This was the second summer I stayed at The Lighthouse Inn for this conference. It was half the price of the King's Pointe Water Park Resort (Water Park passes can be purchased even if you don't stay at the Resort) that is across the street. Storm Lake is across the street and presents a beautiful view. The walking/bike trail that goes around the lake is also accessible across the street. A bike rental shop is next door. I felt this location was very safe and would bring my family here for a fun stay with the attractions I mentioned so close. The traffic is well controlled by stop lights & slow speed limits. I noticed the police cruise the area on a regular basis, as well as other parts of the city where there are gift shops and restaurants. ||The Lighthouse Inn is nostalgic and reminds me of places my family stayed back in the '60's & 70's. It is updated with classic decor that is different in each room to depict waterfront or sailing design colors and furniture. A large flat screen TV with Cable stations sets on a full size dresser. WIFI was free and I didn't experience any problems doing work on my computer, that sometimes happens at larger hotel facilities. I liked the large mirror in the room that I could sit and use my curling iron. The economical pricing cuts down on some perks such as a hair dryer, microwave and refrigerator, but I didn't need these items so why pay extra for them! The room and bathroom were very clean, the air conditioner was exceptional, the bed was comfortable with an abundance of pillows to stack up, kick back and relax watching TV or do some work. The wonderful owners check you in and greet you when you leave to make sure you are comfortable and had...

The first 2 owners we extremely nice and we never had any problems with. I didn't need housekeeping because I'm there all day have my own cleaning supplies, vacume, bedding, towels, etc. However they would come in once in awhile just to check the room out which was always clean. The new owners. Who took over end of September would go into are room as soon as they saw us leaving. They have no experience running a motel . The guy gets drunk and reeks of liquor. They're now saying we left the room trashed. Little do they know I take pics Everytime we leave a place. The room. Was never ever trashed or dirty. If you like to stay in a motel with black mold and inches of dust then this is the place for you oh and a. Drunk obnoxious new owner that tries to charge you for stuff...
Read moreI am rating this a 1 because of the fact I found a bed bug and was told over and over that I brought it in. I explained to the gentleman that the bed bug was found when I lifted the covers for the first time and nothing of mine was place on the bed. Still he stated it was probably me who brought this bug in because they cling onto things. I repeated myself stating that I found it under the covers when I lifted the covers up for the first time. He repeated “just saying this was probably brought in from you”. I got a full refund, however even though I explained how I found it. He still try to turn the tables onto me. I get it, it’s something that happens and employees may need to be more thorough, but the fact that the gentleman could not accept this as their issue. His wife did apologize when I initially talked to her, but no apology from the...
