Where do I even start? I called back in February to block of several rooms for my wedding. I was given the price of $82/night.||When it came time to book the rooms, Moe (Mo) the manager was angry and over the phone said, "I am going to yell at the person that booked these rooms. There is a race in town that weekend and I should be getting $200/night for each room. It took us more than 2 hours to get our rooms booked through him because he wouldn't listen to anything he was being told. ||The next day one of our wedding guests went to book his room through our block of rooms and Mandy charged him full price for his room the second night he was staying because he wasn't staying consecutive nights. I called her and she said, "I can't fix it because the reservation isn't there. She was uncooperative until I started getting testy with her about not listening. Then she replied, "You don't have to be so hateful." But then she magically found the reservation after I got testy with her.||||Now to our stay. I first of all want to say that we have been staying at this hotel every time we are in South Boston for years. We have loved this hotel up until this visit. ||||1. The grounds were GROSS. Littered with cigarettes, cans, and other sorts of litter. The breezeway was filled with bags of trash everywhere. At night when we walked past there, there were opossums digging in the trash that was laying everywhere. That happened 2 different nights of the 5 nights we were there.||||2. When I called to confirm our reservation the beginning of the week we came, I asked if the pool was going to be open. The front desk assured me it was going to be open and that they had just added chemicals to get it ready. What I found when I got there was a green, globby watered closed pool. It looked like a swamp, not a pool.||||3. On to our room. The couch is old and worn, had a tear in it and the coffee table looks like it's from the 70s. The bed was GREAT!! Some of the outlets didn't work.||||4. When we asked for fresh towels, we never got them. I had to go an get them myself after I had asked several times for them to be brought down. After we asked for towels later in our stay, they never did come and deliver us towels.||||5. Our door cards stopped working 3 of the 5 days we were there. Ridiculous! So did the other rooms we rented for our wedding guests.||||6. There is black mold on the bathroom ceiling and the tub was FILTHY. So was the floor in the area of the vanity. Like black dirty floor. That is completely unacceptable.||||7. The ironing board was filthy....like it has never been dusted. It was GROSS and I had to cover it with other clothes so I could iron my wedding dress for the wedding. Then when I went to iron my dress, black liquid came out of the iron and caused a stain in my wedding gown. ||||8. The freezer section of the refrigerator was frozen almost shut and needs to be defrosted.||||9. The plumbing in the bathroom pulls out of the wall when you try to start the shower. Like it pulls out inches from the wall, not a little wiggle.||||10. The breakfast was unbelievable. I was told when I called about the pool that the breakfast buffet would be open again. Yay! Well, here's what breakfast was. A mini yogurt and a tiny frozen sausage muffin thing. That is NOT a breakfast buffet. This ended up costing us much more money than we had budgeted for because we had to take our guests out to breakfast each morning to make sure they were fed. Not everyone can eat pork and many people are allergic to dairy. There should be more to choose from than what was offered. What about fruit? Cereal, etc?||||11. When we got there, there were dead bugs on almost every hard surface. Does anyone do anything to these rooms beyond making the beds?||||12. The carpet felt dirty, sticky, grimy. Again, when is the last time this place had a deep clean?||13. Paint is peeling off the walls, the wallpaper is stained and the room is in bad need of a deep clean and updating.||||13. The good things were the front desk staff that I interacted with was nice. The air conditioner was great! The bed was super comfy.||||In conclusion, you have lost us as customers. Years of a good relationship have ended. We spent nearly $1700 on rooms for ourselves and our out of town wedding guests and this was the worst experience I have ever had at this hotel. I am also going to be writing to the parent company to let them know. I am sure they would like to now how sub par this...
Read moreI stayed in #122 June 3-6, 2022. Pros: Check-in went well and the staff throughout my stay were friendly. The A/C unit was fairly new and worked very well. That's about the end of the pros. The room had a strange smell, the bath area was dirty, and covered in various lengths and colors of hair. It smelled so strongly of urine, I had to keep the fan running and door closed for my entire stay. The bathtub was nasty, dirty, moldy and the fixtures pulled out of the walls when turning them on. The electrical outlet pulled out of the wall in the sink area. The ironing board was crusty and dirty and the iron leaked water on my clothes. I encountered several spiders, beetles and something with about 100 legs, especially in the bath area. No bedbugs thank goodness. After walking on the carpet barefooted for a few minutes before showering, the bottom of the tub turned completely black from whatever my feet had picked up from the carpet. Microwave turntable was broken, and the freezer in the fridge was frozen almost completely shut. Did not sleep well due to rowdy guests outside being loud and using foul language until 3 or 4 am. Housekeeping took my used towels and did not replace them the first day. The next day they took the rest, leaving me with no towels. I requested some and they said they would bring them in 20 to 30 minutes. 6 hours later I had to hunt them down and get towels from them. No bathmat, or bath soap any of the days. I had to put Walmart bags in the trash cans because they did not line the cans. The pool is closed and full of green, swampy-looking water. The sign says it is down for maintenance. It looks like it has been down for a long time. The breakfast would probably be great, if they had one. Of the 3 mornings I was there, they only had food once, a paper bag with a frozen sausage thing and a cup of yogurt. I would like to see one of the rooms that was given a 5-star review. I'm pretty sure I was not in one of those. This is not a $168/night hotel. My opinion? $68 would be too much. If I can figure out how, I plan to send a copy of this to the corporate office also. Would never...
Read moreThis is a no star hotel. But I can’t pick no stars so here we go. First off I made reservations for A non-smoking room. Upon arrival the room smelled like a pack of cigarettes as soon as we walk in. My Wife has severe allergies and asthma, so the cigarette smell triggered a reaction and she was sick afterwards. We informed the front desk of this issue of having a non-smoking room that smell like smoke, the front desk clerk named Heather said that she would write it down so that we were not charged for Something that we did not do. Which intern she almost forgot to write down the issue until I showed up to the front desk because the vending machines had took my money. Upon request to be moved to another room we were denied because The motel was full with no rooms available. Once you make reservations for this hotel you were not allowed your money back. So I had no funds to rent another room because I could not get refunded. And we ended up having to stay in the room anyway. My Wife woke up severely ill to the point where her face was swollen from the reaction she couldn’t breathe and she had a headache. Trying to tell the general manager about the situation, on a Saturday might I add, and he would not acknowledge it because he was sleeping. I do a thorough check of rooms when I come to stay and I understand that this is a quality inn however, I paid for a weekend rate that was over $150, and I could not even utilize the shower or the bathroom. The reason being is because there is black mold growing on the walls in the bathroom, in the shower, around the toilet, which Intel could also contribute to the reaction that My Wife had. Like I said if I could give no stars to the quality inn in South Boston Virginia then that’s what I would do. In acknowledging my situation, the front desk clerk Maria was the only one that showed Remorse concerning the situation we were in. I apologize for such a long review but I probably will give another one but it will be shorter so I know you will read it. I do not recommend this hotel at all. And I don’t wish any of my worst enemies to even...
