Mountain Cove Marina and RV Park — Hotel in Sevierville

I don’t typically leave reviews but I felt obligated to share my experience. We rented two jet ski slips over the summer (March-September). We had several billing issues with the owners not charging for payments for months at a time and despite efforts to get payments submitted. They would randomly charge after 2 or 3 months. The owners would respond stating the reason they were not charging monthly (despite this being in the contract) due to not having my card information on file nor contact information. I provided my contract to them numerous times that had all my updated information and they would still email saying the same thing over and over. My husband went to pick up both jet ski and he immediately noticed the gas cap was taking off one of them and hanging there. Our gas cap is under the hood which means someone intentionally opened it. The jet ski would not stay started and was smoking. We had to take it to a shop that charges an insane hourly rate to even have it diagnosed. These are only a couple years old and I’m just distraught that something like this could happen on a popular Marina. The owner admitted to people stealing gas from boat owners on the marina as well. Take your business elsewhere. It’s not worth the thousands of dollars in damages to fix...

We rented a pontoon but chose to cancel at the last minute due to hazardous weather. I called the marina the morning of our rental which was to be from 2:30-6:30pm (with excellent rates!), and one of the owners, Dianne, was pleasant and VERY receptive to our concerns. She encouraged us to wait it out and still get out on the water so we waited until nearly 1:00pm.

According to the weather app, we deemed the chance of being caught in significant rain still just too iffy at 70%, and though we'd still like to have gone, she refunded us the $50 security deposit that she could have kept. Consequently, she now has a group eager to get back to Lake Douglas for a second try with Mountain Cove Marina.

Prior to our trip and rental, we read only good reviews about this outfit, barring one small issue I inquired about before I rented with them and they assured us that was years before and had since been resolved. We were really sorry we missed getting out and intend to go back our next time out, and encourage everyone to try Mountain Cove Marina if they are going to Gatlinburg or Dollywood, or The Smokey's! This is a great marina and campground that is very well kept and ran by very good people. They have Jetskis and boats for rent, they sell very nice boats, and have a great marina with covered storage for your boat and the campground with a nice bathroom facility to boot. The owners are Dwight and Dianne and they are usually onsite making sure all the guests are happy and taken care of. They help you dock your boat when you come to fuel up also at their marina which has 89 non ethanol gas specifically for boats. We have been here for two years now and running and have had very few issues, and those that did occur were quickly resolved by their staff. This is a great place to vacation and visit beautiful Lake Douglas with by far the best location on Douglas, that is 10 minutes from Pigeon Forge and Sevierville with tons of other activities to do on rainy days.
