We stayed at Sugar RV park in Sugar City, ID for the month of June 2021.
The location is the main reason we chose Sugar RV Park and we weren't disappointed. Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Craters of the Moon & Mesa Falls made great day trips for our family!
It's a pretty basic RV park (no pool, playground, laundry, bathrooms etc.) so the monthly rate was a little high in our opinion, but we enjoyed our stay regardless.
It's located right off the highway and right next to an industrial park which was random, but fairly quiet considering. The grounds were very clean and you could tell the long term stays really took care of their sites. There is also a GREAT little bike trail with a bridge over a stream to a picnic area (by the Sheriff's office) very close by that our kids loved going to each day.
Making the reservation was fairly simple (though on the phone they seemed a little off-putting) , they sent us the invoice and were texted the day of arrival from our camp host, Jim. He met us at the entrance, guided us to our pull through site and made sure we had everything we needed all month. He even was gracious enough to drive us to the repair shop when our truck needed a fix one day.
Full hook ups were good, our surge protector wouldn't stay in the electrical box so we went without for the month with no issues. Cell service wasn't great, but we made due while working remotely.
Rexburg has a Walmart less than 5 minutes away, and bigger stores like Costco, Target, Home Improvement stores are 25minutes away in Idaho Falls.
We highly recommend staying at Sugar RV park. We were sad to say goodbye to this campground & if we're ever back in Idaho we'll be sure...
Read moreGreat little stopover spot. CampHosts are very nice, the coupon for Ole's was awesome. We might have missed that place otherwise, the burgers there are HUGE!
Couple of full timers in there with nice folks, didn't get to chat it up too much when were there but it was HOT! So didn't get outside in the park much (but they can't control the weather), spent our free time at Yellowstone and some of the camp-hosts recommended places while we were there.
Felt like a safe park, not too much to it. Spots were a little tight, not too much outdoor space, but not bumper to bumper either. We have a high energy dog and they have a bit of a grass area for immediate needs, but not much area to walk right there, unless you walk the street for a bit. But if you load em up in the car, heritage park in town is maybe 2 min drive and lots of room over there. I'd imagine same for kids, probably not a lot to do right there, but that heritage park a few minutes away had playground area and lots of activities going on with a little baseball field, playground area, etc...
Would be nice if they had a laundry or something nearby, its a little bit of drive for that aspect. But Walmart and other basic stuff is not too far away (~10min). Definitely not a resort type place, but nice people, good hosts, clean and quiet...
Read moreThis is a nice, quiet Park near sugar City Idaho which is near Rexburg. It's an hour and a half away from Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. You can get to a lot of stuff from here. Even though it is close to highway 20, you don't really hear much traffic. The people who run the place are exceptionally kind and easy to get along with. The laundry set up is beautiful modern, $8 for both washing and drying, pay virtually with your phone, no need for quarters LOL. The dog area is lovely and grassy and clean. There's plenty of space between sites although there are no trees, I think little ones are on their way to becoming big ones. The only glitch here is the GPS getting in here, and when you start to arrive they send you an email that has instructions on it but the street names around here are so crazy.. North 5th East, for example, and you can't read them if you're in a tall motorhome, and Google GPS kept taking us in circles. So my advice is to look at a map before you arrive, maybe even...
