Over the last few decades I've stayed by myself in about six different hotels in the area between St. Mary's and Versailles. Most of the hotels I have stayed in several times. This was my first time at the Inn at Romer's. It is about mid price in the hotels that I have stayed in but I will try to stay here again in the future. First, the rooms are extremely clean. To me this was the most important thing. Secondly, St. Henry is a bucolic and safe town which is important when you are a woman traveling alone. The staff was also very accommodating with my requests for more washcloths. There are extra blankets in the room so you don't have to request them from the office if you get cold in the middle of the night. Even though I arrived after the designated check in hour, getting into my room was extremely simple as the desk clerk called me the day of my arrival and went over the procedure for late check in. The day I checked in it looks like 4 of us arrived after 5 pm. The lobby was well-lit and had huge windows overlooking the parking lot so it was not scary. There are only about 25 rooms which is perfect for this size of town. I was able to park very close to my room too so lugging my luggage around was minimal. It was close to some simple local eating establishments and the patio and back window overlook some kind of sports ball field if you are into that kind of thing. The only downside I could mention would be that there is no lotion or conditioner in the room but those are pretty minor, especially when considering how nice and clean...
Read moreSome of my family (a group of 9) stayed here in 3 of the rooms this past weekend for a wedding. We were so pleasantly surprised at how clean, well-appointed, and efficient the Inn at Romer's and the staff was.
We met Jason at check-in, and even though it was after hours, he stayed to show us the available amenities and talk to us about the area attractions. They provided an information sheet about the rooms, housekeeping, check-out procedures, and an insert listing several food and entertainment options in the vicinity.
There was a mini fridge and freezer in each room, as well as a large smart TV where we were able to log on to our own Netflix and other streaming accounts (and were even thoughtfully reminded to log out before leaving!). There was also a balcony with small patio furniture for every room that overlooked the local high school baseball fields.
The lobby was available 24/7, even when staff was not on-site, where there was complimentary access to a microwave, ice, extra towels, and a vending machine of various snacks or necessities you may have forgotten to bring.
Every interaction we had with the staff, both at the hotel and in the reception venue, was stellar. Everyone was very nice and accommodating. They truly thought of everything! I highly recommend the Inn at Romer's for your next stay in the St. Henry area, and I would definitely stay here again! Thank you for a positive,...
Read moreI am the queen of OCD when it comes to cleanliness. My family usually waits in the car until I find a place I will stay in. I have paid several hundred dollars on rooms before but NONE of them can compare to the cleanliness of The Inn at Romers! I stayed on the first floor and the floors were laminate. No more worrying about the need to wear shoes each time you walk to the bathroom. You can literally eat off the floors. (and walls too for that matter) This is family owned and operated and what a wonderful family they are. Everything was made easy from check-in to check-out. I also loved the fact that each room has its own private balcony complete with table, chairs and porch light. Alisha was a delight to meet and talk with. She shared with me a list of all the best places to eat and shop and anything else you need to know. This is a family that works hard and truly cares about their clients. I am refurbishing my grandparents home about five miles away so I will be staying in it from now on however, I plan to send all my family and visitors to The Inn at Romers. Once the house is complete I will remain in touch with Alisha. I feel as though I have made a friend. I would give this 10...
