KQ Ranch RV Resort — Hotel in San Diego Country Estates

I was called by the sales team to come out and see the facility give them an hour and half of my time to receive 20 free camping days after the purchase of my trailer. Unfortunately I can’t give a review of the facility because after driving 3 hours to get here I was turned away.

Ashley called me from their sales team about coming out for a three day camping trip. I informed her that I have a trip to Zion this month and wouldn’t be able to stay. I was told that was no problem that I could just come down and do the hour an half sales pitch and still receive my free camping to try this place out. Cool! So I set it up for the Sunday before my trip because she also informed me it had to be done within a month of purchasing my trailer. Kinda annoying considering I didn’t have much time this month to come by but this place is 2 1/2 hours away and it would be a perfect weekend get away situation for us and I thought it would be worth the inconvenience.

I originally set it up for 12:30 but had contacted her a few days before about moving it to the later time at 2:00 because I had some guest over the night before and wasn’t sure if I would make it in time. Ashley told me no problem and moved me to 2:00. Great! Received a call the day before confirming my time. Confirmed!

We left our house in time to get there by 1:45 according to Apple Maps. We ended up getting stuck behind a motorcycle crash and some slow trucks on the way. The roads are one way for over an hour and windy. With that being said I’m sure it’s common for people to be a little late due to the roads and the amount of trailers taking these windy hills. We called the number on my confirmation email when we realized we were going to be a late and left a message informing them our Apple Maps said we would be about 30 minutes late to our appointment. We called two more times and tried to get ahold of someone with no answer. We finally arrive to the KQ ranch and the lady at the check in has informed us that the sales staff already left and they leave if no one shows up after 15 minutes. She also informed me that the number we were calling was not the number to the facility. Would have been nice to have received that number. We also called the number on google maps but apparently that’s not the number either.

As a business owner myself I understand appointments and how being late can effect your day or other appointments as well as I’m sure people don’t show up to their appointments often. With that being said after 15 minutes I CALL the client to confirm that they are still coming are not just running late. Unfortunately we didn’t receive this courtesy and drove 3 hours to see this facility only to be turned away and drive 3 back. The lady and they check in told me I could come back for three free nights and do it at that time. Oh, so I didnt have to come down within a month of my purchase? Wasted the only day I had before my trip to get things together because I was told I only had a limited amount of time to “activate” my free camping. Shame on me for giving that time. I won’t make that mistake again. Unfortunately I won’t be giving this place my time again and that’s a shame. I was really looking forward to seeing this place. Hopefully they will take something from my review and call the person before just taking off.

Gave two stars because the drive was beautiful and the ranch looked like it would have been...

1st day in and loving this place. Staff is awesome. Pulled up late, they had a spot to park till they opened in morning, rare! Not many places do that. Which is great for those already here and don't need a neighbor to move in at 11:00 pm at night. Was very nice to feel confident that I had a place to drydock till they opened.

Visitor parking area was past the booth, to the left of security gate. Can park there for the night till they open and you wake up. No one came to wake me up, I went as soon as I was ready.

Store is gorgeous and well stocked! Had everything I forgotten.

Pick a spot if you know where you want to be. Or they give you a spot that works for your RV size.

People here/members are all friendly so far.

Has the best dog park I have seen for an RV resort.

Drive up here was nice. But recommend in day time. Was a smooth drive, almost no other traffic at night. Many pie places on the way and around the area. Lots of fresh fruit in area too. Hence the pies.

3rd day in.

Regarding overnight shipping to this facility: Hard to eat. Suffering In pain. Forgot my Oscimin ODT at home. No one else has in stock anywhere except for home pharmacy that don't ship out. Generic version don't work for me. So I sent a friend to USPS to overnight my medication to me. Was supposed to arrive at 12pm with money back guarantee. It is now Sunday morning. No package yesterday. Staff at park being helpful. UPS was on site, and who I should have gone with as they actually deliver to office. I just tracked my priority express overnight package, and now it's sitting in San Diego. USPS offered no help or even a refund. It's a money back guarantee. And with that being only medicine available in state. The quickest thing to do is just wait till Monday. USPS will not help in anyway. Only apologize for giving you problems and no response from local office. Closed. So, do not use USPS for overnight shipping or anything else important. It's an out-of-the-way place which is good for camping but from my location where I live it was more than an hour's Drive they tell you going in no purchase necessary not exactly true they tell you you won prices not exactly true we go up there we listen to their spiel they say here draw card a Walmart shopping card out of this container it's going to be a minimum of $25 value of $200 value not true they give you a brochure for cruise and for airline fare you have to pay to get information on either one each individual pay so you're not getting a cruise for free you have to pay to get the information to get The Cruise for free you have to pay to get the information to get the airline to get to The Cruise for free when you find out that the price for their camping get up that they want to sell you is almost $30,000 but you get a one day special where it's only $10,000 now they realize you can't come up with $10,000 right off the bat so they offer you payment plans if you pay the first $1,400 the day you're there and then it's almost $200 every month for 6 or seven years they point out all the advantages of safe camping good they point out that campgrounds are booked way in advance but not theirs good they point out that campgrounds are getting fewer and farther between which is true but when you go there it's no purchase necessary but if you don't purchase it the day you there you don't get the discount from $10,000 versus $30,000 all in all it's a nice setup but there's nothing for free involved Owen that $25 gift card to Walmart turned out to be a $5 gift card from Walmart I have the receipt from where they check the amount and I still have the unused gift card I am very upset at the fact that I wasted all that time to find out that I wasn't getting anything not even a thank...
