We were at Palm Canyon for 5 days Loved every minute. Marilyn checked us in she was very nice, very helpful and very informative! When I wud see her during our stay she was always asking if we were having a nice time and if we needed anything do not hesitate to call anytime after hours as well. We needed new towels after hours Lalo was delivering towels and coffee packets within a few minutes with a great friendly attitude and a big smile. He was also very nice every time I wud see him during our stay always asking if there was anything we needed. Alberto was very helpful and very nice. I did not know the code to the gym he had a big smile and opened the door for me. All the ladies, I do not know their names but we asked for fresh sheets they were on it right away. One of the ladies was in their laundry room we asked if we cud get an extra pool towel she brought it to us with a big smile offering to take what we asked for to our room. We asked for a variety of items due to being off season and all the ladies were more than happy to do their very best always with a great friendly attitude and a big smile. Everytime we wud see ANY of the staff we were Always greeted with friendly smiles asking if we were having a great time and if we needed anything. Read moreThe first time we stayed here, in October 2020, we LOVED the accommodations and knew we would eventually be back. Last week we finally got to return.
The staff was friendly and communicative with our check-in. Although, it was odd that even though we included a pet on our reservation through their website, nothing was mentioned about an additional fee until we checked in. I had assumed it was included in our rate since I selected the number of people and pets. I even went back to the website to see if I missed it and there wasn't anything UNLESS you scroll all the way down on their homepage and click FAQs, THEN click on "Can I bring my pets with me to Palm Canyon Hotel & RV Resort?" OR when you're booking, and happen to click on the hamburger drop down (3 horizontal lines) and select the Pet Policy option. But it doesn't mention this on their emails (see attached photos) or at anytime during the booking process.
Additionally, on our stay last week we were disappointed in the room. The state of the room was not what we remember. I feel like the last time we stayed here the room felt fresh and clean. This time, it seems old and gross; my guess is maybe some of the rooms have been remodeled and others not? There were gnats all over the vanities, the finishes are somewhat run down, and the towels were not absorbent at all; I think maybe too much fabric softner is used). Additionally, even though there weren't a lot of guests, we were put in a room adjacent to another couple and you could hear everything...
Read moreThis place was a no for me. I found the experience particularly unlikable, so much so that we left a day early. Here's why: their system of assigning spots has some challenges.
We were there at very end of season, so the resort was mostly empty, particularly the back-in spots. We were assigned a spot in a row of 26. There were only four RVs camped in that row of 26. But they crammed three of the four of us side by side. I thought maybe it was a fluke. But then the people on one side of us checked out. As soon as they did, new people checked in, and the resort assigned them to that same spot right beside. To walk down the row, it was surreal to look at -- all three of us crammed together like in a big-city apartment building, while like 22 spots were open. and that was only in our row. So we left.
The back-in spots are reallyl narrow. The slideout for the trailer next to us felt like it was in the middle of our site. Of course, when those people checked in, our site was empty, as were the sites all around them. I'm sure they didn't imagine the resort assigning other campers to the spot right beside them when the vast majority of the back-in sites were open. It was just bizarre.
The resort is also on the highway that comes into town from the mountains. It's loud with highway noise at night, particularly in the spots on the west side of the resort.
The place is nice enough. The bathrooms are super clean, which is great. so there's that. But I don't...
