Grabbed a one night permit at the village and backroads up to the camp site for a night of winter camping. Nice location and plenty of room! Outhouse available if needed. One thing to remember is that the Pine Barrens is all sand. Behaves like a desert. As soon as the sun went down you can feel the heat quickly leave the ground and it gets several degrees colder there than the surrounding areas of NJ. Plus the water on the edge of the camp site provides plenty of dampness so in cold weather bring an extra layer.
