|WHY I LOVED IT: ||We attended a wedding at the West Shore Cafe & Inn this weekend, and the Lodge at Obexer’s was the perfect location to stay! It is exactly a 0.2 mile walk between both locations. (If you walk on the bike road it is safer and you can keep your dance shoes clean)! ||Their property manager was great at communication. He texted us before our arrival with some check-in instructions and offered to help with recommendations.||The price was great. Although they have a minimum 3 night stay- it was STILL less expensive to do 3 nights than 2 at the other area hotels (By approximately $60) ||The room was clean and basic. All you need if you’re looking for a place to sleep and freshen up between beaching and boating. Although there aren’t all the “hotel” amenities onsite, there are plenty across the street. |||RECOMMENDATIONS:||- Jetski We walked across the street and rented jet-skis from Obexer’s Boat Co. that was super fun, highly recommend. ||- Obexer’s Deli is across the street too. They have premade sandwich’s, liquor, and many other items you may need. Their coffee is good too. ||- Make sure you stop into their shop next door & pick up some good gear! Great hats and T-shirt’s. ||-Check out the Eagle Rock hike down the road (not walking distance). It’s a very short 15 minute hike up to a beautiful look-out point. As long as you’re healthy you should be fine! A lot of elderly people and toddlers on the trail, great family hike. ||-Chambers Landing: for a classic Chamber’s Punch drink & dinner. Make reservations ahead of time, or show up an hour early, put your name on the list, and then wait at the bar. We Uber’ed here. There aren’t many Uber’s available in the area- so wait times are higher, but we didn’t have any issues...
Read moreWe had an amazing stay at Obexers in December 2024! They are sooo accommodating here. They let us stay for two nights when they usually require 3 nights, and they allowed us a late checkout of noon! Small things like this really make it or break it for me with a hotel/lodge/etc. I loved how accessible the hosts were (we had a group chat to communicate anything we needed). Occasionally, you might hear a firetruck or two since it’s near the fire station, but the lodge and room itself is so relaxing and quiet. Hot water was great, the heating was phenomenal, and the bed was the most comfortable “hotel” bed I’ve ever slept in. It rivaled my bed and mattress at home! I also appreciated the air purifier in the room. Across the street is the cutest deli and little grocery mart right on the water. Love love love Obexers and highly recommend if you’re looking to stay in the...
Read moreCute little lodge pretty central to everything in Homewood and right across from the piers. No fuss with check in, as you get your key from a lock box on the porch with a code that's emailed the day prior to your stay. I appreciated the property manager Aaron texting me on the day of my arrival with reminders and asking if I needed anything. The room was super cute and the stairway up was nicely decorated. There are signs that say to be quiet past 9pm and they're not kidding, the walls are a little thin and we could hear our neighbours a bit, but nothing outrageous, all guests were very respectful of the signs request. Homewood is a cute little quiet town and this lodge fits right in, I'd definitely stay...
