My wife had previously stayed.at a Red Roof Inn and had had a Good Experience but not this time. When we got here and my wife checked in and got the key card's for the room.we.went and tried the.key card's it would not open the door. Then we got a maintenance man who tried and he couldn't get in.then he changed the batteries out in the door and it still didn't work so he decided to knock on the door this room was occupied already. Went back to the front desk and she said that laundry said it was empty and she marked it off in the system. Then I got another room but it was right next door to the room they were working in and it sounded like they were in our room. Anyway there were open spaces at the door. We were going to leave to get something to eat so I tried the key card's again in the door it turned green but would not open the door. So I went back to the front desk again and this time I am already Frustrated and I tell the lady at the front desk that the door will not open with the key card's. We Finally changed room again to a different building in the back that was a smoking room (that my wife had Originally booked on line) but we not.booked into when we arrived here. Then my wife turns the TV on and we only have 1 channel and the Rest of the remote control does not work. Then I go back to the front office again. I explain that the remote control does not work and I do not want to just watch the same channel all night. She grabs another remote control for the TV and comes back to the room with me and she gets it to work for us. I Do appreciate the help on this. From what my Wife told me that the woman at the front desk said that they just bought this property and it used to be the Hampton Inn and they are working on it but it does need a lot of work to get.it back up and running properly. Thank goodness I didn't want to go swimming because the water was green. From our experience I will never ever be back to Any Red Roof Inn...
Read moreThe hotel looks lovely in the photos, but don't let them stick you out in the back building, which is less well maintained. We got 2 rooms for the whole family during a cross-country trek, and it was not a good time.
Also beware of being disabled, and being placed in a second floor room in a building with only stairs! Don't know how they didn't get that logged into the reservation, but by the time we arrived they were sold out, and could not move us.
It also has a super creepy sliding glass door to a "balcony" that is a continuous strip across all the rooms! The patio door has a simple lock, as such doors do, which is nothing like the security of a hotel room door's locks.
When we arrived, the decorative "comforter" bit across the end of the bed on one room was so gross it was actually sticky. Of course we were removing it anyway, but we didn't even want to touch it!
Otherwise, beds were adequate, and the room was as expected. Funny side note - the toilet flush is really loud, and goes on for a really long time!
When we came down for breakfast around 8am, the buffet was very poorly stocked. Hot food was gone, slim pickings elsewhere. A few minutes later the attendant returned, and began to cook/heat and restock. The delay was not ideal, but he was very helpful and pleasant.
The coffee was bitter, and the creamer was also unpleasant, so even those in our crew who like their morning coffee refused it.
Gluten Free selection was extremely limited. If they hadn't happened to have Cheerios, it would have been only yogurt, since there was not even any fresh fruit out. I am not "faulting" them for this, since they make no claims about having Gluten Free food - just adding the information in case someone else needs it.
I wouldn't stay here again, primarily because I don't feel like I could trust the reservation to properly place me in a better building, on the...

The pillows are not very practical, not even standard size and so soft they give no support, but we always bring our own so that wasn't a problem. Had to move the alarm clock for plug access and the plug we moved it to would randomly stop working, but we didn't need it, so also not a problem all the other plugs seemed to be just fine. The TVs are not the greatest even though they are flat screens. We sometimes had a 2 inch border around the picture when watching certain channels and the HBO channels were a bit distorted/stretched when watching sometimes. TV programing was great though, lots of premium movie channels.
The beds are actually very comfortable and I slept probably the best I've slept away from home in a long time. Our AC unit was very good, would cool the room down quickly and worked great without too much noise. The staff are all extremely welcoming and friendly. Really liked the shower head and had nice hot water. The room was very quiet, even being so close to the interstate. The Sundance Room bar on the property was fun with friendly people, but very smoky so beware. They have karaoke on Thursday nights with a great DJ. Standard continental breakfast fare of cereal, breads, precooked sausage, scrambled eggs and biscuits. Loved the Texas shaped waffles and the 24hr coffee service with really good coffee and real half n half!
Overall I would not hesitate to stay again for the excellent guest hospitality. It's not the best hotel out there, but for the price I think it...
