First off, the smoke detector. Immediately upon walking in to our room we noticed it missing. Maintenance came up and installed a new one, but would not test it. This is absolutely inexcusable and unsafe. I immediately called the front desk to ask to for a different room. I was told there were none available for the weekend. The General Manager mentioned that one reason we were not reimbursed is that we stayed in the room. We had NO CHOICE. They also said that they could have given the room to someone else. I sent the pics to them and asked if they'd feel comfortable assigning this room to another guest...no response.
The room was in rough shape. Laminate flooring was coming up, wall trim was crumbling, the furniture was damaged, the toilet paper holder was broken, the carpet was unraveling, there was paint splatter over most of the floor in the bathroom, I could go on.
The parking situation is another issue that was not addressed. Guests should have first priority for parking, instead the property has a long-term airport parking revenue stream at the expense of guests. We literally had to illegally park along a curb near the dumpster behind the kitchen and carry our sleeping children to the other side of the property. Again, unacceptable. All for the sake of the property making money off of offering parking for people utilizing the adjacent airport.
Now to the Event Connect (third party booking for basketball tournament "stay to play" mandate). For two nights we paid nearly $500 after local taxes. This does not represent a substantial discount whatsoever, as stated by the General Manager. Looking at their daily rates it's very average. I don't want to hear that prices are much higher that weekend due to the basketball tournaments in the area. Thats just gouging...Regardless, look at those pictures. Would you be comfortable paying over $230 a night for that? No, not likely.
These are real issues that necessitate a payment credit. It absolutely CAN be done. I was told this is impossible. I gave the local management team an opportunity to fix this and the General Manager offered of 2 night stay, which is a nice gesture, but I live over 5 hours away, and this credit will never be redeemed. They know this. Why would we stay there again when they made no intention of resolving the issues? I reached back out and they did not respond to me after numerous attempts. We have no intention of visiting Spokane in the...
Read moreThis hotel is amazing, they have a few outdoor yard games, 3 fire pits with ample seating I can't decide if the slide or the free breakfast was better.
A very clean parking lot with tons of parking near your hotel room, pet friendly and super kis friendly.
There is a pool that goes up to 7ft, a small pool for tiny/young children and it is a very nice warm temperature compared to the pool. Lastly there is the slide, it is a decent size, weight restriction of 300lbs max and minimum of 48" inches tall to ride. The hours for the slide are crappy, they need the lifeguard there for it to be running, hours are 4pm - 9pm. But the pool is open morning to late evening which is very nice offering many opportunities to swim.
The room was very clean up check in, the sheets were clean and the bed was nice and tidy, the bathroom is a very good size. My only issue with the hotel room was the 7in long pillows that were on the bed, not the most comfortable. They had 48 channels to choose from even offered kid friendly channels which was amazing.
Free breakfast? That's all I have to hear to get out of bed early LOL. Breakfast hours are 6am - 9am however they do offer breakfast items at the front desk starting as early as 4am for the early birds. They have two phenomenal waffle makers, eggs, sausage, potatoes, cereal, cream cheese and bagels, toast, honey, donuts, juice, coffee, yogurt, and fresh fruit. All in all the perfect way to start your morning, I woke up around 8:30am and there was still plenty of food and drinks so don't feel you need to rush down at 6am.
They also have a little 24/7 market located by the front desk, the prices are steep but for convenience. As well as a bar that also offers food. I took a photo of the food. This meal was my least favorite part of the entire hotel stay. Super over priced for dry fries and a burger that was flavorless and you needed a sauce and drink to get through the entire meal. My mom had the fried rice, it's equivalent to Safeway fried rice, the chicken strips were super overdone and too dry to even eat. I will never purchase from the restaurant in the hotel again, I am warning others.
I will come back to this hotel for sure, I got an amazing deal for my stay through a hotel website I recommend you do the same! My kids absolutely adore the hotel, it definitely feels like a little vacation and not just your...
Read moreDisappointing Stay – Not Family-Friendly as Advertised
We recently stayed at the Ramada by Wyndham Spokane Airport and unfortunately, the experience fell far below expectations.
We specifically chose this hotel for its advertised family-friendly amenities—especially the pool and waterslide—but were incredibly disappointed. The pool was murky with visible grime and slimy buildup at the bottom, making it feel unsafe for children. The waterslide was closed all weekend, with a sign stating it would only operate if a lifeguard was present. Despite it being a weekend, no lifeguard ever showed up. If the slide isn’t reliably available, that should be clearly communicated before booking—especially when charging a premium for it.
The room we booked was advertised to accommodate five people, but included only two queen beds and no mention of needing to pay extra for a rollaway cot. We were surprised to be charged $15 per night for the cot, which was uncomfortable and poorly padded. The room itself was small and felt far too cramped for a party of five.
Cleanliness throughout the property was also lacking. The bathroom had visible pink grime in the tub, there was only one tiny trash can for the entire room, and the hallways and lobby were dimly lit with sticky, dirty carpets—giving the entire property a neglected feel.
To add to the frustration, staff misinformed us about breakfast hours, telling us it ran until 10 a.m. when it actually ended at 9. As a result, our group missed breakfast entirely.
This stay did not reflect the standards of a 3.5-star hotel. Based on our experience, it more closely resembled a 1.5-star property. We booked in good faith expecting a clean, comfortable, family-friendly stay—and that’s not what we received.
I urge Wyndham to review this property's listings for accuracy and consider updating them to set proper expectations for...
