While we didn't end up staying at Lamb's Resort - I am leaving this review so others can be aware of their policy regarding rescheduling.

TLDR: they do not allow rescheduling despite their paperwork only speaking to cancellations.

I had a trip booked for a lakeside tent camping site. The paperwork that was sent to me only speaks to cancellations, it does not specifically state anything about rescheduling. Due to the flooding in the area and continued rainfall, we choose to reschedule our trip. I called and spoke with a staff member who informed me that they had gotten a number of calls asking to reschedule so she confirmed with her manager and that I could not reschedule and apply my already paid balance to the future booking because they would be losing money. I made no changes during that call but called back the next day after finalizing our plans and spoke to another person and explained that if they would let me rebook to the following month and apply the tent campsite fees paid, I would book an available cabin with them which would prevent them from losing any money and would in fact give them even more money because the cabin would be significantly more than the tent site I had previously booked. I was told no. I ended up just cancelling and will be taking my business elsewhere.

I totally respect small business and wouldn't want them to lose money on my booking but what I was offering them was actually to their benefit.

I was told that I could call after what would have been our final day there to see if they were able to rebook the site and if so, they would refund my money at that time. This is noted in their blurb on cancellations.

I feel like their paperwork either needs to be update to clearly state that rescheduling is not allowed and handled the same way as cancellations or they should allow rescheduling even if it means I would have to pay a small...

The campground is beautiful. One of the best I have seen. The cabins are a COMPLETELY different story. Absolutely AWFUL. We are staying in one now and the second we walked in i was calling around looking for a hotel. If one had availability we would have left. The bathroom is hanging off the back of the cabin, you literally sit crooked on the toilet. The bathroom wreaks like mold. Its old. Not old as in rustic and cute. Old as in gross, dusty, cobwebs. You can see thru the walls to the outside. The first night we were up all night swatting flies. There's no TV (I get it its a cabin) no radio, not even a clock. Housekeeping knocks on your door EVERY morning asking if u need towels or garbage emptied. They leave a slip specifically for this that you can hang on the door if u need anything, there is no need to knock and disrupt people. The fire pit was about 2x2 and behind the cabin so at night you have to walk in the pitch dark behind your cabin thru the trees to your pit. We were in the middle cabin - the only one without a back door. The waterfall is beautiful but you can't even see it from your cabin. You have to walk across the little roadway to the railing to see it. Its also under a very busy bridge so you hear traffic all day and all night. The cabins would be great if they cleaned them up a little bit. Its definitely in need of everything. It needs major updating. Its literally like an original 1920 cabin. Nothing but dusty puzzles on the shelf. And a fly swatter laying on the counter because they know you'll need it. I would have much rather stayed at a campsite. The cabins should be torn down. I would have stayed home if i knew that was what we were...

I stayed here for the first time last summer and despite the person I spoke with over the phone to book initially being very rude, I decided to give the place and their staff the benefit of the doubt. I arrived and set up camp - absolutely loved the location and views! The north shore is one of my favorite places to visit and to have camp available right on the shore was incredible! Staff were friendly upon arrival and throughout my stay. Upon check out I decided to rebook for the following year (2025) and was told when to call to adjust the reservation. I put it in my calendar and was very diligent about calling on the exact date of 11/18/24 at 9am. The phone lines were busy, so I figured I would continue trying because we really wanted to get a jump start on our reservation and changing the dates. It may sound crazy but I called 400 times and not a single time did I get a dial tone. I called again the next day, same thing, every single day since the 18th I have received a busy signal throughout their business hours and the ONE time I call and get a dial tone it goes to voicemail without the option to leave a message. There is no way to email you about this issue and I have become slightly frustrated with your process. How am I (or anyone) supposed to adjust our reservation if we have no ability of getting through - If you are going to offer this as an option I feel there should be a more efficient process in place. Very disappointed. Unless I can get through to someone M-W this next week I will be canceling our upcoming...

We made our reservation a few months in advance. We spoke with Paul who said confirmation was not available electronically and they would mail it. We received our letter, confirmed site 26 water/electric (no sewer site available). We called a few days before arriving and were told we were moved to site 25. When we got to our site, we could not find our electric hookup, so maintenance came - he pointed out that our power was on a shared poll through a small path about 40 feet away at the neighbor's site. Our cord did not reach and when we plugged in our Mad Dog surge protector, it immediately gave us the E7 serious issue missing ground error code. The park said we could not move / no other open sites. After flipping the 30 amp breaker several times, the error code went away; the park had to provide us a 30 amp extension cord so we could hookup to power (had to go through the error & multiple snaps again; we'll see how long till the breaker snaps again). Anytime we needed to access the post (e.g., if breaker snaps) or if we were to have wanted to use the 20 amp outlets, we had to go to the neighbors site. We requested the electrician evaluate the circuit/hookup - park said would be the next day as he was unavailable that day. After that 30 minutes, we started to set up and found the site EXTREMELY unlevel. We had to build up gravel and use 3 blocks to get it close to level. Wifi is very poor. Would not stay here again / don't recommend.

The location makes this place really really special, it's the best campground I've ever been to (and I've been to dozens). A long beautiful shoreline, a pebble beach, a hiking trail along a babbling creek, a huge gorgeous waterfall, and scenic views with campsites right along Lake Superior are all private to this property. We came up north on a very busy tourist weekend and because we stayed at Lamb's Resort we experienced the rugged beauty of the north shore without the crowds - seriously the waterfall is as impressive as Gooseberry! Our tent site was a little small which was really the only downside. There were showers, nice bathrooms, plenty of porta-potties and water spigots, a playground, an inexpensive arcade, and clean dumpster/dump station facilities here. The front staff was extremely friendly and the restaurant onsite was very delicious - especially the pizza and the shakes! I could've stayed a week at this campground but unfortunately we only had one night so I cannot wait to come back!

It is so close to the busy highway you hear truckers with jack breaks all night and day. It's hard to sleep. The bathrooms are separated from the shower. So after a shower you have to go back to the other side where the toilets are to comb your hair and brush your teeth. The mirrors are so low you have to squat to look in. The handicap shower my mom had a hard time. Put her shower chair in there for her to use. The shower head was 7' high. She said it took forever to wash her hair. You really need a hand held shower head. It would make more sense for a handicap shower. We were camped in the tent area. It was a long hike to the showers. They really should have the bathrooms closer to the tent area and not RV sites. Or put in another bath house closer to the tent area. It was nice to have a porta potty located throughout the area. But they get stinky. But for that many sites you really need to upgrade and add another bath house. KOA's and better than this resort.
