To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to share my recent experience at the truck stop restaurant in Sauk Centre, Minnesota. As a truck driver of color, I travel across the country and rely on truck stops not only for fuel, but also for rest and meals in between long hours on the road. Unfortunately, my experience at this location left me feeling disrespected, unwelcome, and disappointed. A few weeks ago, I entered the restaurant to get something to eat. While I was simply standing and waiting, a man I did not know suddenly spoke to me in a loud and firm voice, instructing me to “sit down” because someone would be with me. The way it was said came across as dismissive and unnecessarily harsh, especially since I was not doing anything wrong and the restaurant was not busy at the time. I complied and sat down, but despite the lack of customers, I was forced to wait for what felt like an unreasonably long time before anyone finally came to take my order. As someone who had just driven up from Mississippi to drop off a load, I was already exhausted and looking forward to a simple meal and a little respect. Instead, I was treated as though my presence was a problem and my business did not matter. This is not what I expect from any establishment, particularly in the hospitality industry where respect, courtesy, and fair treatment should always come first. Experiences like this are discouraging. Truck drivers are the backbone of supply chains across the country, and we rely on places like this truck stop for food and rest during our long, demanding routes. To be treated in such a cold and dismissive way not only reflects poorly on the staff involved, but also gives the impression that customers of color are not valued or welcomed at this establishment. I sincerely hope management takes this seriously. No paying customer should ever feel ignored, disrespected, or singled out in any way. I share this experience not just for myself, but in the hope that changes can be made so that future drivers and travelers—regardless of who they are—receive the dignity, respect, and timely service...

Read moreThere is Mr. Lee-supervisor at repair shop. Extremely rude creature with mental disorder. He pissed off coz I couldn’t start engine after oil filter change. It was starter problem. But, hey, I’m not at Walmart parking lot, I’m at REPAIR SHOP and you have to fix problem-that’s why you are here, and I pay you money for that! I didn’t argue with him, even when he closed my hood with force and was walking erratically around, saying F-words toward my truck and me. Long time ago wise people told me:”Never ever argue with idiot, because you automatically become the same as he is” I still keep it in mind. Finally my truck was pushed out, I called towing and they gave me pull up start. Happy end. But this truck stop doesn’t exist anymore to me, and of course I’ll tell this story to all my friends truckers. I’ll never get here diesel, food and their repair service. Poor people, they don’t even know, that politeness is not fake plastic smile on your face, it should be...
