We stayed for 2 nights and book directly online on the hotel official website.
Check-in is smooth and first impression with the staff is positive.
We were given top floor (4th floor) with balcony. The balcony is very nice and have 2 chairs and a table, perfect for a romantic chill drink at night, or a coffee in the morning.
Room is (mostly) clean, aside from the bathroom, which is not super super clean but still acceptable.
Room has a mini fridge which is sufficient for us to chill our drinks, but no freezer.
Parking is free, and it's underground, so we feel more safe to park our car there. Also, the car won't feel super hot (under the sun), this is important for sunny LA!
Location is great too, close to Santa Monica beach, and have liquor store right next to the hotel!
Breakfast is free, but options are very very limited. Coffee barely taste like coffee, super weak and diluted. Free granola bars.
When we check out, we needed to print something for work. Staff did go above and beyond to accommodate our request.
1 star deducted mainly because the water pressure for shower is VERY poor. Staff explained that the whole area are experiencing the same problem, and that the Santa Monica city staff do come and check if they exceed the allowed limit and will charge a fine if they do. Therefore, only "large" hotels who don't care about the fine will have better water pressure.....ok....I am not from local so I am not sure if this is made up or what......
Also, the room feels damp and our towels won't dry when hang in the washroom. Therefore, we have to request for extra towels. The staff asks us to pick up the towel from front desk, and they need us to sign a form to keep track with how many towels we have taken to our room. Feels a bit weird but I guess people steal towels? that's why they have to keep track on things?
Another issue is that the hotel feels "shaky" whenever there's car drove pass. A bit noisy since it's right next to...
Read moreHotel Review Near Santa Monica ||||Our stay at this hotel was pleasant and convenient, though the price felt high for what was offered compared to European standards. ||||The hotel is located a few miles from the Santa Monica beachfront, with easy access to public transportation. The neighborhood is quiet and feels safe, which made our stay more comfortable. ||||Room: The room was standard in size, clean, and simply furnished. It had a small fridge, microwave, and a coffee maker with pod-style coffee (the Americano-style coffee was a bit different than what we’re used to). The bathroom was a good size and stocked with shampoo and towels. We had no issues with noise at night, but around 10 AM, we could hear housekeeping cleaning the rooms above us. ||||Parking: The underground parking was convenient, but there was an extra charge of $10 per day. ||||Breakfast: Included in the price but very basic—individual packs of cereal, sweet pastries, granola bars, coffee, and milk. There were also ice machines on the first and fourth floors, and a water dispenser at the front desk. ||||Location: There are several fast-food places within walking distance, including a 7-Eleven where you can grab a snack or coffee. A few gas stations are also nearby. ||||Service: The staff was friendly and helpful. However, the hotel requires a deposit—first, they held $200 a day before arrival, which was refunded when we checked in and paid for the room. Then, they charged an additional $100 deposit at check-in, which we still haven’t received back, even though it’s been seven days since checkout. ||||Overall, the hotel met our basic expectations, but the price felt steep for what was provided. That said, for our February trip and given our plans in Santa Monica, it was a convenient and...
Read moreFrom check-in, to check-out, it was a seamless experience staying at the Days Inn Santa Monica.
Staff: I was greeted by a friendly staff (Mitch) which was attentive and helpful during my stay at the hotel. The staff works around the clock to ensure every aspect of your stay is a breeze from the cleanness and comfort of your room to local recommendations if requested.
Location: It was very easy to come and go in our rental car as the hotel had plenty of onsite parking available throughout our stay.
To me one of the biggest draws of this hotel when I booked it was the location. Santa Monica Pier and 3rd Street Promenade is just a 10 minute drive (used Veo, an electric scooter/bike, to ride there and back when weather was nice) you could also be in a number of beautiful neighborhoods with various dining options (such as Sawtelle/Venice/Palisades/Malibu/Beverly Hills/West Hollywood) in only 20 minutes by car.
Within walking distance (less than a mile) there is a Erehwon, Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, CVS, and a very solid selection of sports bars and high end dining just a few blocks from the hotel.
Hotel Building: While the building might look older on the outside (old school LA design), it looked to me like the interior had been recently renovated to keep up with customer needs.
My friends and I enjoyed having a drink after dinner on the sun deck where we found plenty of comfortable seating and benches to eat meals.
Additionally, while I was staying here, I was working remotely and didn’t encounter any issues with the wifi in my room. I took a number of video calls and jumped around on software I needed for work without encountering significant lag.
Overall: For the price/location/quality, you can’t go wrong. I’ll definitely be recommending to friends and family...
