We just stopped here for one night. Unfortunately it was very smoky from the nearby wildfires. Nice campsites though. Close enough to the resort to walk there via the trail around the lake. The resort was nice, the lodge looks amazing and we had a draft beer and some snacks at the Boathouse. The resort rents boats, kayaks, cabins and lodge rooms. We brought our own kayaks and launched from the little boat launch that is near the campsite. We walked part way around the lake, probably half and it is a very nice, well kept trail. This time of year, August, there were lots of yellow-jackets...bring your trap! There is another campground on Suttle Lake called South Shore. It looks bigger than this one, Blue Bay, but it is further away from the lodge/resort. We stayed in site #22. It had enough room for our camper van and our friend's truck camper. The picnic table is uphill from...
Read moreWe actually had the most beautiful site, but do not trust the reservation tickets posted at each site, they are not updated!! Our spot showed as open & available, but after we were all set up...waiting for the camp host to collect our money (like the sign at the entrance told us to do)....camp host never showed up, but the couple that had reserved the site 3 weeks prior showed up! They were nice as could be, & totally understood & even offered to share the spot w/ us. We ultimately ended up packing up & going home, since we didn’t trust that any of the other “open” sites were actually available. We didn’t have phone service in this area, so we couldn’t go online to see the availability, we were relying on the camp host to actually do their job & keep the reservation tickets updated at each site. So frustrating!!!!! & we never did...
Read moreHit or miss here. Had a better experience in July, but our most recent trip the first weekend in August made us feel as though we were camping in a trailer park in the woods with all of the RV's. If you want peace and quiet this one ain't for you. Generators were seemingly running all around us for hours in the morning and evening. The bathrooms were AWFUL, and the site we inherited had trash like leftover food and unburnables left in the fire pit(which desperately needed emptying) and all around on the ground which we had to clean up. Like everywhere I'm sure they're relying on the old Covid excuse of being understaffed, we barely saw any staff in two days and others we spoke to couldn't find a camp host anywhere. I say BS, if you can't run a campground at full service. then stop...
