Tspoons Cooking Classes — Local services in San Juan Capistrano

We have been to this cooking class multiple times over many years. Regardless of whoever is teaching the class, the environment and experience are almost always identical. The setup is ideal for a "hands on" cooking experience that allows you to cook the dishes from beginning to end. Other cooking classes use a "team cook" approach which limits each participant to a certain portion of the recipe. There are 4 cooking and prep stations that allow each team of 4 to fully experience the cooking lesson and recipe. Add in a bottle of wine and the personal interaction with the professional chefs, the experience is second to none. If possible, try to get into a class with Chef Danielle as she always offers an enjoyable and memorable experience. Chef Jessica and Chef Dominique are also very good. Have taken friends and my daughters to classes and the memories...

Pretty simplistic instructions and recipes and only half of the advertised time is spent in the kitchen, the rest is spent eating. We went on Greek date night and most recipes were mix and cook simple or easier. Pita chips, for example, were literally take store bought pita (no, your don't learn how to make pita) cut, toss in oil and bake. Seemed like most of the people that didn't cook at all (mostly the guys) got the most out of it while the more seasoned people would get more from an online video. All in all a fun night, but way over-priced for the instruction and the fact that you are cooking for 1.5 hours or less in a 3 hour class, and that they crowd 4 people per station, even if you don't know the other people. My wife and I hosted a dinner for a total of 8 couples at Tspoons. The manager (Danielle) was very helpful with ideas and suggestions to ensure that our guests had a wonderful time! She even called the day of the event to inform us of an important parking situation that without advanced notice, would have made parking nearly impossible for our guests.

The Tspoons team truly went above and beyond to exceed our expectations and make our dinner a ton of fun! I highly recommend Tspoons to anyone looking for a fun place for dinner and we would definitely host another event at their facility...
