I stayed at the trails end with a big group while on our way to Montana for a mission trip. As soon as we pulled up I got a bad feeling. A drunk man stumbled out of his Room and started to tell us where we should park. It soon got worse from there. I found out we where staying, in a build in the back of the property behind the pool building. It looked very run down and unsafe. We got up stairs and went into our room. We decided we should look around to make sure it was clean and when we looked under the bed we found a hat and a dirty pair of underwear! And under the underwear we found the tv remote... so we didn't watch any tv that night! After finding that we decide we should also search the other rooms to make sure they were clean as well. While pulling back the sheets on one of the beds we found a little bug. We then got the manager up there and she was very apologetic and got us new sheets. And also gave us a refund on that room and ten dollars off every other room we stayed in. Which was very nice. However I feel our stay was still not worth the money. The hotel is about ten yards away from 2 train tracks and a train comes about every hour on the hour. And in the middle of the night. Some tried getting in our room. The main office and breakfast area where very nice. But they probably should put that money into the rooms instead of where the staff stays. Over all my worst hotel...
Read moreMy significant other and I were for forced out of our house due to flooding. We chose to stay at the Trails Inn and use their monthly rates due to us not knowing when we could move back into our place. As soon as we got there we were put in a building that is behind the pool. There isn't really any outside light, no security and I felt unsafe right away. While we were trying to unload some of our belongings there were people outside screaming at each other, threatening to call the police and talked about it getting violent. So that didn't make me feel any better. Then when we walked in our room it smelt awful! It smelt as if someone has been living in there for years without a shower. Our sliding glass door was broken and anyone could open it and come inside if they wanted to. The peep hole was covered with some type of glue so we couldn't look through, the TV did not work, the telephone didn't work and much more. We ended up getting a full refund and we went else where. I was born and raised in Sheridan and I expected a lot more from the Trails Inn especially how much they were charging. I will never recommend anyone...
Read moreThe staff was pleasant but I had a horrible experience here. After 20 hours of driving we stopped for the night. The first room we were put in was adorable but very, very warm. Like sweltering. There were no screens in the windows so we couldn't open them for cool air. A worthless thermostat that didn't work. The shower is done in tile which looked nice but there is no light near it, like at all and the showerhead felt like a pressure washer. The heat cannot be controlled in that building we were told after complaining because it was way too uncomfortable. They moved us to a different, larger room. The comforters were old and it showed. I stripped the blankets off one bed since we bring our own. When the power went out in the hotel (yep) we decided to just go to sleep. As we lay there I felt a pinch on my arm and instinctively slapped and felt SOMETHING in the bed. It was a fat earwig. That was enough. We were told we'd be refunded and left for Rapid City two hours after check-in.
It has cute characteristics but seems like the owners are trying to cut corners remodeling when it could probably benefit from a...
