We made a reservation to camp here for Fathers Day weekend because we thought it would be fun for our family to be able to experience watching a movie on an old drive in theater screen but we started to regret this decision before even checking. What I mean by this is the camp host chastised me for parking my truck in the wrong spot while checking in (I pulled into the parking lot instead of leaving my truck in the middle of the driveway). After checking in the First thing we regretted about the actual campground was not doing more research about the camp sites which was my fault. I would say the camp sites were small but that would be understatement. The sites are a tiny cement pad barely big enough for 2 lawn chairs but I guess that really doesn’t matter because there is nothing to sit outside for because the campground doesn’t allow any campfires. The biggest complaint I had is that the campground is over half full of intermixed full time residents who were super grumpy and not kid friendly at all. In fact, when we were packing up to leave I heard some yelling so I looked over to see one of the full time residents cussing out my 10 year old boy for walking through an empty campsite that was behind her trailer. I thought that this could have been just a one off thing except later that evening after we were home I got a phone call from the manager telling me that I needed to teach my children proper camping etiquette. As for the movie experience, that was nowhere near a family friendly experience either. Both movies (Armageddon and Deep Impact) had sexual content and tons of cussing in them. After realizing this we tried to avoid them by staying in our campsite but the audio was played so loud that we could hear the cussing in our trailer. It was a lot of fun explaining to my 6 year old what some of those words meant. I gave 2 stars because part of the bad experience was my fault for not doing enough research before making reservations. So, in my opinion if you have kids DO NOT CAMP HERE! If you don’t, maybe you will have a better experience than me, but unless you like being...
Read moreFabulous RV Park! We stayed for the month of April 2021 and were sad to say goodbye when it was time to go.
Reserving our spot was easy and they were very helpful in answering any questions we had before arriving. Upon arrival they decided that our rig might be a bit big for the spot assigned so they gave us a site a few spots down the row with no problem. Easy to pull through the spot with our 28ft fifth wheel and no problems with hookups. They even gave us a few free wine tasting vouchers for wineries in the area. (Wouldn't recommend Cooper Ridge Vineyard as they were on the rude side for service).
The patios and furniture provided was such a nice addition and it was such a cool experience having them show movies multiple times a week (free popcorn too!). Our kids loved the playground, playing PacMan and foosball in the clubhouse, and buying ice cream at the office occasionally. The campground WiFi was average, and the cell coverage for Verizon, AT&T and T-mobile were pretty good.
The spots are fairly close together and parking our truck was a bit of a challenge with the limited space in front of our RV. You could occasionally hear the road noise, but for the most part the park is very quiet and super close to everything you need in town. The town of Roseburg has a Costco, Walmart,Home Depot/Lowes, and an Emergency room if needed.
The sites are gravel and the staff was really good at adding new rocks to each site between guests. The noise of their tractor spreading the rocks was an awful, loud noise but thankfully they were able to get that done in the afternoons mostly.
We can't recommend Hi-Way-Haven enough. Their clean, well run park, with friendly staff and nice amenities won us over & if we're ever back in the area, we won't hesitate...
Read moreAbsolutely loved this place, staff are incredible. As a disabled person I found them very accommodating and helpful wherever possible. They have both campsites and a couple Air b&b cabins/mobiles and all the front rows where I stayed had fantastic little patios designed with the perfect angle for watching the movies and sitting by a campfire. They provide fire rings and propane tanks.
It does list frisbee golf as if it has a course, I think it has 2 holes it is not much and was a little disappointing as I feel they have the space to put in a decent course which would help with more activity - I've only ever seen it at one other campground and it was a good draw.
The star of the show though has to be the resurrected drive-in movie screen with the updated digital screen which is incredible picture looks crystal clear in person! What a blast of nostalgia and to be able to do at a campground is a real treat. I'm a bit of an aficionado of drive-ins I've been to them all over the western US and Canada as well as some back in eastern Canada, I make a point to go to them all over while traveling. They all have something special in my opinion but there really is something pure bliss nostalgia about sitting at the drive in theater while camping and eating s'mores by the fire 👌
I will definitely be back,...
