I'm going to start off saying the people here are very nice I will give them that and this was a last minute booking because our previous hotel decided to cancel our reservation 2 hours before we arrived BUUUUTTTT this hotel needs to be CLOSED! Firstly it's in the worst part of St Louis, like abandoned buildings EVERYWHERE, first red flag! But it was after check in time so we had no choice but to stay because we were going to be charged anyway. The closest walmart is like 15-20 minutes away. The closest food places were like 16-20 minutes away but anyway We got put into room 307 first, as soon as we walk in there were ROACHES everywhere, I mean EVERYWHERE! On the coffee pot, on the walls, on the floor, in the microwave just everywhere! I was completely shocked! The top cover of the bed had cigarette burns all over it even more shocking because why would you leave this here like that and it was on BOTH beds. I let them know and they gladly moved me to another room 219. This particular room WAS cleaner and smelled better but you know once you see once roach that doesn't go away. We had to keep our clothes sitting on the ironing board in the middle of the floor and in the computer chair. As we were getting ready to go to bed and things settled down I started seeing roaches come from behind the refrigerator and under the microwave. We literally got no sleep because we were so worried about the roaches getting into our things so we were up watching all night. The heaviest cover on one bed had hair all over it so we ended up just laying under our own blankets. The bathroom ceiling was molded and looked like it was about to cave in so we didn't shower luckily we showered before we travelled. The wall in the bathroom looked like someone threw up on it and they partially cleaned it off. I originally booked for two days but decided to leave the next day instead because I just wasn't comfortable staying there. Called the front desk multiple times before leaving and never got an answer. The walls need to be cleaned, the floors were not vacuumed and once we pulled the sheets off the bed they were not clean as well. This caused us to end our trip and return home early because all the other hotels were completely booked or overpriced due to last minute booking. Not to mention when we checked out there was guy sitting on the couch talking to himself and cursing profusely and loudly while my children were standing with me. I would NOT recommend this hotel AT ALL or you will be taking home critters with you. If I knew code enforcement number or the health department phone number I would have definitely called because that can't be fair to people! My kids felt were better off sleeping...
Read moreWhen we first checked in, we were greeted by a friendly and helpful gentlemen. When we first got into our room, things were askew and we noticed tons of hair and debris around the bed. When we were adjusting the mattress to get things back in order, we found a knife! The gentlemen from the front desk came and retrieved it and apologized saying "his cleaning crew was going to kill him". This should have been a red flag that the bedding wasn't as clean as it looked. We slept OK but when we were getting ready in the morning, we noticed dark spots on the bed spring covering. Concerned, we pulled back the blankets to be met with live bed bugs! We asked someone from the front desk to come in immediately. From the front came a young woman who seemed wholly unconcerned at our discovery. She knocked a few minutes later as we were panicking and trying to inspect our belongings to avoid taking an infestation home, and apologized, discounting our stay a whopping $15. We explained that that was simply not acceptable, so she let us know that the manager would be starting his shift at 2pm and would contact us. We have not heard from the manager and have not been able to get in contact with him. Through e-mails with Wyndham, we have been basically ignored and told that they hope we enjoy our next stay with them. This is disgusting and infuriating. It doesn't matter if you are staying in a hotel that charges $50 a night or $500, this just shouldn't happen. In the event that it does, it should not be...
Read moreFleas! Cockroaches! Blood on the wall! Pubic hair on floor and toilet! Tub plunger on edge of tub instead of drain! Detritus along most of the walls! That's just the bathroom.
Sleeping area and bed, air conditioning and refrigerator were acceptable. Thin walls that transmitted the adjoing rooms occupants conversation, television and snoring disturbing.
Brought insect samples to night clerk. She was sympathetic, took pictures of the insects and offered to comp room. I thanked her and said that I would speak with the manager in the morning.
Upon checkout manager was evasive and suggested that the bugs were probably fruit flies, that we must have brought them with us, would not look at the 20+ photos taken in the room and stonewalled comping. He also insisted that industry policy required guests to report any problems or issues within thirty minutes and the motel's liability ended if reported later.
Sat in lobby to call Wyndham customer service. Learned that complaint would be forwarded to motel management and that they then had a week to respond/rectify. Augh!
When asked if this was the way he would respond to a family member of his own, in the same situation, he stated that he would pay for their stay from his own pocket. Sigh.
A thorough disappointment. Flee from the fleas and unyeilding management. Find another place to stay.
Update 6/18- No contact from motel management or regarding complaint made to Chain...
