This place is excellent for free tent camping. There are two outhouses right next to the car park. And several campgrounds right next two two beautiful creeks, with table, benches and grill. You have to walk up a small trail with your stuff but there you are.. directly in nature and quiet. On the places more up the public hiking trail you donβt even hear the cars driving. But there are people driving up to the mountain top all day long. Itβs beautiful. There were some flys but nothing special. Early in the morning the outhouses and trash bins will be cleaned. Great...
Β Β Β Read moreCampground is the trailhead for numerous trails (see all trails app). About 6-8 camp spots following creek up the trail, it seems they're FCFS, nice happy camping spots, but little privacy if that matters to you. Vault toilets there too, clean as they can be, lots of toilet paper ππ©
I took the trail up the mountain that starts at the creek, straight up hill about 90% of the trail, follows the creek most of the way, not a long trail but a pretty one and a decent workout. Dogs welcome, but should be on leashes for their safety and out of consideration of others. Enjoy!...

As a teenager, I used to hike up here with family and friends, exploring every nook and cranny of the trails. Returning now, I can see it's more developed than I remember, yet at the same time, it shows a bit of its age. Despite that, the beautiful scenery on the trails is still breathtaking.
