My friend recommended the AmericInn, but this was also a Wyndham hotel, had a pool, and was about $50 less, so I went with it. This was not a wise decision. The pool was “under maintenance,” which should have been removed from the website if it isn’t useable at this time. I caught a peek, and there was water in it, but also a bicycle on the pool deck, so I’m not sure what was going on there, but my son didn’t get to swim, which was a very big disappointment. The room was in rough shape. The flooring was very poorly installed (cut jagged and short of the appropriate size), noisy in places where it was “floating” a little too much, with a jagged bump in the bathroom; almost like a screw was under it. Caulk was smeared along the tub, baseboards in the main room, and walls. Just an astonishing amount of caulk seemed to be everywhere. The door frame had a sharp chunk fall out of it in the morning; I have no idea how, as even door slamming (which we did not partake in that; though it seemed that lots of folks enjoyed it at 2:27 in the morning) should not cause such a thing. We came back from looking at the “continental breakfast” and it was just laying there. I didn’t look too closely because we were about to leave, but there was probably caulk failure involved. The coffee table looked like it had pink and green nail polish or spray paint in huge splotches on it that someone tried to remove with acetone as well as scratch off, destroying the table top in the process. The floors were dirty, with a film that required no bare feet EVER. Under the bed (which was very visible between the huge wooden sleigh bed frame and the actual platform holding the mattress itself) was full of crumbs, loose change, and what I would estimate to be months of dust/dandruff. The heat/ac unit smelled strange, and the buttons on it were completely worn through. Tiles around the jacuzzi were cracked. The towels were in poor shape; very frayed on the edges. The bathroom had a single roll of toilet paper in it that was almost out. It took about 20 minutes for us to get enough toilet paper for me to be able to use the bathroom before bed. We went to a gas station to pick up breakfast, because the food available was...not appealing. I will say, the gal at the front desk was very friendly, which was a positive. Also, the bedding was reasonably clean. I would advise to spend the extra money on the AmericInn across the street. The giant mirror across from the bed makes me think this is the kind of hotel you would want to go to for…adult activities. It wasn’t a family-friendly...
Read moreUpon entering the room, I immediately noticed stains on the comforter and a chair awkwardly shoved into a corner where it didn’t belong, making it difficult to move around. Shortly after turning on the AC, it began emitting a burning smell, which was both concerning and unpleasant.
The bathroom conditions were unacceptable. The toilet was not securely fastened to the floor, shifting every time it was used, and it sounded as if it might break with each flush. No soap was provided for either the sink or the shower, and for two adults we were given only one towel. The shower drain was badly clogged, and the toilet paper roll was nearly empty upon arrival.
Breakfast was another disappointment. At check-in, we were told it would be served from 7:00–10:00 a.m. However, when we arrived at 9:30, the shelves were empty, and only a gallon of milk and a few yogurts remained in the fridge. When we asked the front desk about it, we were dismissively told breakfast actually ended at 9:00, despite the misinformation given at check-in. The response to our concern was nothing more than a careless “oh.”
This property charges far too much for such a poor experience. I rarely write reviews, but I am extremely disappointed that the money I spent here felt entirely wasted. Do yourself a favor and...
Read moreWe checked in here late last night to lay our heads after driving for hours. It isn’t the newest hotel but it was just perfect to get in and rest. Clean linens, practically brand new mattress. You can tell they are slowly making small improvements as a budget allows for in this economy. I noticed new parts and equipment for the hot tub. The best part of this place was the pool. It was CLEAN. Nobody’s long hairs floating around, no fake nails… it was clean and nice and warm. In fact most of my time here has been spent in the pool. Very relaxing and quiet. They even have bikes outside for kids. Plenty of parking space if you have a larger travel set up. A little gas station store in walking distance on the neighboring lot. Walmart is visible from the parking lot. Front desk guy was super kind. If you want a 5 star luxury hotel.. you hen go pay for it. But this was a cute little place to lay our heads, relax and prepare for our long...
