If you’re Hispanic avoid this place because they don’t like our kind of “people”. Have been camping and floating at war eagle for these past 3 years. Never have had any issues until this weekend. We decided to book a weekend camping and floating trip with my family. First issue is my parents paid 50 dollars, 25 for the entrance and 25 for the float deposit. The next day when we were gonna float she noticed that the lady in the entrance had took off the float deposit tag when she had checked in and so we went to tell the front desk people about it because we were gonna float. One of the front desk ladies was REALLY Rude and racist. We are Hispanic and she said “it’s always the same issue with your type of people, you guys always do them same thing” in a rude way then made a remark about my daughter floating questioning her age and trying to argue with me when obviously I wouldn’t lie about the age of my daughter, and I told her that’s her age? lol why would I lie and she said “ok I’ll see about that I’ll make a note about it” so I was like okay whatever. After that we went floating and keep in mind we picked up our stuff from the camp ground, and our truck was parked outside the camp ground. there was other families by our camp site that were Hispanic. When we got back from our float trip she was harrasing the other Hispanic people there and was saying things like “your type of people always do this” and yelling at them and mocking them for not understanding English. We decided to get off our raft and talk to her because they weren’t understanding and she was making faces at them and still yelling at them. She proceeded to tell us that we were up all night and had kids running around the area. I only have a 2 year old daughter and we went to sleep at 9:40 maybe 10. There was other people up during that time but it was not my husband or me or my daughter and let alone letting her run around, my parents were up but we never had anyone complain and never got a curfew time. There was other kids but we were camping next to them and we never saw them do anything she was claiming they were doing. If there was issues with noises or stuff then why did they never tell them at night when it was happening. She then told us we had to pay another 70 dollars because the check out was at 12 but we got back from rafting at 2, and either way our stuff was already picked up besides the other peoples. Which they were fine in paying but why go out of your way and be freaking rude to people and on top of that be racist. There was also other Mexican families in the river and she was always being racist to them and rude but I never once saw her go off on white people. All I’m gonna say is If you hate your job so bad then quit lady!! AND the bathrooms were disgusting 🤮 maybe she should be cleaning the bathrooms instead of running...

Our family and friends have been floating with War Eagle for 14 plus years. We bring a crowd of at least 30 people and rent the bunk houses and rafts every Memorial Day Weekend. This Year (2013) the security guard came at the usual 11 pm quiet time to tell us to turn off our music and be quiet. As always, we complied and settled in to visit with family and friends. At 11:30 the security guard came back to tell us we NEEDED to go to bed!!!! Because we all travel long distances to get to Oklahoma, most of us had just gotten there, and were visiting. The bunk houses are not designed for luxury comfort, although they cost 200 dollars a night, sleeping is not the reason we go to War Eagle. Because we didn't go to bed, the security guard called the State Police, a Ranger and a County Deputy!!!! Once again we had to defend our reason for enjoying visiting and not going to bed!! The next night the security guard was rude and harrassing again....our group was never loud, we complied with the rules and paid 2000.00 dollars to be harrassed!! NEVER GO TO WAR EAGLE RESORT to enjoy family, or clean rooms, or freedom of harrassing 80 year old security guards with little man syndrome. WE WILL NEVER GO BACK, and I don't want this to happen to any other family or group. Go To a more accomodating facility. The booking person (Joyce) also has no customer service skills. Once you have paid....than she doesn't care how you are treated, or that toilets don't work..or that there was a knife fight at their campgrounds!! They harrass the people they know they can push around and who abide by the rules....14 plus years and this was an ATROCITY that was never corrected or even addressed. Joyce only wants to argue with...

This was my second time at War Eagle Resort. I have not stayed at any of the other nearby campgrounds for comparison. The staff was friendly. We only primitive camped and floated the river, so I cannot comment on other aspects of the resort.

The place we like to set up camp was roped off with a sign that said "Saturdays only". I do wish the front office had told us that when we checked in; we told them exactly where we planned to set up our tents and they were like, "That's a great spot! Lots shade!" but nothing about the site being closed during the week.

There was trash everywhere when we arrived. Many dumpsters, but all were overflowing and smelly. Animals had dragged some trash out. This was a Monday so I can't really fault the campground; the busy weekend had just finished. And the trash was all picked up by late afternoon. But maybe they could put out some more dumpsters to avoid overflow. We did have raccoons traipsing around at all hours of the night.

I appreciated having a bathhouse as opposed to using the portopotties around the camp. Bathhouse was by no means fancy, but it was obvious they are cleaned daily and it was nice to be able to take a shower.

The float trip was great. The people checking us in and the driver were friendly. They provide the rafts, paddles, and life vests. You bring the beer and snacks and tunes. Then just take your time and enjoy the trip.

$20 per car per night to primitive camp, which seems kinda high. Rafting was $28.50/person. It was a pricy trip but we all enjoyed it and will definitely go back to War...

Really enjoyed our stay. Campground is almost secluded. Very quiet. Definitely not a party place filled with folks of questionable behavior. Bring your kids, family and friends for great fun! Be sure to bring your pit as they have bundles of seasoned wood priced reasonably. Make sure to open them all the way because they provide the kindling so you'll have no trouble building your camp fire. Roasted hotdogs and marshmallows are sure to help creat fun memories you'll talk about for years to come. The 6 mile trip was perfect for us. We played in/on various interesting spots along the way. With several side puddles to explore for tadpoles, cool rocks and something called rock art (a way of stacking river rocks and pebbles into cool formations) built and left by other river goers as gifts that are certain to entertain kids of all ages. **When reserving your stay, be sure to take note of who you spoke to and for what price. We were quoted one price and billed another price after making the 3 hour drive it was too late to argue about it as we had already paid the deposite up front. Make sure to include things like total vehicles and inquire about friends or family that may want to visit you during your trip. It's all available for an extra fee.** Our party consisted of 1 RV, 1 tent and two vehicles.

When you float at War Eagle you won’t be disappointed. Super friendly staff, great prices, the rooms and bunk houses are super clean. The pool is well maintained as is the sand volleyball court. If you’re camping the bathrooms and showers are clean and well maintained as are the campgrounds. They have security on site during the weekends so there’s no worries about irate guests. The part of the river they float is great! Easy going, plenty of places to pull over and rest or just grab a snack. After floating try fishing at the campgrounds. I’ve always caught something. Over the years I’ve floated every float site on the river and War Eagle is by far the best!
