I checked in to this motel for a week. The bed was so lopsided it was as if someone set in that same spot for 6 years and a weighed 2000 pounds. The other side of the bed was rock hard. The room smelled like mildew. There was a crack in the sink where I could not even fill it up to shave my face. It was very quiet the first two nights. The third night there was some type of disturbance and when I woke up there was blood all over the property and police everywhere. Needless to say I checked out of there immediately. It's not a nice thing to come out of your roo and there's blood all over the top floor landing, and on your door with crime scene tape everywhere and then have to be interviewed by police about what took place. I'm still waiting on my refund which hasn't come and it's been a week already. I understand things happen at the hotel but this is uncalled for. It's unsafe and an over all bad experience.

I initially booked this motel room because it was close to SDSU and offered free breakfast. Once I walked into the lobby, there was a sign stating that the breakfast room is closed (I’m guessing to renovation). There was also a sign that stated they do not clean the rooms all the time, but if you needed it cleaned to ask. You can tell that the room remained untouched for a while because there were a lot of cob webs on the corner of the ceilings and under the desk chair. The dresser had a lot of paint scratches, the bathroom door was really dirty, the shower would not drain. Last, but not least - sitting on the side of the bed, box spring metal came out and only poked me but it could have been worse, if someone were to put more pressure onto it.

I will definitely be back again. I was here for the Fleet game which is about 5min away from the stadium. I arrived early 12:30 and was able to Check-in with no problem. My room was super clean and a good size. It had a fridge and microwave, everything I needed for my stay. Breakfast is from 6am to 9am and love the waffle maker. There is a swimming pool but didn’t bother because it was too cold. The area is super peaceful near a hiking trail (that I love to do) about two blocks away and close to fwy. Everything is conveniently near by the beach, the border, downtown SD, shopping and the stadium. This is a non smoking building. For the price I paid I will definitely be back👍👍👍 good deal!!

Where do I begin! I stayed in this place between May 28th and May 30th. I almost never complain but this is one place I must warn you about. All rooms open to the outside rather than into a hotel lobby for that matter. This part is uncontrollable from the staff and I must have missed it from previous reviewers. Upon entering the room, I notice the night stand next to my bed was filthy but I decided not to say anything and let one slip up go. However, upon going to bed later that night, I noticed one pillow on my side was covered in stains and so was the corner of my side of the bed. Additionally, I noticed the tissue box was almost entirely out. I called the front desk to make sure they changed the sheets and pillow as well as replaced the tissue box resulting in her laughing and she informed me that they change the sheets every day and made sure toiletries were fully stocked. Furthermore, I noticed that the carpet paneling around the in-room Jacuzzi was falling off the wall and informed them of that as well. They first asked if we wanted to switch rooms which was my mistake to refuse even though it was 11:30pm at night and we were exhausted. Then, they asked me if they could come and fix it in the morning and I said absolutely which they did in fact do. They made me feel as though what I was asking for was ridiculous because of it being common industry practice that they change the sheets every day. Thus, I felt confident that they would in fact change them and replace the tissue box.

The next day when we came back to the room, I noticed that not only did they not change the sheets and pillows but rather remake the bed and did not replace the tissue box. Further, they did not clean the filthy night stand. After I used the Jacuzzi my second night, I grabbed one of the towels conveniently placed next to the Jacuzzi and began to dry myself only to find a big brown spot on it. When I went to take a shower, I noticed the shower curtain was also filthy. Honestly, at that point I was certain that the carpet was the cleanest thing in the room. I went to the front desk the next morning upon checking out and informed the front desk person about how nothing from my call was accomplished and informed her of all the other issues. Her response to me was that there was a language barrier with the employee and thanked me for informing her. She did absolutely nothing more for me and I doubt anything will be changed considering what happened the first night's phone call and nothing being done for the second day. On the Choice Hotels side, I would definitely recommend staying at a Comfort Suites any day compared to this one which does have an almost equally delicious breakfast only slightly better and is much cleaner as well as more attentive to accomplishing their every day job. Granted this hotel was more budget friendly than Comfort Suites, but for a little less money and having a Jacuzzi boy do they make...

This is the worst hotel experience I have ever had to deal with in my entire life. My place flooded because of rain. They gave us a room that smelled of vomit shortly after our stay. The service people barged in the room no knocking with Direct TV rep because they knew the TV was broken. They just barged into the room no announcement. The shower didn't work. There were roaches and other bugs in the room. The bed was not connected to the bedframe and with any slight touch or movement rolled all over. The fridge stunk because food left in it rotted. When we calmly told them the issues of the hotel they said they did not have any other rooms so we could leave and get refunded for our time not there. Anything additional we would have to contact management. Because the rain was so heavy. We said we would reach out to management and wait for their response the next day. It rained the following day equally as hard and the manager responds the 2nd day offering a 10% discount for not having a shower and all the issues. They say nothing came be done till I leave. I say ok. I leave right away before the morning is over and so their cleaning staff can get to the room before 11am. The manager stops responding to my email and they charge me in full for 7 days. Pure Scam. This hotel was worst than any hotel I have stayed at in 3rd World Countries. There lack of respect and nonchalant attitude about how things were. No concern. These were the worst people and worst conditions I have ever seen in my life. I know you may see this place as cheap and reasonable. Avoid them at all cost. I saw one of the managers paying workers with cash as they all seem like illegal aliens and they claim the rooms are all packed when there are minimal cars and no one going out of the rooms. It seems they are smuggling people in the country through the hotel. Last thing- the pictures they have posted on here are not for their rooms. I think one of the pictures is reflective of their rooms. I am going to notify the State Of California Health and Governing Authorities of what I saw and the FBI. This...

Loved the location (very quiet) and the staff was polite. Breakfast low quality...room price higher than normal because of Christmas vacation week. Bed was comfortable-but bed skirt and mattress pads stained-discovered this along with the bed bugs. The man at the desk did not seemed concerned about the bed bugs. They were discovered the last two nights of our stay. Caught one. Did not know what it was. Thought it was a bug that just came in. Next night-creepy crawlers in bed again. Looked bug up and lo and behold-bed bug. Complained to front desk in morning. No compensation-nothing from the management. He had the handy man check the room and he taught us all about bed bugs...great. He stripped both beds for us and removed the bedding to the laundry facility so we could pack our bags. Never have seen a bed bug before and hope to never see one again. Bagged and cleaned everything on our return to home as instructed by the handy man so we would not bring them back with us. Bed bugs happen, I guess...but will not return to this motel. They do spray they said-but seeing those stained linens grossed us out-not very clean. Lesson learned-check bedding when you check in to a room and report any bugs you find. Bring the bug with you-if you can- when you are reporting the problem. They should move you to a clean room or reimburse your stay. So far, we are bug free at home but it took hours of cleaning and bagging everything. Also had an exterminator to the house just incase. We travel all the time. This was an eye opener. Also called Priceline and complained. They did call the motel and was told there wasn't a problem with bed bugs. I called the motel as well and they told me the same thing. I guess no one wants to admit they have bed bugs and no one wants to stay at a motel that has them. Hard...
