We stayed here from 9-27 to 9-29. While the cabin itself had potential, it did need some care. We first noticed that the screen on the door of Cabin 3 was sticking out in place, scratching us every time we came in and out of the cabin. Not a big deal, we just had to watch that we didn’t scratch ourselves when we came in and out. Once inside, the cabin was clean, but in the higher places (the ceiling fan, the corner of doorways, light fixtures on the walls) had cobwebs. The main bed was highly uncomfortable. It seemed like it was made out of plastic. My husband and I both struggled to get comfortable. Our daughter loved that there were bunk beds, but ultimately she decided to sleep on the little love seat in the main room because her bed was also uncomfortable to her. But the worse part, and this is no one’s fault, was the hornets that lived on the porch. We killed one before we went to dinner, and when we came back, there were two more that we noticed. They liked to be around the door. My husband and daughter are both allergic, so we had to make a late night trip to Walmart to get wasp killer. We hope there was only three, and the camp ground was made aware of them, so hopefully, the hornets are gone for good. ||I know that seems like this is just a negative review, but there were some great qualities too. The campground was really easy to find. It was close to everything we wanted to see/do. And while we didn’t spend much time there besides to sleep, we did notice that there was a ton of activities going on at the campground for their Friendsgiving event. The other visitors and the staff were all super friendly too! ||All in all, while we didn’t love the cabin, we wouldn’t be opposed to giving this campground another shot in future, it just might be when we get our...
Read moreI contacted Drummer Boy camping resort to book a campsite for the evening since their website made it impossible to book a site for that current day. I was handed off to a call center for all trails. The lady told me their systems were down and got me a campsite after several mins. She charged me a total of 86 dollars for one night. I then asked information like site number and she told me it would all be available in an email. Fast forward 3 hours I’m getting ready to leave. I check my email and to my disbelief no email from the campground. I call back yet again and get redirected to Shane with all trails. I explained to Shane my problem and after several mins of not being able to find me he was able to locate my info. I simply inquired about a discount for the less than easy time making a reservation. Shane placed me on hold and then came back stating that he would not give me a discount. I then asked to speak with a manager and he stated there was no manager yet he just asked someone to get me a discount. I would highly recommend one of the other many campgrounds Gettysburg has to offer as this place is terrible with customer service and I def will not be returning myself. Def want...
Read moreOur experience from the time we arrived to check in was horrible. The young man that was there to check us in, was very rude, unprofessional, and didn’t handle the situation very well at all. There was confusion about our reservation because we were former employees of ELS, which is the company who owns drummer boy, and instead of trying to help us work out the situation we had to leave and find a place to place for the night and return the next day to speak to the manager. Needless to say we were shocked and not one person called us ahead of time to talk about our reservation. We even paid the balance on the phone two days prior to arriving and again nothing was said to us about our reservation. ||We went back the next day and spoke with the manger and we still wound up paying over $1,000 more to stay. We would have gotten a hotel except this was a trip home to see family and friends and our car was filled with food for 10 days and presents for our 10 grandchildren. No room in a hotel for all of that. We were stuck! Never going there again! We will stay elsewhere...
