about 30%. The room is nice for an older hotel. I wouldn't complain about the increase, but for 40 years we have been able to check out after the close of hunting on our last day. The close is 3:00 pm so we're usually out by 4:00 pm. This year we were informed that from now on we must be out by noon. That means we either check out at 4:00 am when we leave for the blind, or cut our last hunting day 4 hours short on the last day. We find both options distasteful. I can only assume that the new owner feels that duck hunters are no longer of value as a customer base. I wish him luck with his investment and hope that he is able to find new customers that better suit his new business model. Next trip we will be forced to seek accommodations at an establishment that caters to...

This is my second stay at South Shore and will not be my last. I don’t know the history of this property but it’s currently owned by the most friendly husband and wife combo. We were there as part of a camera club to photo birds on the lake and it’s perfect for our needs. Owners are on site and invested to insure our stay was comfortable.||I convinced several others from our club to stay here and they were all very happy. It’s an older property but very clean. Beds were comfortable, a/c cold, hot water in showers. Each room has a full size refrigerator/freezer, a full stove and a microwave.||If you are visiting the lake, there are other options but this is the best bang for the buck. Give them a try and...

We've been going here for 20+ years. Always book the end of stay for the following year. We paid the deposit in January for our April trip. When both Missouri and Tenn. were put on a stay at home order because of the Corona virus we called at the beginning of April to cancel the reservation. We also made reservations for 2021. Was told we had till end of 2020 to use deposit or we lose it... would not put towards 2021. Disputed the charge with cc company and Rick (owner) lied to them and said we were a "no call,no show". Does not give you a contact and also does not tell you that there are no refunds! Beware of this place! They'll take your money and then...
