We were in town for a soccer tournament and there was a VERY limited choice of hotels as I was late in making reservations, so I was a bit cornered in making a reservation for this hotel. In the context of paying $214 for an overnight stay here, I was VERY disappointed with the experience that we had here with my family. The hotel facilities and property were dirty and not well-kept. The carpets were dirty in the hallways, the overall cleanliness of the facility was poor. In terms of the room, it too was dirty. The showers were not cleaned well and the tub stop was broken, so the tub filled with a shower and had to be manually drained. The mirrors were not cleaned and had swipes of something on them. The overall room appearance was dirty and NOT cleaned to what I would have expected. There was no toilet paper in the bathroom. We had a reservation for a family of 4 and there were 2 towels and 1 washcloth. I made a request to have additional towels delivered to take a shower and was told to find the housekeeper on the floor as there were no towels to disseminate from the front desk. I found the housekeeper and he expressed he had no more towels or washcloths to share, but did give us 2 towels to use for the moment after I communicated a slight sense of urgency. The room had a very nauseating and bitter smell to it. My son asked me to go buy Febreeze because it smelled like bug spray (which it did), which made me even more concerned in terms of bugs possibly being an issue there. The room did not smell or "feel" clean. The morning breakfast that was provided was poor as they offered muffins, a cheese danish, or a fruit cup. There was no milk. There was a juice (apple and orange) and a coffee machine with almost Dixie-sized cups to drink from. This has been the first time I've had a poor hotel experience, as a decently well-versed traveler. I wanted to post this to advise others to exercise caution in choosing this property. I would have perhaps been in a different headspace if I paid $45-100/ night... but was way overcharged for the poor experience that was provided as a consumer at this property. As far as customer service, there was nothing to rave about on this end either to somewhat compensate for the property appearance and lack of cleanliness. The morning desk person was not kind, nor friendly when asked where the "breakfast" was. I would suggest that the Wyndham company take a gander to "clean" things up at this property a bit. Poor representation of a decent company. I would argue that this property earned a 3.9 star rating, at this for the current state...
Read moreVERY POORLY TRAINED STAFF. POOR COMMUNICATION. DO NOT RELY ON THEIR SHUTTLE SERVICE. The rooms were to be expected, well kept, and nicely furnished. The interior of the lobby has been recently updated and welcoming. However, I picked this place and location specifically for the shuttle service to the airport. The front desk person on duty when I checked in was not well trained and had very poor communication skills. I tried to schedule my shuttle service with him, and he told me that he didn't have anyone for the service. I then told him that it was the only reason why I booked this hotel and came with the reservation. He then asked me to show him, which I should not have to begin with, yet I did show him. He continued to tell me that he didn't have anyone to do so. I asked him to call a manager, and he responded with not wanting to call a manager because he would get fired. I said I needed the issue resolved this evening as I fly out in the morning. He asked me to come back at 11 pm. when the next person would come in. I didn't want to be up that late, but I waited in panic that I wouldn't have a ride in the morning, and it's difficult to get Uber out there. I spoke to the night shift that came on, and she took care of it, or so I thought. She was a very nice, well-mannered, and informed lady named Mindy who could communicate well; she also informed me that the other person was new, so I felt like I would not give a bad review at that time.
Then, in the morning, I came down to the lobby for my shuttle to the airport at 8:55 am, and no one was at the front desk. I called and rang the bell, but no one came. Again, I started to panic as I stood waiting for over 15 minutes. Finally, a gal came in the front door and asked if I was Michelle, I said that I was, but I was supposed to leave 10 minutes earlier. She responded that she had to take some other people to the airport first. I began to follow her, but she was not heading toward the shuttle van. She said we were taking her car because she did not know how to drive the shuttle van; my two very large suitcases barely fit in her car.
This is EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL! Unacceptable!
I almost missed my check-in cut-off time for my luggage and my flight. This could have easily been remedied if she were trained well and taken the entire group together in the shuttle van. Additionally, during the 30 minutes or so, while this gal was taking me and the previous group to the airport, there wasn't anyone attending the front desk to assist the...
Read moreCheck in was fine but went downhill from there. Room appeared clean/quiet so we left for the event we were in town for. Got back about 12:30am and went to shower; found mouse poop on the bathroom floor in both corners behind the toilet. Was too tired to drive 1.5 hours back home so decided to just stay. Beds were as soft as bricks with weirdly small pillows. But then at 5am the hallway smoke detector outside our door started to malfunction and go off. Called the front desk--no actual fire--and she tried to disarm it several times. The alarm kept going on/off for another half hour. We just dressed and checked out at that point after only 5 hours in the room and zero sleep. The same attendant then refused to give us a refund saying we'd have to drive back down after 2pm to talk to the manager. We just left at that point. Called the 800# for corporate at 11am just to be told they can't issue a refund either, saying some nonsense about their hotels being franchise. Would have to wait over a week to maybe get my $96 back.
I haven't slept in over 24hrs as I type this. Disgusting/older building with obvious pest issues, cheap/hard mattresses with pillows that are oddly small, faulty fire alarms, and ridiculously bad customer service. These are all things that the franchise owner can fix but chooses not to.
Worst hotel experience I've ever had. Will never use...
