During a two part vacation we decided to stay more local to home, a little stay cation. We chose the days inn mainly for the nice sized outdoor pool as we had two teenagers with us. The room was mediocre, mostly clean. Small/cramped for 4 people in a double room but we didn't mind and made due. First morning breakfast was good, nice selection of hot and cold food. The problem came when my kids went to the pool while the hubby and I relaxed, just as I was getting dressed to head down to hang with the kids they came through the door complaining that there were adults making them uncomfortable and drinking pretty heavily. I went to the front desk and to thier credit they did send someone down to ask them to quiet down and be mindful of other folks because family's were there. When I got to the pool one of the "women in charge" confronted me asking if I had gone to the front desk in which I told her yes. We're all for people partying and enjoying them selves. But be respectful about it. For the hour plus I was there to make sure my kids could comfortably play they made it abundantly clear we were not going to be able to cohabitate like adults and one woman jumped in the pool by my 15 year old son and asked him if she offended him. I almost lost my ever loving mind. We paid to enjoy the space just as much and we're not going to be able to do that so we checked out days early and went to another hotel in the area and was able to enjoy the rest of our days. This hotel isn't terrible, but unfortunately the other guests were the issue this past weekend and as I was told " welcome to jamboree weekend" so I would recommend anyone with family traveling the third weekend in July try to avoid at all cost. Those inconsiderate humans seemed to have been regulars during that weekend so just don't bother it's not worth the aggravation that people at that age can't have some common courtesy , when I'm trying to teach my kids that being a decent human being is a good thing and we don't behave like...
Read moreHow anyone can rate this as anything other than disgusting, I have no idea. Walked in the lobby to check in and the lobby reeked of cigarette smoke. I booked a non-smoking room; confirmed at check-in it was non-smoking; sign on the door to the room says non-smoking; opened the door and the room smelled musty and like faint old smoke, and there was an ashtray on the desk in the room. Bathroom smelled like mildew, especially when we showered and the shower curtain got wet. Carpet was filthy. Toilet only flushed after multiple attempts. Toilet seat was too small for the toilet, so you sit half on the seat and half on the actual bowl of the toilet. Shower drain was slow so you stand in puddled water while you shower. Tray on counter that holds coffee pot, cups, etc had crumbs and gunk on it. Disposable cups that are individually wrapped were dripping wet. Hair dryer cord (not that I use it, but it was sitting on the counter) used to be white but is brown and tan with caked-on dust & gunk. There were only three towels/ washcloths in a room I booked for four people. But I needed to bathe/ put kids to bed immediately and didn’t have time to drive back to office to ask for another towel. I booked here because it is called “Days Inn by Wyndham,” but upon arrival, only the Days Inn brand is used (except the wet disposable cups in the room which say Wyndham). I mention this because I trusted “Wyndham” to be a little nicer / better reputation than Days Inn. Although even if this were just Days Inn, it would still be the nastiest Days Inn (actually, worst hotel of any type) I’ve ever stayed in. The only reason I actually stayed here for our one night was that I arrived after 10pm with three young children who were too tired to go searching for a more decent hotel. I will check out ASAP when we wake up. Also, there is no interior hallway - all rooms open directly to parking lot. Maybe this was mentioned in hotel info and I missed it, but I prefer interior hallways for...
