If youāre thinking about booking here, think again. My boyfriend and I are doing a Route 66 roadtrip, and thought this was going to be a cute and authentic place to stay for roadside Americana vibes. I checked into the hotel, and the first red flag should have the bugs on the floor of the office. The second, is that smoking is allowed in the rooms in 2025. While the smoking part is an āauthentic flavorāā¦.once again itās 2025 and they try to charge you extra for nonsmoking rooms. Our hotel was as expected at first. The door was very difficult to open and the lock was stuck. It was dated and retro and a bit rough. Holes in the carpet, the tub looked like a body had been dissolved in acid in there. There was a blood stain on the pillow and I flipped it over because it had been a long day. Everything was seemingly alright, until we decided to microwave some cup of noodles. The fridge was not working by the way. As soon as we microwaved our noodles, we noticed a cockroach on the wall. My boyfriend crept closer to try and kill it, but thatās when it FLEW. We began packing our things with the utmost haste as MORE cockroaches began flying around in a frenzy. I ran out of the room to Charlie at the office. I told him about the roach issue and asked for a refund. He refused and told me it must have been because I left the door wide open. I definitely did NOT leave the door open at all. At 11pm after driving ALL DAY, we just decided to take the L and leave for a different hotel. I called Priceline (because I booked through them) and their attempts to get me a refund were futile as well. DO...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI'm giving 5 stars based on money spent. For less than 50 dollars you're lucky to get a cardboard box to stay in these days.
With that said, I have to say my expectations were low. Are there areas that could use improvement? Yes. However, the place was pretty clean, the AC was really nice and cold which was useful because it happened to be 98 degrees this day. The linens were clean and I didn't see any bugs. The bed wasn't worn out either. What else could you ask for at a price under 50 dollars???
The owner and his family are very nice and easy to get along with.
Some easy improvements would be to put blankets on the bed in addition to the sheet. The AC was really cold and a blanket would've helped to equalize the brisk temperature. I would place any guests that are traveling 66 exclusively in customized rooms with fixtures and decorations aimed at their needs for living out their dream of touring 66. Keep those rooms close to the lobby and away from some of the less savory guests. Before you know it you'll be getting more tourists on 66 and less rift raft. That will allow you to raise prices, which I think should be done anyway. I would've paid 66 dollars easily if there were a fleece blanket and just a few more updated and inviting fixtures. Last, but not least, get involved with the Oklahoma Route 66 association. They will help you get higher paying clients.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe booked the room on Priceline for around $170 for 2 nights, which is a normal rate. Got here at 2am and they wanted to charge us an additional $80 for pet fees, which is not disclosed on their website, nor on Priceline, I tried to call to advice them of late check in and check for fees, but we were unable to get through to the office. We ended up leaving because the additional $80 blew our budget and it was not affordable. The person in the office made no attempt to honor the price we were quoted online and seemed satisfied with our departure. Very disappointing as we wanted the triple bed and we are exhausted. There is no way we could have anticipated being charged $125 a night for a place with a $35 a night rate. Very disappointed š God sent us here and they handled us shamefully.
