Riverside Park Campground — Hotel in Springfield

I would like to say that I don't like writting bad reviews. It saddens me to do so. But, proof and truth are needed to be heard. Kids love to camp. Parents should be warned when kids and dogs are not allowed to enjoy the campground unless they are toddlers.

The bathrooms here are gross. Very very dirty. The showers have absolutely no water pressure. The picnic tables are warn and full of splinters. That is if you can get 1 of the 12 sites that have a table. They have no hiking trail map. There is no playground.

Came back again because of location. The bathrooms are still gross. I don't think anyone cleans them. They painted the floors but didn't let the paint cure before using the showers. They are still from 1980's. There is always plenty of free firewood. Bring an ax!! The campground host is a stalker. Everytime I come home within 30 mins he has to come talk to me about something but, toilet paper is never in the barhrooms.

It is a nice cove of peace off the edge of the city.

So we have paid for a 2 months. This is what happened today. We have some old people who don't like my 1979 camper and my dogs being out on chains durring the day. I have even planned grass seed and made a safe firepit because the grounds people don't put love into the park. They just get paid by the hr to do the minimal and they don't supply safe firepits but alow burning. We also were told that we can no longer have our tent up. Which is where the teenager sleeps when he is here. We come here for the summer so he can spend time with his dad. I get him when he chooses or on weekends. So my tent forsure is never up more than 3 continous days. That is how the rules read. So we will pay the $15 dollar a day cost for the tent. We were following the rules. After the cops visited me with an empty tent and just me at the camper. I had been alone since 5 pm. All the stepmoms came and picked up their daughters. When I came to the park I was told I could have my sons 2nd birthday party here at the park. I didn't. I had it at Lincoln park and can show the reciept. Lincoln park has a beautiful playground for kids of all sizes. I am told now guests are not alowed in the park. That isn't in the rules that are handed to you when you pay. My question is if there has been complains all weekend why are the cops just now coming on Tuesday?????? Oh it's that $15 fee for not breaking the rules.

Tom this is Coresta. I have just talked to my Army Ranger Partrooper husband. He and his 3 daughters and my teenage sons need to ne added. When he gets leave we will get to all be together. So I need new form. I know forsure without adoubt my 16 year old son was here when we came from Florida. He was forsure in the car for 22 hrs. I know forsure without a doubt I was not here on saturday at all. I went to Lincoln Army base and was with my husband. I had to check in. I am sure I can get a copy of the check in and out. Sunday and monday I had 3 girls. 7 8 and 11. I know they forsure were not drinking or parting or in bathrooms unless they had to poop. Because I dont have a sewer and that smell is horrible. So I need new form!!! I never filled out a form. I also want a copy of form I filed out. I have very distinguished handwritting. I know for sure If I filled it out my son would be on there. Forsure.

Also attached are photos of the bathrooms. I have been here awhile. They always look like this. I go to the truck stop to shower. Can provide receipts. We only use the bathrrom to poop because our site has no sewer. They have two bathrooms. The one far far away from out campsite is worse than the one that is close. There is a post on here that is far from truthful. This is not the only campground around that is less than $700 a month with water. The Illinois State Fairgrounds in about a 1/2 mile away and they have full hookup for $425 a month. The truth is some people know they cannot go there because they know that the stuff they do here would get them arrested over there. If you live like a slob and leave trash all over and have been asked and then warned to clean up you should have the police called. Probably even Public Health as no one else wants to smell your trash or have to clean it up when the animals get in it. ||||If you have children it’s YOUR responsibility to watch them. Not the campground. If you children make a mess clean it up. There is no playground. They bathrooms are full of dead bugs. The floors are very very dirty. The host at lot 68 is very pushy. We were waiting for our uncle from Nebraska to get there so we used the bathrooms and went back to our car to wait. He was about 1.5 hrs away. We thought it would be okay to sit and wait for him. The park only had about 10 campers at most. Very empty park. He came and talked to us 8 times about how having 2 cars will cost an extra $5 and more than 2 adults will be an additional $5. We said that is great. When my uncle gets here we will settle the cost. In 1 hr. He came by the car 8 times. We kept tell him how much longer until he gets there. The 9th time he knocked on the window we called our uncle and told him to go to lake Sangchris. This guy doesn't understand English we need a campground that understands what 1.5 hrs means. We dont need that kind of stress in a family get together. We were planning on 3 campsites. That is worth much more than $5 a car. Sangchris had the openings.
