The Black Pine Inn was an exceptional find as I was traveling between Idaho and Utah! First of all, don't be intimidated by the rate, I found it to be a great bargain while offering very clean and comfortable accommodations. I stayed in a king room and everything worked properly. The bed and pillows were comfortable and smelled fresh. The recliner was clean and functional and was a great spot to sit while I worked on my laptop before bed. The TV and cable were easy to figure out with a single remote. WiFi password was on the information sheet and worked wonderful. The shower, sink, toilet, fridge, and microwave all did their job as needed. Even the linens were better than many I've seen at hotels twice this price. No spots, no stains, no tears, etc. just a quality product that did its job.
The rooms are well decorated and instructions to get in are easy and quick if you arrive after hours. I didn't see any staff as I was only there for about 12 hours and that was fine by me. I had never been through Snowville but am looking for reasons to come back this way to spend a few more days at this quaint little spot close to everything...
Read morePerfect stopping point as you cross over the idaho planes into the Utah mountaints. The lady who answered the phone was sweet as can be even as late as we called. They had a lockbox outside so we were able to get into the room even after hours. Our room was my lucky number (which is obviously an important factor.) The room was clean and cute, we even left a tip behind as we adored the personal touches added! The room did have a chill to it, but we didn't mind in the Utah heat. They also had blankets and a heater available in the room. The price was cheap and perfectly located just off the freeway with a little gas station next door.
Bonus: This little town was so cute I had to look it up! We were running way behind scheduled and ended up staying on the 4th of July, so we weren't able to try the dining across the way, but there are 2 little places to choose from. I did try to go back a couple weeks later but there was an hour long wait. (I hope thats due to how good the food is!) I found out that only 167 people lived there in the 2010 census! I am so curious how much that number has...
Read moreI wish this was a review based on staying here but alas we were not given a room. We are Canadians travelling to a competitive dog sports event in Colorado and we needed to get a room after travelling for 13 hours. But when the receptionist (who was kind enough regardless) informed me that the hotel room was "too small" for my dogs and would not accommodate us we had no choice but to carry on. This despite the fact that there appeared to be only 1 room occupied in the entire motel. We travel regularly throughout Canada and the USA and we are quite used to small hotel rooms and our dogs are crated in pairs. Judging by the pictures online the room was plenty of space for us. We were looking forward to going out to eat at the diner across the street also but guess we know better than to try and stay here again. Again, the receptionist was polite enough. But just overall a very disappointing experience. Beware if you have dogs that this hotel might turn you away. Dog fee $20 per...
