To start with, in my opinion, the website is extremely false leading. The glamorous online pictures and great write ups and reviews led me on to believe something that I found firsthand was not correct. The 46 acres is not accessible to the visitors and the Yurts are pretty close to each other and not spread across the 46 acres. Don't be fooled by the internet as the Yurts are within a short walking distance of each other and not spread across the 46 acres as described online. The so-called river that runs through the property is dammed up to make a body of water and is not a river. It does not run through the property as advertised and described as the property dammed it up. It is definitely a seasonal body of water (as stated online) as in no rain no water. Again, this is not a river as they claim. It was a nasty body of water with hardly any water and full of algae and lily pads. We literally could not get in the water because it was so low and nasty. When speaking with the staff concerning the issue, the staff recommended not entering the water. We saw it full of turtles, frogs, and snakes. The roads had lots of unfixed washouts making it extremely rough and some parts were extremely steep. It would have helped us and been nice if the location had proper disclaimers online, so we knew exactly what we were getting into, which would have prevented us from booking this location. The business calls it glamping and I called it miserable. The best part of the trip was leaving and not coming back. The property is surrounded by cedar trees and that alone would have prevented us from booking the nonrefundable trip. My allergies were instantly set off when I stepped out of my truck. The allergies were ridiculous during our visit. This location proved to be extremely challenging for me as I am disabled with walking & balance issues. I even called the business prior to booking my trip and explained I am disabled with mobility issues and was advised I would have no issues. The terrain is rough, and you have to go up steps to get onto the deck and there is no ramp. This location is not ADA friendly one bit which made it extremely hard for me to traverse and enjoy myself. There is no wheelchair access at all. Getting into the Yurt was challenging as well. You have to step up from the deck and step up over the door frame, which is high, along with a strip going across the door frame (for the door to close against) and back down into the Yurt. The door is short and wide. You have to repeat the process to get back out of the Yurt and there is nothing to grab onto. If you have any difficulties with heat, balance, lower extremities issues, ect, then I highly recommend against this location. I personally feel this is a terrible design and discriminating against the disabled such as myself. A nice disclaimer would have helped avoid this disastrous place and save my time and money. The Yurt itself is hot. There is a split unit in the wall along with a floor AC unit, and the Yurt does not cool off very well. The walls and ceiling are warm/hot to the touch and the Yurts bake in the sun. The property is aware the Yurts are hot, they have floor AC units newly installed and when I spoke to them, they admitted the Yurts struggle to stay cool...no disclaimer online. The Yurts stay flat out hot and miserable. There was work being done at the Yurt right down the way next to us on our road and the unpleasant sound of the large truck was flat out ridiculous and interrupted our stay. Keep in mind that everything is outside except the bed. When you need the potty in the middle of the night, you have to traverse the Yurt, avoid falling in the unprotected hot tub, and deal with literally hundreds of daddy long leg spiders. The hot tub is a cut out on the deck and installed from the underneath (and is not the hot tub pictured online). There is no step down into or out of the hot tub, and I considered it another wasted item as I could not use it. There was so much chlorine in the hot tub that we could smell it when entering the deck. It turned my wife's hair green. The shower literally runs through the slats of the deck to the underneath ground. Hundreds upon hundreds of daddy long leg spiders cover the restroom. Sit down on the toilet and have them crawl on you. Shower and have them all over the walls and floor. Use the sink and have them crawl on your feet and all over the walls. Again, no disclaimer about the hundreds and I mean hundreds of spiders. Same spider issue in the kitchen area. The outdoor fridge was about worthless and in triple digit heat didn't cool, not even when turning it colder. We kept our stuff in ice chest on ice. The upper deck is literally accessible from a straight up winding steep staircase which was worthless for me being disabled. I got to see the top deck through pictures my wife took. There is a hammock on the top deck that has no shade and appeared worthless in the summer sun/heat. There is an umbrella on the bottom deck but connected and you cannot get to the top deck and use for shade with the hammock. For what we got and the troubles we experienced, this place was grossly overpriced, and we felt obligated to stay because of the money we spent to rent it and not being refundable. It was miserable and hot. We should have rented a cabin and got way more for way less. Heck, for the price we paid to rent it, we thought they would have given us a souvenir cup but that cost me another $43. This experience was a big waste of money and time for us. Maybe different times of the year is more enjoyable; however, I highly recommend against this place for several reasons. I feel there was nothing to enjoy here and nothing to do on the so called 46 acres. The pots and pans listed online that the property provides are the smallest ones possible. I couldn't even cook whole bacon slices and had to cut the bacon in half and cook 2 pieces (one cut in half) at a time. You are provided a grill and 1 small electric plug-in portable cooking burner for a pot/pan so make sure you have food to cook on a grill. The grill is nice and will actually cook a lot of food. The mattress was the best thing about the trip as it was the most comfortable thing around. Other than that, this place was miserable for me having MS. Now I see why this is a non-refundable purchase. This is a one and done never again place. I am trying to advise others of my personal experience and possibly save someone from wasting their time and money. I am not sure where all the good reviews come from, however what we experienced versus the reviews and online pictures was totally opposite. Don't be fooled by what you see online. I feel this location has false claims and not the proper disclaimers to warn and notify people properly. We went for our 7-year anniversary, and I will be making up our anniversary to my beautiful loving wife. I feel this was a 3-ring circus because of false advertising and lack of proper disclaimers. I highly recommend against this property location. Next time we will get a cabin and get...

I had been wanting to stay at The Yurtopian ever since I saw it on Instagram. So when I received a promo code from Nudge, I jumped on the chance to book a getaway for Thanksgiving weekend. In short, the stay was fantastic, and we had an absolute blast at the yurt! The communications made sure our stay a breezy one from start to finish. Love the chat feature on the website, and the owner was quick to answer questions.

It was rainy and cold during our stay, but it didn't stop us from making the most of it. We thoroughly enjoyed everything. The bed was the most comfortable one we've ever slept on for glamping/cabin. The yurt kept us cozy while being very spacious. Thanks to the stable Wi-Fi, my husband was able to catch up with some work while I watched movies. It went out for a bit, but Taylor came out to help us reconnect in a pinch (thank you for coming out, and we hope you feel better soon!) The hot tub and the deck were my favorite part. I was in absolute bliss soaking in the hot tub under a million stars - what a magical experience! The view from the deck was absolutely stunning. We got to enjoy the beautiful hill country scenery without anyone else in sight.

The outdoor bathroom can be a little convenient at times (think running to it in the rain heavily clothed), but only because it was raining and freezing. You should expect to see some spiders and insects from time to time, so don't be caught off guard. You're in nature after all! It's all a part of the experience.

My husband didn't have high expectation before our visit, and now he's already asking me to book another stay when it gets warmer. That says a lot...

Tuesday, August 8 2023 I arrived in the beautiful Texas Hill country and went directly to HEB to get my curbside order of 6 bags of ice to cool down the soup bowl, hot tub, or the Hot Pot maybe, that is onsite Becca is as lovely as the photos online with a cool interior temperature of 72°F arguably better than the 103°F of the devil's armpit. Pro tip, if going up the observatory deck, use a damp cloth on or around your hand so you don't end up melted to the metal like a Texas summer version of i double dog dare you in a Christmas story. That said the view is brilliant, I actually came to catch some perseids. And to celebrate the lions gate 8/8 portal. It's woohoo I know. As it is mercilessly hot and I plan to be up all night. I recommend a nap. So until next, log, Hasta la Pasta Sabrina.

Sorry for eating Cheetos in the bed. They were white cheddar. No harm done.

Also wear shoes. In August, the deck is lava. No, really, LAVA Burns like a demon on hallowed ground.

Despite the heat, the stay was fantastic. The staff is super helpful and attentive. The bed is the most comfortable bed I have slept on in awhile. And yes. This whole review.... well.. the beginning.... is in the guest book. I will be back in autumn. To fill another ger guestbook with silliness Oh. They have a little library in each room. Consider bringing a book to share or swap? Idk if that is the process but I'm gonna leave one I no...
