This was our 7th night on the road of a 21-day road expedition across the Dakotas to Montana and back. We got to Sidney after spending most of the day exploring the North Unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park.
The hotel parking lot and indoor common areas were very tidy. The check-in clerk was very polite and helpful.
Our room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The shower water pressure was adequate but not stellar.
Our room looked out over someone's backyard. But I guess it had to overlook something, yeah?
At this point in our trip we were still eating our own breakfast food in an attempt to ease into a three-week trip, so we didn't try the breakfast provided in the morning.
The breakfast room coffee was the standard weak brew. But the hotel provides a Keurig coffee machine and coffee pods, which is always a welcome touch. Why more places don't do that, I'll never understand. And it's really the only place these waste-generating little machines seem appropriate anyhow.
At $94 all-in, this was definitely the value bargain of our entire 3-week trip. It's just about what we used to pay in non-destination towns for this kind of basic room pre-pandemic. But this is the brave new world we now live and travel in, right? So it's refreshing to see someone trying to hold the line on the hotel...
Read moreFantastic!!! Staff: so friendly! The evening check in (Rachel) and morning check out (Stacey) employees were great. Room: clean, huge ceilings, roomy, comfy beds & pillows, quiet. If I had to complain, I'd say wifi wasn't the fastest and the tub didn't hold water but when the front desk was informed they said they work on it. Amenities: we were told Right away that their pool and hot tub were closed at this time for annual maintenance. I loved the honesty. I've been many places where they did not tell you this until you'd already paid for your room. And they were "welcome cookies" when you first checked in in the afternoon! Exercise room was great. Breakfast: There is no better!! You've never seen such a beautiful spread. There was a menu that let you know what the offerings would be in the morning because they rotate. What a wonderful idea. The day we were there was bacon, sausage, potatoes, scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, ham cheese and egg sandwiches. Cold offerings were cottage cheese, yogurt, cereal, toast, bagels, fruits... It was clean and topped up and just incredible. I was the happiest traveler you've ever seen. I will...
Read moreWorst service ever. I have gone over to the best western countless times and asked them to either look at my door batteries or change them because every other day I have to go next door to get new keys and I don’t know if it’s the keys or my door and to this day no one has come to check it out then they are videoing me crawling in through my window because I can’t get my door open and complain. I’m sorry but if your front desk person (Brooke) would tell the maintenance (Stacey) to look at my door I wouldn’t be complaining.
Also I have asked for a screen countless times for my window and have not received one, I have pets and they just do not care to give me a screen. Then (Stacey) I feel as though she emplied that the screen that had been laying on the ground for the 2 months we have been here was our fault.
I don’t understand why they are worried about me crawling through the window when there are Litterally people SMOKING WEED...
