This place was beyond our expectations. We’d give it 10 stars if we could! Clean, comfortable, and fully equipped with everything we needed. Some things they had were detergent, mosquito spray, life vests in different sizes, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, olive oil, spices, and coffee. My husband loved fishing off the dock in the mornings while I loved watching him from the bathtub. Lunch was spent down by the water shucking our own fresh oysters. Happy hour spent in the hot tub. We enjoyed romantic sunset dinners and a fire every night. Late nights we sat on the deck loungers and star gazed. The bed was wonderful, it is on the firmer side, with soft silky sheets and an unbelievable view to wake up to. We used air conditioning most nights but one night the wind picked up and it felt great opening everything up and sleeping to the waves. The upstairs bathroom had heated floors, dimming lights and even comes with a wall mounted magnifying makeup mirror. The closet also has a full-length mirror. The owner’s artwork decorated the house nicely. In my opinion the house sits in the best location on the canal. You get sunrise and sunset views as well as the Olympic Mt range. Views anywhere in the house are just stunning. We got to see seals playing in the water all day long. Bring binoculars! We lucked out in having the owners stay in the rental next to ours with their boat the same week. They were kind enough to offer us a tour of the canal. It was an amazing time. Topped off our vacation for sure. Although that’s highly unlikely to happen on your trip it does show the owners go above and beyond to make your stay incredible. We have already booked a returning stay. We can’t wait to go back! Don’t miss out...
Read moreThis was my third stay at Luxury Lookout in the past two years (I’ve also stayed at Walls of Glass once and have an upcoming reservation). I cannot say enough good things about these properties or Phil and Tove. They have created such comfortable, well-thought-out spaces for whatever kind of getaway you’re seeking. One this most recent trip, the weather was moody, which matched the calm, unplugged respite I wanted. Whether my partner and I were in the hot tub, the upstairs sunken tub (so dreamy), sleeping in late (the bed is super comfy), or relaxing by the fireplace, the incredible views of the clouds, snowcapped mountains, and endless stream of wildlife (we saw so many eagles and seals!), was mesmerizing. Oh, and we got to see the Supermoon from bed one night, which was beyond incredible. As an avid cook, I appreciate how well stocked the kitchen is with top-quality items. Hama Hama is an easy 30-minute drive away, and well worth the trip for oysters in their cute A-frames. (Be sure to make a reservation—even on a rainy day, they were busy.) Plus, you can bring back local salmon and shellfish to cook at the house. Everything about Luxury Lookout is perfect, IMO, and it’s fast become my happy place and go-to getaway from Seattle. Whether you’re looking for a romantic getaway, a girls' weekend, or a family trip, these properties are all about relaxing and soaking up the beautiful Hood Canal. It's such a special pocket of the PNW and I cannot wait to return for many trips...
Read moreA tranquil house where time stops
My family stayed overnight in this heavenly house on the shore of a peaceful ocean. Though it was raining all the time, it was just the perfect place to stop time, feel the silence and soak up the pristine nature and breath of the ocean. With its wide panoramic windows and patios the house is quite conducive to allow one feeling just a part of the outdoors, even if staying inside. It was very quiet and though the main road is just next to the house, there wasn't any noise coming at night, ensuring a great night sleep. It was very easy to coordinate our arrival codes and communicate with the owner. The house is just perfect, featuring simple yet extremely comfortable design and non-intimidating luxury, very tastefully built, spacey and clean. My family enjoyed the hot tub in the cold rain, and short walks on the shore when the tide was low. Loved the silence and the white-silver-ebony hues of the interior that matched completely with the ocean's - it was just a perfect balance and harmony. We had a very refreshing stay - and it was hard to go back to the hustle and bustle of the world. Highly recommend this property if you are looking for tranquility, peacefulness and complete standstill. Just don't forget to start breathing again once you've seen and experienced it :-) Thank you for this out-of-this-world experience - we hope to visit again one day...
