Sail Inn Motel — Hotel in Storm Lake

Here are the facts:

1 - We were charged $20-30 above the advertised rate online. 2 - The showers were always cold. 3 - There were blood stains on the bedding. 4 - We found bed bugs. 5 - The management was unreachable when we found the bed bugs and we had to wait over an hour to get assistance from a teenage kid (who I might add was actually very friendly).

Here is my recommendation:

Only book this motel in Storm Lake, Iowa as a last resort and even then consider sleeping in your vehicle or under a bridge before deciding on the Sail Inn Motel. At least if you do that you will not get infested with bed bugs and you will not feel let down by...

We stayed overnight one night. The room smelled musty. The floor was damp pretty much all over to the point where shoes were necessary. One of the beds had what appeared to be a burn hole (cigarette?) On it. Dead spiders in the shower. I knew we were not getting a super nice motel when I booked it, but for $75 I would expect it to be clean. Outdated I could understand, but this was much worse. The view of the lake is amazing! But when you walk in you immediately smell mildew, in less then a hour or being there our feet were black from the carpets being so dirty. The out let are not safe for kids, it looks like one blew up and was cracked. I had to give my daughter a cold bath and there was very loud music playing from across the river to even enjoy our visit. We were not happy with our stay at all. Not...
