I'd like to give Soap Lake Natural Spa Resort more stars..however... Check in was fast and friendly and the office is beautiful. Thinking the office was a reflection of what our room was going to be we were thrilled! The good, Dog friendly! The grounds are darling! There are thoughtful bits of whimsy scattered throughout. The resort offers different areas for different activities. A game area, places to barbecue, other areas to simply relax and take in the views. There is a hot tub, two small saunas and some adorable hanging chairs. There's also a pretty nice game room. Soap Lake is a marvel! I've read the history of it and it's fascinating. Again, the grounds are lovely and welcoming. But we didn't sleep outside, we stayed in cottage number 30. Cottage 30 is an adequate sized cottage. It has just about everything you would need. and the bed was quite comfortable. Towels and linens were both good quality. The water pressure is fantastic and we thoroughly enjoyed the mineral springs water in the tub. We appreciated the cute little patio in front and It is blissfully quiet here The not so good, aesthetically the room is horribly outdated to the point of run down. The fixtures are dirty, stained and dull. The tub was coated with a weird powdery substance, which I cleaned. There are limited wall outlets and they are loose, The light over the kitchenette was sketchy and took quite a while to come on and flickered. We finally gave up on it. Our cottage was stuffy and there was quite a bit of moisture on the windows. (Which we were unable to open). The windowsills were dirty and there were dead bugs on it. The blinds on the window did not keep the light out. Very unpleasant when you're staying in a hotel and vacationing. Blackout drapes or something similar would be appreciated. Last but not least, the TV required two different remotes. One to control volume the other to control everything else. Honestly this place *could be a gem, a true treasure with some TLC and some updating. Pay attention to detail. Because when it comes right down to it, it's all in the details regardless of how small they are. This is a Resort? The color scheme in this cottage is undistinguishable and lacks that soothing vibe. We had booked for two nights, however we are going to leave today. We would return but I believe we would stay in a cabin. I think what bothers me the most is that I had to clean things in the room before I felt comfortable using them. Please see the photos which will be attached to this review.

I've stayed several times over the last couple of years. I'm a local and I only go for the hot tub jets, as I have major back pain and problems and the jets help. Even though there's 5 hot tubs, it seems to be hit or miss as to whether they are filled, clean and hot. During my last stay, 4 of the 5 were filled however all 4 were tap water cold temp. 2 smelled funky and had quite a bit of yuckies floating on top. The staff did try to accommodate and put me in a whirlpool tub room but it just wasn't the same. The jets weren't as strong and trying to scrunch down to get them on my upper back was very difficult and awkward and I gave up quickly so I didn't hurt myself. I did ask this last time if I can call the morning of my next reservation to verify that there are clean, hot, filled hot tubs ready and was told yes, thank goodness. It's very odd how 2 of the tubs smelled so funky and had so much stuff floating in them, even though the front desk staff said they'd just been cleaned, especially since I only saw 1 other guest the entire time. And the hot tubs were hot the morning of my check out, per the front desk, but that didn't help me any the night of my stay. I have owned a hot tub previously and I do understand that they take hours to heat up. I also understand that the staff is having issues with guests turning off the tubs, which doesn't help the matter. During one of my other stays this year, someone entered my room while I was using the bathroom, with no knock or anything. They exited very quickly when I called out. The bathroom was only a few feet away from the door, which made me feel very vulnerable. When I called the front desk, the woman said it was probably just housekeeping and I didn't even get an apology. Now I make sure I put the do not disturb sign up, and I put a chair under the door lever too. As an older lady who goes alone, that was a very frightening experience. But I'll probably keep going, because it's the only pain relief that I get without pills from the doctor.

Our reservation was messed up from the dates to the actual room. They "upgraded" us to a lovely larger room with a nice view, but it was not cozy or homey as I'd wanted, but it is a nice large room. The problem with the room is it is above 3 hot tubs and a door that, when closed, would slam shut and shake the entire room. One night there were people coming in and out well passed quiet time, and at 11 pm, I finally had to ask them to please stop the door slamming and room shaking. Around the same time, the very rudimentary cable/wifi system for the entire spa, which was located IN THE BEDROOM of the room we were in, began to endlessly beep. I called the main number regarding this, and was forwarded to a gal that had apparently been fired that same day. She had no idea they'd continued forwarding calls to her. We simply unplugged the system, which disconnected all guest wifi. (We plugged it back in first thing the next day.) We were given zero information on what's offered at the spa, which it seems that almost EVERYTHING is NOT INCLUDED in the room rate, except private beach access, gym access and hot tubs. I might be wrong, but I don't know because we were, again, given zero information. I heard the resort has new ownership, and if they could get their act together, this place could be amazing, and the staff we encountered was friendly, yet in over their heads, would be my guess. All of that being said, it's a beautiful area and beautiful grounds. The lake is warm, gorgeous and quite lovely. The water and sand do make your skin very soft, and it's reported to have healing properties. There is a smell, and some flies, so heads up. There's a great local hike around the lake, as well as other hikes nearby. Soap Lake is a tiny town, but Ephrata and Moses Lake are close if you need supplies or medical care. I'd really like to say we'd come back because it is beautiful and unique. But unless and until they get their issues taken care of, we'll find somewhere else.

We had a pleasant stay at the hotel 6/11-13/21. Enjoyed the mineral water being pumped into our room's bathtub. Could tell it made a difference in our health/skin. The beautiful weather and lake views while relaxing in the swing chairs on the beach was worth it. The mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, tv,AC, wifi was appreciated. The coffee provided was weak. So pack your own. The ice maker is a walk also. You may want to bring extra containers with you to fill. Wish we were informed about the amenities when we checked in. There is a dry sauna, and hot tub near the restaurant. Used third party for booking. Wasn't aware of the paddle boats, hot tub, fire pits, lawn chairs, game room, pool table ect. Found them on our walk to beach. The hotel is clean although if you're expecting the convenience of most chain hotels you maybe disappointed. I mention the items below to help anyone be informed. We enjoyed our stay. For some they may want to book elsewhere. Parking is uncovered and a walk to your room with stairs to pack luggage up/down. It has a rotten egg / musty smell from the mineral water. You do get use to. I would think they could upgrade filters to get rid of it. The bed was a really soft. Could feel every move my husband made. The blankets/pillows could of been thicker. Good for summer I guess. The door locks are old, no key card. It takes a moment to get the door unlocked and relocked. It lacks some convenience such a telephone in the room to call the office for more towels. The Office is a walk from the rooms & staffed for only a few hours daily. Staff is friendly although seemed rushed to check us in. No room service due to Covid. Office hours are limited. No 24hr check in or out. We left early before 8am. There is a key drop box, if no one answered the # posted on office door. I had to use a stick on the sidewalk to push keys into it. The two outlets are behind the bed/ side table to plug in all your devices. One in the bath by sink. Could use a few more. The shower does go hot/cold if next door neighbor is using water. Thankfully you don't get burnt or frozen. No restaurant right now as renovations are being done. The Italian restaurant next door required reservation, so be informed. Pub was okay for pub food. The welcome book doesn't offer any information about nearby attractions or businesses to visit. So do your research before hand. Beautiful Lake Lenora is only 7 minutes away. View Point Canyon near Sun Lakes 20 minutes. Totally recommend Country Deli in Ephrata for Breakfast open at 7am. Moms European Market is a must for lunch. Little antique store very affordable, sweet store owner and you can get the Healing mud spa products there. The Healing Spa is by appointment only!! Enjoy your stay, just remember it's a small town with reduced hours...

So I have stayed here several times over the years. I have always loved the experience and everything involved. This makes me very sad to say, but I do not think I will be back again. I understand that they are renovating and improving, but the cost has literally doubled since I was here last time a couple years ago

First over the phone they told us we could use the paddle boards for a fee, and about all the new amenities. We decided to stay for my birthday on a weekend that was to be hot. When we enquired about the paddle boards after arriving they said we could not use them when the temperature is over 90 degrees, because of the potential for burns. Ok, that was ok but then when we asked about the game room that existed last time we stayed was not available either and under construction, even though that was not mentioned on the phone when making a reservation. I was disappointed but can understand that as well and wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt even though I used to love playing ping pong at least. We ended up buying inner tubes to make up for the lack of paddle boarding.

What disappointed me the most however was the state/cleanliness of the room. I guess paying an extra 100$ a night since the last time we were able to get out and stay anywhere, and the focus of renovations from the owners I expected more. Our TV remotes didn't even work, and we ran out of soap and had to buy some from the local store. We needed ice and on the map of the hotel there was shown two ice makers. We spent literally an hour looking for them around and could not find any. We ended up buying our own ice (thank god we had a cooler) and the next day were told there was no ice maker anymore (under construction). I was annoyed at that point but still trying to stay positive....

However the next night we couldn't find our key after returning from the bar and were locked out for 30 minutes. I didn't even have my car keys. We called the emergency line several times with no answer, thank god we found it on the ground after looking everywhere or we would have been totally screwed. In the past we had to call the emergency number and they sent out a plumber at 1 am, so I do not know what happened. That was the one unexceptionable thing to me. What would we have done? Anyway, I'm sooo very sorry to say I won't be staying here again, which saddens me a lot because I genuinely loved this place. I hope they improve because it has so much potential and is a special...
