My family and I rented 3 of the 2 room cabins for Aug. 5th-8th for a family gathering/Vacation. When we booked the rooms 2-3 weeks in advance we were told we could rent golf carts upon check in. We showed up at 3 pm on the 5th checked in and asked about golf carts, none were available. This resort is close to 3 miles long with the pools at opposite ends, so we figured no big deal, 60 dollars a night for carts were kinda pricey anyway, we had a pickup that could transport the 12 of us around the resort. Ive been to every Campground in Gettysburg and am a member at Gettysburg Battlefield Resort, Never had an issue of riding in the back of a truck at 5-10 mph. Well we loaded in to go to the front and buy our wristbands for the slide at the other end of the resort, halfway there we were stopped by an employee in a golf cart saying we cant ride in the bed of the truck. We said ok and continued til we got to the office. He followed us and got Bert, the manager involved, he said it was against company policy, I said Ok. Well he insisted on getting in my face to lecture me, I asked to see it in writing because it wasnt in their extensive rule list, He said hes the manager and can make any rule he wants at any time, then went to the back and handwrote it on a Map of the campground. So i cooled down and walked the mile back to our site. After pool time my kids were riding their bikes in front of our cabins, they did not have helmets on, neither did 80% of the other kids in the resort. They again approached us with a nasty attitude to lecture us. Sunday comes, my 75 year old Grandfather drove the kids to the pool, on his way back to the site the same guy in the cart yelled at him to slow down, he was going 10 mph as posted, he didnt slow down because he wasnt speeding, the guy followed him back to the site and started lecturing, My grandfather proceeded to tell him to F off and stop targeting us. The employee then stated he had 1 hour to leave the resort or the Cops would remove him, although they couldnt provide a reason except disrespect. The Police came and he was made to leave. The resort has huge potential, its really nice but Mangaement and Rude employees ruin it. We spent 1500.00 on 3 nights at 3 cabins, Waterslide passes, and wood that is priced at 7 dollars then they charge more because its an old sign and got treated like criminals. So unless you like being followed by ignorant employees, Picked on for every little thing positive, and getting thrown out with no refund if you defend yourself id find another resort. Gettysburg Campground and Battlefield Resorts are both Viable options. Bert told me clearly that even if his employees are wrong he must defend them, Thats because they follow his lead as being as ignorant as possible to...

We had an unfortunate experience. The bath houses could have and should have been cleaner, and most of the time were out of toilet paper, paper towel, and the grout had quite a bit of mold. The office staff could have and should have been friendlier. Most of the campers were friendly, but we did unfortunately find out that if you're a seasonal camper you get special privilege to break the rules. There was an incident involving 5-6 younger campers (whom were seasonal and or have been at this campground quite otfen). The 3 boys who couldn't have been much older then 13 at the most were throwing rocks into the pool, they were violently throwing a softer soccer ball in the pool and hit a little boy (who couldn't have been older then 2 or 3) in the face with the ball. When we went to the office to let them know what was going on and that these children did not have adult supervision at the pool, which the sign clearly stated you must be at least 14 to be unsupervised. The one little girl who clearly knew they were in the wrong jumped up and quick call their mother to come to the pool. The office said thanks for letting them know and they would have security come down. When security got to the pool a ball was taken from another family who had nothing to do with what was going on yet the children that were causing the issues were allowed to keep their ball, because their mother was there at that point and said that they were just children having fun with a soft ball. The children then lied to their mother and the security guard ( who they clearly knew) about what had happened, and when the children finally did admit to hitting a small child with the ball the kids, their mother, and the security guard brushed it off. Stating because the young child didn't cry and it was a softer ball then it was ok. Our family was so upset with the fact that the office and the security guard did nothing about this that we left early, because we did not feel comfortable staying where it was ok for a family to endanger other campers and their family and nothing would be done about it. At the vary least the employees should have found out who the younger child was and made sure they were ok and the children causing the issues should have been asked to leave the pool for the rest of the night. This however did not happen. While we were packing up to leave because of the issue that wasn't handled, the same children causing issues walked by our site and stopped by the dumpsters with the security guard and watched us and our family as we packed to leave, as if we were the ones causing problems. I would highly think twice about staying here. We were vary upset with...

We have come now on 3 separate occasions to spend time with seasonal family. We have always liked drummer boy in the past, however this time things have changed. The waterslide & hot tub were closed for the season, our granddaughter was very upset not to use the slide. The pool behind office is in major disrepair and cause injuries to campers. Its a shame the waterfalls are gone. We stayed in the cottages. They were clean enough for the stay, but plumbing could use some maintenance. 1 toilet clogged regularly, maybe something wrong with the pipes, the fridge was large & in charge for a stay of 4 people. That was great, but seemed over compensating, compared to The 2nd cottage had a very small dorm fridge for 8 people. So barely any space for cold items. Had to buy coolers to accommodate food & drinks for the crew. A larger fridge would be ideal for more people in cottage than for small crew cottage a dorm fridge would be more suitable. Cottage 6 had an amazing mattress, but cottage 4 had the worst. The floor would be more comfortable. Needless to say we did not sleep well and had body aches for our whole stay. Some cottages have no parking for your vehicle, so I feel it forces you to rent a golf cart to get around when it should be choice. You have to park you vehicle far from your sight which is incredibly inconvenient. Some areas around the cottages with no car parking space can be cleared out to make room for your vehicle. Some rules regarding pets are not enforced. A large dog of 3 dogs jumped fencing clearly designed for 5lbs dogs not 50lb or larger, not secured with a leash & no owner on site came after my granddaughter walking our dog. Thankfully no dog fights ensued, but my granddaughter was traumatized by the incident thinking a fight was about to happen. Due to no trust in pet owners being responsible she can no longer walk our dogs here alone. Sight 19. Yup i just threw the owner under the bus. The activities are fun, but could use more creative thinking considering the cost of nightly stays. I gave 5 starts for the employee, always very gracious and accommodating to camper’s needs. Thank you for that. The rest i gave low stars for...

Maybe it used to be decent, but it's very poorly maintained. During our five night stay, the waterslide was broken for two days, the hot tub was broken the entire week. The contractor that runs the pool in the back of the campground is very rude. The RV site was decently level, but we had a nice view of the neighbors sewer hookup (about 10 feet away). Very close to highway 15, and lots of road noise. Wifi was paid and awful ($15/week and speed was between 300 kbps and up to 5 Mbps. very spotty and streaming was difficult). The campstore, arcade and mini golf closes at 6pm on weekdays. The arcade was dirty. The bathroom near the arcade had a hole in the floor and was rotting. Mainly gravel roads, which make riding bikes difficult, lots of dust too. We were in the 300 section and had to drive to the front. Bring a golf cart. The mini golf was okay but watch for poison ivy and mosquitos. I mean clean it up, it's overgrown with weeds. The playground is pitiful. There are three swings, but two are for babies. The old movie theater is boarded up. Very little for young kids to do, must be 48" tall to even do the waterslide. I talked to the front desk to voice my concerns politely and they promised to have a manager contact me...never did, but they did leave timeshare advertisements at our site. It's packed on the weekends, we ended up trip home early, but honestly wanted to stay somewhere else the first day. Waste of $400.

We went to the campground to celebrate the father in-law's 60th birthday. They had gone to the "Drummer Boy" campground a few times while growing up, so it was a fitting place. Seeing we had some small children and wanted a hub to cook out from, we rented one of the larger cabins to stay out of. Cabin was mostly clean, but we came across some areas that needed cleaning attention that were missed. The biggest problem that we had were the neighbors while we were there. There was a religious get together in the cabin circle and the campers didn't seem like they had done much camping before. We were annoyed by the constant barrage of flashlights and car headlight activity for the two nights we stayed. Could have used some blackout shades on the windows near the roadside. The campground is very spread out and large. Our end was quiet but I've heard that of you stay by the far end (near the waterslide pool) that you will hear nothing but highway all night. Lots to do, but seemed a bit lacking for toddlers. I will say that our daughter did love the shallow pool. Not a bad experience but also not a great one. Keep it in the consideration book for down the road.

This campground needs attention in several areas. Our cabin was mostly clean, except for the bathroom... ring in the toilet, mold near the shower. The kitchen has nice amenities (which is the only reason I gave this review 2 stars), however the fridge doesn't operate properly, either freezing things or not cooling at all. Although there are quiet hours, no one seems to enforce them, so our neighbors partying loudly at midnight while their children ran around the pond trying to catch and terrorize bullfrogs went untamed. The camp provides linens for the beds, but other than the twin bed, the fitted sheets didn't fit. We didn't use it on the full beds at all. The pool was clean. There's no staff supervising the area, so there were plenty of adults getting drunk in the pool while their children did whatever. The bathhouse near our site had two bathroom stalls shut down. The showers were clean, but overall the bathhouse needs to be upgraded. There's way better campgrounds to go to in south central PA.
