Unique and easy check in and check out process. It is an electronic key retrieval kiosk just inside the main entrance. It was simple to operate and problem free. We never saw the owners as we never had a reason to reach out to them. ||The hotel grounds are kept clean as is the inside of the motel. It offers a safe and well lit parking lot. ||The hallways were clean and well lit. There were other guests staying. However, we never heard them. Our room had a comfortable bed, thicker than usual motel towels, a fridge, microwave and coffee pot. All were clean as was the room including the baseboards. Housekeeping obviously uses a crevice tool. Something even high end hotels seem to be without training on. The motel sits just off the main road on a well maintained golf course. ||Sutton is a town of about 1,500 people. It is the epitome of small town Nebraska.....a beautiful downtown mural, cute park, all the locals smile and wave at you, a church on nearly every corner and every house is flying an American flag! It's a cute little place which makes me long to return to small town living. The Trail Inn is a nice addition to this small town and offers a clean, safe and comfortable place to stay. ||I'm giving this quaint little gem an excellent rating. However, a tip to the motel to avoid super picky guests giving a negative review....be sure to hand clean under the toilet rim. Your brushes aren't getting the job done. This is something very commonly overlooked even in expensive big city hotels. Otherwise, no improvements needed. This is an ideal resting spot to lay your head if you are ever passing through Sutton, NE....

Discovered The Trail Inn in Sutton via the internet when in need of accommodations for a family function in Hastings and finding no rooms at any central Nebraska inns due to Husker Harvest Days. Based upon great reviews by previous guests, thought we’d take a chance. I was not disappointed! Albeit a bit nervous about ‘ghost’ hotel staff and self check-in, the entire process went flawlessly. Our guest room was nicely decorated, very comfortable, and quiet. Suffice it to say, we were very pleased with the property and highly recommend it when passing through Sutton and in need of an above-average, price-friendly place to spend the night. Honestly, it was at first startling to not have someone at the front desk, but I accidentally locked my key in my room twice during my stay, and I was helped within seconds each time (noticeably more reliable and speedy service than many small town motels). Oddly enough, I feel like I'd prefer not having a front desk person to engage with in motels, now that I've seen how clean they can keep the place.

For those on vacation, fairly ideal enough spot right off the highway that runs through town, along with a very close golf course.

Would recommend to anyone needing a place to get a little shut eye, for work...
