If you are looking for a "Jellystone" that your kids will enjoy and be talking about months after you leave this is NOT the place to go! I advise you now to choose another campground. These are some reasons why: we were there for 3 days in the middle of June and there was NO ONE there other than their permanents/seasonals. Everything was shut down or turned off. Pool closed (it was clean nice blue water), jump pad deflated, hey ride not running. The person running. It was Michelle. super nice lady but would not keep things open. You continually had to ask her for things to be open. Unlock pool, inflate jump pads. There is very low water pressure. Unable to shower in our motorhome because of it. We went to the showers...clean, but old. The lack of a shower head was disturbing, just the pipe no shower head. Then you have to continually press a button to have the water come on. It's a push button. So water keeps turning off. Hard to shower when the water keeps turning off. The Internet was spotty at best! The laundry facilities are less than user friendly. You have to use your credit card and set up an app to use their washer/dryers. I tried multiple ways to use the washer with the app and machine. I was unsuccessful and now have $30 in charges to my credit card that i wasn't even able to wash my clothes. Told Michelle of this and she said that was odd and would try to help us if we wanted to try again, but at this point was fed up with it. Too much of a hassle for something that should have been so simple. Also after we checked out we noticed you are CHARGED to use the blow up jump pad extra money. That is not always running, and my kids have to go around to find the lady to use the pad. Just ridiculous this is a Jellystone!!!! I have been to multiple Jellystones and never was so unpleasantly surprised. The sites are large and clean. All are gravel! Speaking of gravel there is a golf cart dragging some type of grate to scuff up the gravel. It is extremely loud and he did this for Atleast a good hour. Very disruptive to the camping experience...and rude for the guest to endure that for such a long time. The other Jellystones the jump pad is included in your site fee. We were never TOLD about the additional charge for a jump pad that is not always on. The pool opens at 10 and closes at 5 in PEAK SEASON..that is IF someone unlocks the gate to the pool. So if you are someone that like to take your kids to the pool after dinner, it is already closed after 5 in the middle of June. We also wanted to add our Jellystone reward number to our reservation , there was no option to add the number at the time of booking. we told Michelle but she was uncertain on how to add it and was not hopeful it would add and stated we may have to use our receipt afterwards and contact Jellystone rewards to get it applied. AGAIN something else I have never had trouble with at other Jellystones. In my opinion take the time to drive to another Jellystone don't...
Read moreI have been comimg here since I was about 9 and I am 30yrs old now and bring my family. The new owners have brought some good curb appeal but the amazing staff is gone 😔. I observed staff not really partaking in the activites and smoking in the pavilion. If the old staff did I never seen it. The atmosphere is different. The kids were able to roam freely, within reason and I am not for strangers babysitting my kids. However the rules can be a little bit much sometimes. Micromanagey. Alot of longtime residents left. I still had a toilet be clogged and a mess for the 2 (Mon and Tues) nights I was here, it happens. My point is the good not necessarily outweighing the bad here. Miss old staff that put the kids first and participated. I would still come back but seemingly different environment for sure.
I am updating this because this issues were addressed (bathroom). I said 3 nights but that was me anticipating being here 3 nights, I added a night. Since it wasnt done the first 2 nights and we were approaching daylight I assumed it would remain. I edited in my original above. A run of the mill spot not more specific for kiddos is my main point. It was however ensured issues would be addressed and got a 10% discoint because of the concerns. Something just not the same and I felt like my review made me unwelcomed. Hence the update. Not trying to bash the park. I HAVE to say (to be fair) the lady who inquired ensures I was still very welcome, I offerred to leave instead of stay since my OPINION was so uneasy for her/them. I don't like being were I am not wanted, but I am going to enjoy the rest of my stay. The pool is nice. I love the lake view. Cabins are nice. But returning may be more of a challange now. The fixing of the issues werent without critquing what I wrote. I shoudnt have put 3 nights when it was only 2, my bad. Again with the vibe here. I feel like I would defintly come back I Love this place and it's my childhood memories. When my sister was going through chemo this was our escape, I am just kinda in shock how I was addressed. My grandmother who passed this year use to bring me here. I somehow felt closer being here. I guess we will see how this...
Read moreWe absolutely love this place and plan to come back and stay again! We came opening weekend and stayed the weekend! First thing after unhooking our camper and setting it up we headed straight for the hayride with the Ranger riding with us! We rode all over the park singing songs and waving at other campers! We always found clean restrooms no matter what time of day or night! At the Ranger station we found a gift shop! From shirts to house shoes to candy they had it! Magnets for your fridge, photo frames, pens, keychains, stuffed Yogi Bears, Cindy bear and more! At the back on a shelf they were thoughtful enough to have some monthly feminine products in travel size if you forgot to pack them with packing everything else! Forgot your toothbrush and toothpaste they have it there in a small toiletries section! My favorite part was the picnic table and fire ring at every campsite, so have your campfire songs ready! They have sites for everyone! From primitive (without electric or water) to sites with electric and water hookup as well as sewage hookup and a dump station to flush out the campers when you leave! It was neat to see all the different sizes and types of campers coming in! I heard rumors of being able to rent golf carts to get around the park on, but I didn't check into it. We were able to walk where we needed to go! Don't have a camper or RV? If you check their website and call I was told they might have some that you could rent😯 And finally, if you have or bring kids you know those ever popular words "I'm bored". Well not here Boo Boo Bear! Activities in the activity tent happen all day and change about every hour or so! You have to check their website for all the activities available! Plus every morning guess who you get to wake up?! (besides Mom and Dad or Grandma and Grandpa or whoever you come with) That's right Yogi Bear! (Opening weekend was a little harder to wake him up because he had been hibernating!) Can you tell we had fun? I could go on and on, but if you've read this far (Congrats!) you are probably wondering when I'll hush so you can find out how to book! Have fun and don't forget to get that family photo with Yogi or...
