On Aug. 20th, 23, my sister birthday and mine was the 19th. We went to celebrate our birthday with my two of my nieces and another sister. Let me start by saying when getting there it was a whole lot commotion outdoors & indoors as well. It looked so unorganized. I was to what is what. So I got out of my car in front to inquire about where to go. So the birthday sister got on the driver seat and right there and then the parking security came with a tone telling my sister âYou donât know how to read!â No standing! Move your car. My sister didnât want to escalate anything so she moved it. Getting on line to check in. Well well to my surprise the room wasnât ready and no timeframe of when it was gonna be ready. To wait till Iâll get a text stating is ready. During the wait I was taken to concierge to be spoken about timeshare taking more time out of us trying to convince me to make time for a session during my stay. I Was not interested and the staff kept persisting. By then we were already frustrated because after driving so long we had no idea how long itâs gonna take for the room. By then Iâm already getting a migraine. We got there almost by 4pm check in time. We waited outside an hour passed by and still no room. Two hours passed, now itâs 6pm and mind you itâs my sister birthday. Spending our start in a parking lot. We had a cake which it was mentioned to the staff and they offered to keep it in their refrigerator till we get a room. Smh, how they expect us to keep her cake in their refrigerator! How does that sound?! Ok finally we got a place after my sister went back to demand a room. By then my migraine got worst my head wanted to explode. Got to the place while my sisterâs is setting up everything I had to laid down in the dark & try to relax my head. I felt bad cause I couldnât get up to celebrate my sisters birthday. She got to decorate it but practically spend it by herself. The next day my birthday sister & my niece which itâs her grand baby woke up to ants đ on them while they were sleeping. All over the wall, window sill the bed & floor. We called the maintenance man. He came sprayed the area. My sister took the covers washed it but the maintenance man took everything else on the bed including the pillows and put in the bag and placed it outside for it to be picked up. Which by the time we left the place those bags was still outside. Now the bed where the ants was on the mattress was stained to what looks like to be blood. The rug in the other room was stained as well. The maintenance man said he requested for clean bedsheets and pillows to be bought to us. Four hours later no one has shown up. I called the office come to find out that the request was not reported. The lady on the phone wanted us to wait within a hour that someone would bring it. Did they forget we are on our vacation. They want us to continue to waste our time waiting on them. We waited another hour & just before stepping out because we got tired of waitingâŚ. Do you believe a bag of blankets was left by the outside door & they did not let us know that it was left outside. Smh, which btw, they only brought blankets, bedsheetâs & toiletries no pillows no mattress pads. During my stay, I had to go to urgent care of how sick I got being in there. My other two sisters felt sick as well but I got the worst. Was in bed for days. The place is beautiful but the service is bad. Let me not talk about the WiFi.. WiFi sucks!!!! TV basic service sucked!! Nothing to watch. We would not...
Read moreHILTON GRAND VACATION Owner stayed through RCI exchange*|Upon check in, they did not put us in the unit advertised. Instead of the Fairway, we were put in River Village 2. When questioned, the front desk said that these units are more updated. I had to take their word. When I got to the unit, the first thing I noticed was the amount of trash all over the parking lot. Including blue rubber gloves (same gloves used as the housekeeping that walked pass said trash multiple times that day) and 2 white bath towels that were just sitting between cars. I watched a YouTube review of a Fairway unit and it was way nicer than the River Village. The inside unit of River Village was acceptable. |After checking in and receiving our unit number, we were then told to go to the Ownerâs Desk right next to the check in desk. We still didnât receive our bracelet keys fobs so we proceeded to the next desk. ARLENE began handing us papers including a map and a brochure for Club Wyndham/RCI. She said âwe have you down for a presentation for Monday at 9:00. I said âHOLD UP, I did not sign up for a presentation. We already have a time share through Hilton/RCI thatâs who we are here?â|She said, âWe automatically put you in for a time.â I told her Iâm not interested. She said, âWell, I HAVE to out you in for somethingâ plus we need a credit card to put a $40 hold incase you donât show up. Then my husband handed her his credit card! I was not happy with him. But he was interested in a couple free nights at their Nashville property in return for 90 mins of our time. Plus they offered a $299 exchange fee credit on a future stay. (we have stayed at a RCI in PR and it was fine)|We did go to the 90 minute presentation. I started my timer as soon as they started talking. Then I said thank you, now where can I get this $40 returned? I told the sales person, He should be pissed that the front desk gave us to him. It was a waste of everyoneâs time. What we were promised after the 90 minute presentation was a free trip to one of their properties and since Nashville was on the list my husband said it would be worth it. But when we got the info for our free trip, we were expected to sit through ANOTHER 2 HOUR presentation. NO way.||One of the brochures that lured us in to this nightmare presentation was the info on RCI. These points were never brought up in the presentation (as HGVC we have access to RCI and were interested in learning more about RCI). When I would tell them I wanted to know more about RCI, the sales person would go right back into pitching Wyndham. ||Also, when I told the sales person that I wasnât happy that we werenât put in the Fairway which what was stated in the RCI exchange website. He said âwell thatâs for the owners. How would you like it if non-owners stayed at owner units and basically messed them up. - So thatâs why we looked at trash all week. I took offense that we were not considered âownersâ Hilton has an agreement with RCI so I do believe we should have been treated as such. ||One star because of the PUSHY SALES PRESENTATION. |The resort is large so you have to drive. Iâll give the facilities 3 stars. They were nice to have since we had kids with us. I only opened the door to the pool. It was so heavy chlorinated. I never went in the pool or hot tub. |Would I go back? Hmm maybe. I would just tell them right off the back, hand me my bracelets, I will NOT do a sales...
Read moreDecided to trade in our timeshare week to come to the Poconos this year with the family. Iâd like to give a higher rating but canât justify sugar coating this review. Very unimpressed. The parking situation is ridiculous, we requested (before we arrived) a room with handicapped parking nearby but when we checked in we were told that parking is chaotic and they canât guarantee a spot... that weâre better off dropping off my disabled grandparents near the room and then find parking and walk back. I refuse to leave my grandmother who is completely blind on the side of a parking lot while I drive around to find parking. After checking in, finding a parking spot and lugging all our luggage to the porch of our room we found out all 4 keycards we were given did not open our door, called the main desk for them to tell us they would send security to help us, after waiting 45 minutes outside the room we finally decided to have a member of our party drive back to the main office to get new room keys.. maintenance/security never came and nobody called back to check in. The suite was OK, the AC unit only cooled the downstairs, no matter the temp we adjusted it to. The furniture was dated, and wasnât the cleanest. We called in to request fans for the upstairs bedrooms along with some other supplies including a comforter and throw blankets for the pull out sofa, we received sheets and a duvet cover but no comforter. And received one fan - they told us thatâs all they had left, which is fine we dealt with it. At this point, I was a little annoyed with everything thus far but was still willing to overlook everything and try to enjoy our 8 day stay. Unfortunately that wasnât the end of our disappointment. Out of the 2 outdoor pools, indoor pool and inside jacuzzi we experienced problems every time we tried to visit any of them. Each time was always a different excuse as to why it was closed... âshort staffed, no life guard, someone puked in the pool, had to be cleaned etcâ although itâs kind of suspicious that someone messed the pool at the same time numerous nights. One of the nights we arrived at the indoor pool at 7:30 pm and was told that the pool would re open at 8pm, so we hung around the area and visited the gift shop. We came back inside to go into the pool area at 8pm like they said only to wait in a line at the door listening to 7 life guards laugh and joke around at the desk. One of whom walked over to the pool door numerous times only to keep saying â6 more minutes... 3 more minutes, now only 2 more minutesâ finally around 8:11pm he unlocked the door. The following day we decided to call in first BEFORE getting my grandparents dressed in their swimsuits and ready to go, on the phone we were told âof course the pool is open! We donât normally close unless thereâs an unforeseen event, and the pool needs to be closed.â So we loaded up the car and drove to the indoor pool, once we sat down a life guard came over to tell us the pool is actually closed until 8:10pm for âcleaningâ although there was nobody cleaning the pool or any other staff member in site. At this point it was 7:35 pm, so even after we just spoke to someone who assured us the pool was open we again had to wait. Check out is tomorrow morning, fingers crossed the rest of our stay is okay. Very disappointed with this Wyndham location, I guess we know better for next year not to...
