Mountain Escape Chalet — Hotel in Summersville

Really an amazing place!! We came here for a mini March vacation and the house was perfect. The indoor area was so cozy with a really cool automatic fireplace, a well-designed kitchen, and comfortable beds and couches. There were portable heaters throughout the house but we ended up not even needing them because of how well the fireplace heating system worked (weather was 30s-70s while we were there).

The outdoor porch area is honestly perfect. It has the trifecta of a hot tub, a nice grill, and a gas fire table which made it such a fun place to spend time. The house faces the sunrise so we gently woke each morning to a beautiful sunrise over the mountains and tree tops. There is also a lot of easy hiking to drive to and a local ice cream place that's delicious.

When we first arrived there was a little snag with the internet but the host fixed it immediately and we were able to stream movies just fine (with a little extra buffer time than usual, but not a big deal).

I cannot recommend this...

Nice place. Very steep and bumpy driveway. Low profile cars would have a hard time getting here. Hot tub was sparkling clean. Had an issue with the code to get in but Doug returned the call and got us in within 15 minutes. Stairs for bedrooms are steep too. Great view from front deck. Enjoyed the fire ring. Nice living room area too. Low water pressure. Overall we were happy and would return. The area is beautiful. Doug was great to work with. Would be a perfect score but if you are older or have physical issues ( back problems) it may be hard to get bounced around in the driveway and the stairs for the bedrooms might be difficult for you....

First off, Summersville Lake is a great place for a family vacation the bonus is Mountain Escape Chalet! The owners are wonderful people and truly care that your stay, at their property, is all that you expect. I've been here 3 years in a row with my family and each time we leave we can't wait until we can come back! Easy access, close to shopping, close to dinning, and only a quarter mile from the lake!
