This is a great place for a fun time. Wonderful for groups, couples, or families. Prices are fair, they hold onto your keys for you, and you can even get a cooler tube! Prices are for unlimited trips down the river with a shuttle and tube. You can take coolers with aluminum or plastic, but no glass (safety!). They will count your glass and aluminum beforehand and afterwards to make sure you don’t throw any in the water or otherwise litter (love that!!). They’ll charge you $5 per lost container. If you’re going down multiple times and want to get rid of your empties and get more from your vehicle or whatever you just check in with them about it and they will adjust your form at the office. The water is mostly shallow and slow going. They offer life jackets for free. I am a big life jacket wearer when I kayak, fish, or am otherwise on the water but I didn’t feel I needed it on the water. Our trip down the river took about 2.5 hours and one was enough for us (it was 90°F) but I could see doing it all day if you’re camping nearby. There’s food and drinks available at the campground and the staff was great. Definitely wear secure shoes, not flip flops. The bottom is rocky and the entry point is faster moving than the rest, so you will want secure footwear. The crew will offer you twine before leaving camp to tie your group’s tubes together. The only thing I wish I’d have brought was a paddle or oar, just so we could paddle away from other groups or rocks or the banks. Bigger groups had them and it was definitely useful. This was so much fun and I can’t wait to go back!

I went just for tubing and it was a blast! I brought my own tube so the cost was only $14 to ride the shuttle to the drop off point. You do need to leave your ID as a deposit for your cans and bottles you bring on the river, they keep it clean and make sure folks are respecting nature and the river! The folks at Voyagers are all great and super friendly. The river was perfect, it took like 2.5 hours to float down. Several little spots to stop and chill enjoy the scenery and just swim. The only thing I didn't like was that you had to pay for showers in the bathroom for tubers, it's a quarter machine I believe it was either $1.50 or $2.00. There are no signs that let you know so it was definitely unexpected, I didn't have any change (they will gladly hook you up in the general store) everything else was top notch I look fwd to camping out next time as well as tubing again! Will definitely be tubing multiple times this summer

This is a beautiful campground in N/W Minn located right on the Red Lake River. Campground has been here for decades and has, historically, been primarily a tent campers grounds. Still is mostly, but they are slowly adding more RV amenities. Very large, immaculately maintained grass property. Tent areas are very thoughtfully laid out, each with a power pedestal (110/30amp) and water with a dedicated picnic table, fire ring and trashcan at each site. While not designed for RV’s they gladly welcomed us and placed us in a double tent site right on the river. Had 30 amp power which was fine in the mild (low 80’s) temps we had and water. No sewer, but there is a dump station on the property. Staff makes rounds greeting campers and making sure everyone has what they need, including delivering firewood directly to your site. The campground is a major river-tubing outfitter, many daytrippers come to rent tubes and take the campground shuttle to the drop in point, about 4 miles upriver for a fun and relaxing float back down to the campground. Owners are very enthusiastic and have great management skills. All staff are super friendly and eager to assist. Park is developing a newer RV area that has a dozen sites (away from the river) that have FHU and 50 amp power. Two bathhouses are kept clean and tidy. Overall, a wonderful park on a beautiful setting. If you can get by on 30 amp and water, ask for a site by the river. Would definitely return. Closest town is Red Lake Falls which is small. Couple of hole in the wall diners and a small grocery. You should do major provisioning before getting here. Must go river tubing. Tube rental is $12 for all day and you can make as many runs as you can (takes about 2 hours). Water is mostly calm and smooth with a couple of small faster areas (maybe class 1). Very...

I was extremely disappointed with our last experience here in during August Long Weekend in 2015.

We are Canadians who have been to VV since 2012 and found that they implemented several new rules to ruin all the fun we once had here.

Few Issues: At exactly 11pm (no lights, music, guitars or even music playing out of a phone which is barely audible over a small fire) No games (including drinking, card games, or anything that can/could be perceived as a "game") No friendly gatherings at other campsites to meet new people or even join the ones that came down with you, but stayed on another site.

The worst part is, they always had these rules but only enforced them when there was a group or a situation where there was a need to enforce them. The casual campsite fun was totally stifled and actually created more problems than if they decided to let the small stuff slide. There was no more friendly stop ins from others, no more group games and certainly no more fun central points to meet.

That being said, the staff in the front office are friendly delightful and the patrol units did their absolute best to not come off as enforcers and tried to gently push the new agenda (didn't really work).

The one thing that truly bugs me is that we as Canadians are obviously coming down for the long weekend to have a good time. 99% of the campers during this time will be there for a party and for the image that VV has so proudly displayed for years. It is only AFTER you give them your money and show up that you learn of these new rules.

It is disappointing to put an end to our yearly trip down to Red Lake Falls and VV. By the time they come to their senses and see that they're driving away future business like crazy, it will be to late and other places like Apple River will have already taken...
