I'm staying here currently and feel it's important to note that there are very few rooms that DO NOT have massive street noise from the freeway and off ramp that it's built right up against. The balcony's are small, not enough to stretch your legs on if I'm honest and more 'juliet' balcony's which allow you to open a large door and get the fresh warm socal air, but not enough for you to enjoy seated. They were very accommodating in trying to find me a room I was comfortable with, but in the end, what they had to offer all was a disappointment. Then I went to sit by the pool which was rotten with screaming children with nobody doing anything about asking them to calm down, including parents and staff - and there's one entire side of the not large pool with empty seating because they're charging $100 to sit there. They are not cabanas where you can close off the screaming children, they are just chairs against a wall. The other side of the pool was packed already with no seating available so that was the remaining area to sit if you wanted to enjoy an afternoon by the pool. Now that $100 is a voucher for food and beverage, so that's a plus however I had just spent over $100 at the on site restaurant and they required another $100 for me to sit in a chair by the pool. This is not the Ritz or the St Regis, this is an autograph collection next to a loud freeway that is nicely appointed in the rooms but they need to really work out what this place is worth luxury wise. They're acting a bit too special for what they really are here. I cannot recommend staying here. The management has offered the moon and the stars to make things right with vouchers, but in my opinion - the complaints and disappointments shouldn't have been there in the first place. C'mon...a pool by the roadside where you hear freeway traffic and a row of chairs, not even in a cabana for $100 to use when there is no other place to sit by the pool? I wanted to stay here to pamper myself and it's been one disappointment...
Read moreWe just stayed at this brand new hotel and it was the worst place ever. We had tons of ants in the room and when we told the front desk all they said was we are sorry about that. I understand there is a pandemic right now but no one told us that the rooms would not be made up at all during our stay not even clean towels. Once again we told the manager and they said we are sorry for that. I am sorry at $500.00 a night we expected a lot more than what we received. Parking was another $46.00 a night, but Morgan the parking manager was great he took care of us and gave us a deal on the bike they rent. They also had a wedding so we were not allowed to use the pool at all during our stay and they kept holding us back at the lobby so we would not be in the way while they were taking photos. Another note that they charge $13.95 a day to use the wifi. I just stayed at the Beverly Hill Hilton a few days ago and that is a very nice hotel and the wifi was free their as the manager was trying to tell me that when you stay in a fancy hotel that the wifi is never included what a bunch of hooey !! They had every excuse in the book for everything. Never once gave us a deal for all the things we told them about and the music played all night long right into our room we asked them to turn it down and they said they would but once again failed to listen to our suggestions. We travel a lot to Orange County and we were really hoping for a fun time at this hotel. We will NOT be coming back to this hotel again lost a good client too. The ants were the worse at $500.00 a night just not right your not all that !!! Not once did anyone at the hotel listen to what we had to say the only one that was helpful was the valet guys - NO TO Inn at the Mission San Juan Capistrano - Thumbs down
Too bad cause this hotel could be awesome if anyone cared to listen. They have a restaurant but it was never opened while...
Read moreSimply Magical. I stayed here for a night a month prior, I had just had a surgery and I was looking for a quiet place (away from the kids) to heal. From the moment I valeted until check out, my experience was perfect, so I decided to come back for my husbands birthday. Ahja, the Assistant Rooms Operation Manager was responsive, warm and accommodating. She went above and beyond to help me organize my trip and make sure it was something to remember. When we checked in, Michael the Room Operations Manager, was also fantastic, he made me feel so welcomed (I always love when they say “We’ve been expecting you!”)
Our room was luxurious and impeccable and sparkling wine and chocolates were waiting! The Ysidora restaurant was busy but not overly crowded. We opted for outdoor seating in a cozy corner surrounded by heat lamps. It was restaurant week and we took advantage of the 3 course prefix menu. Unfortunately they were out of the salmon listed on the menu and had to offer me Chilean sea bass instead (poor me 😉) They had live music and a kind gentleman came over to talk to us during our meal. We made small talk and he asked us how we were enjoying our visit. I found out later it was the OWNER of the hotel! What a humble and personable man. Over the course of our stay, I heard from several different staff members (separately) who gave major compliments on his leadership. It was also evident in the positive demeanor of the staff. They had many options for entertainment-we watched a lovely act across the street at the local playhouse, rode the complimentary bikes to the beach, visited the spa and the mission. As an Ambassador Marriott member, I have seen my fair share of hotels but this one is truly special. We plan to come back every year for our Anniversary! Thank you staff at the Inn for helping us create a beautiful memory that will be...
