My stay at this hotel was for two weeks and I booked this place last minute through a travel deals site. The best features of this hotel are that the rooms have a mini kitchen and that it is located near the freeway with access to many local attractions. Also, it offers free breakfast (limited but better than nothing!), free parking, Wifi and laundry service (not free). This is by no means a fancy hotel BUT it is decent for those of us on a budget.
Besides having a coffee maker, the kitchenette includes a fridge, microwave, stove, and dishwasher. These things are good to have if you are traveling with kids and need to wash travel items, warm and keep food cold. I enjoyed having extra storage and a large sink without having to use the bathroom often. There are no utensils, cooking supplies or dishwasher pods provided but there is a Dollar store and Grocery Outlet near by if you need any of those items.
Unfortunately, my room did not have bathtub which was a big deal as I have a small child and wanted to give him baths. The shower was Okay, had glass sliding doors and good water pressure. However, it could look way better if they got rid of the stains on the shower floor. I managed to bathe my child by being creative and it worked out without the bathtub.
The bed was comfortable, we had enough bedding to keep warm and not hot. The pillows were too soft and smaller than the standard size I am used to. One thing I noticed was that the light blanket had a hole like if it was made by a cigarette. There were no stains on the sheets thankfully.
The AC unit worked fine, the curtains kept closed properly for privacy, and the noise level ranged from none to moderate on some days and nights. The room layout was good, it had enough space and the floors were bare but not entirely clean. Our feet got dark from walking barefoot so I recommend wearing shoes or slippers. The TV remote did not work but we didn't bother asking for help since we were not there most of the day.
Our room got cleaned daily and only twice the cleaning ladies did not complete their tasks. One of them did come back to give us the extra towel that was missing which I appreciated. The other day they cleaned we did not receive all the items that are supposed to be replaced daily. Anyway, we were gone most of the time so it was not a big problem.
Lastly, there were some things I noticed that should be fixed promptly so people can enjoy a better stay. First one, whoever did the remodeling did a sloppy job and did not pay attention to detail. The bathroom door could not close easily, the paint from the door was coming off, and there was a gap on the floor diving the bathroom and the bedroom. That is very unsafe for small children since they could trip, fall or put their hands in that part of the floor that shouldn't be open. A corner of the room had a small opening on the wall that got my child's attention. Do not assume others are not going to notice these small but critical things in regards to safety. Overall, we had positive experience but may book...
Read moreI received horrible customer service. When I booked the reservation, three weeks before our visit, I asked about the pool to make sure we could use it when we visited. We had our grandchildren (from Alaska) with us and they were very excited to swim. When I called, the employee told me the pool was available for use. After arriving and going down to swim, we were informed that the pool was not available and had not been for several months while they put up a new permanent fence. What a huge disappointment! This was one of the highlights for my grandchildren to be able to swim.
As we walked the outer halls to our room, the smell of weed in the air was overwhelming. We thought we were at a No Smoking facility, but clearly this was not enforced. Every time we walked the halls the odor was horrible. I had my nine year old grandchildren who were asking what that awful smell was. Not acceptable!!
Next, the room was filthy. There were long dark hairs in the shower and hair on the bathroom sink. The floor had hair on it too. The curtains smelled like cigarette smoke. The microwave was awful. One of the wheels was broken on the part that moves the turntable. When we tried to use the microwave it made loud banging sounds because the bottom was uneven. The refrigerator was so loud when it turned on we could not hear the television. At night when it came on it woke me up.
The final straw was the people in the room next to ours. On the first night they were laughing and playing the television loud into the early morning. I called the desk twice and asked for assistance to have them quiet down. I called at midnight and again at 2 AM. I was told they sent security to the room, but nothing changed.
On the next night, they had a full on party. They were on the balcony/hallway outside in front of our room. They were laughing, talking on their phones and drinking. The room had loud music, laughing and talking until 3AM. I called the desk five times for help. They kept banging on the wall where the head of our beds were. Again, they said they sent security up, but nothing changed. The party went on and on.
On the morning of our check-out we were exhausted and had a seven hour drive home. When I talked to the woman at the front desk about all of these issues, she said she would talk to a manager and call me by 3:00PM that day (Monday, May 31, 2021). I have not heard from her or anyone else. Today is Thursday, June 3, 2021.
I feel we were treated terribly. We paid and expected to be able to swim and have a clean, working room and amenities. We got none of this. The room was not clean. The kitchen amenities either didn't work or were annoyingly loud. This is a no smoking facility that clearly allowed the smoking of marijuana. Finally, we didn't get any sleep and no help from the staff or security.
I will not book with this location ever again. I will also review it on Yelp, Booking.com and anywhere else to...
Read moreMy children and I stayed for 2 nights. The lobby was updated however the outside of the Inn was in need of repair. As we settled into the room, TV service was interrupted and I notified the front desk clerk who quickly sent someone to restore it. I also asked for an extra towel, since my reservation was for 4 and we were only given 3 large towels. The front desk clerk diligently reviewed my reservation to find that the room was indeed reserved for four.
The beds were comfortable as were the pillows. Upon quick inspection with my phone’s flashlight, the sheets appeared clean. The shower was clean and seemed to be remodeled with one glass door that opened at the opposite end of the shower handle and no built-in shelves. One had to place toiletries on the shower floor, step into the shower, turn on the water, hope it wasn’t too hot or too cold, and that she was fast enough to change it before the water, with it’s even stream and good pressure, hit. As I opened a medium towel, hair fell onto the shower floor. Another medium towel had an unknown substance affixed to it. Stepping out of the shower with wet feet onto yet another medium towel activated its stickiness. I decided that my worn tee shirt was cleaner than a towel for drying my more delicate parts, such as my face. While getting my toddler ready for bed, I noticed that his once white socks were now black from walking around the room. A late night trip to the bathroom revealed the horrors that lurked while we slept—cockroaches. It was terminated and I went back to sleep.
The next day, I cleaned the counters and stovetop before cooking breakfast. As I finish cooking, I looked up to find a cockroach waiting patiently to be fed. It was immediately escorted out. Once again, the TV service was interrupted and I spoke with the front desk clerk who directed me to unplug and plug the TV back in. The TV was unplugged and plugged several times throughout our stay. I also asked what time housekeeping would stop by and was told, “Sometime throughout the day.” We left the room and when we returned, two housekeeping carts outside of the room; neither was used to clean our room. I gathered the dirty towels and wastebasket and asked housekeeping for a few replacement bags as I had to empty the wastebasket several times due to its small size and… kids. While my toddler was playing on the bed, I noticed a blood stain on the fitted sheet. I found housekeepers stocking a cart and asked for a broom and a fitted sheet. The broom; half the bristles were bent up and the rest were just bent. One of the housekeepers jokingly asked me if I wanted a cart. I agreed to take one. Sadly, I was not given one.
On our check out day, we checked our belongings for stowaways. We left the Inn prior to check out time for our campsite; where I expect to find...
