A delightful experience! We live just "down the road" in Santa Fe and visited at the end of August as part of a special event with friends. For your reference, husband and I are in our early 50's. We have zero experience with camper/trailers. I'm 5'2", and he's 5'10". We're fit and active enough, but not super-athletes or backwoods hiker/campers of any kind. We stayed 2 nights in the lovely Sunnie trailer. It's one of the medium sized trailers on the property, about 23' long. It features a full bed on one end, a long sofa/sitting area on the other end, and the kitchen and bath in the middle. Loads of built-in storage drawers for this and that, though we lived out of our small carry-on suitcase with ease. A large wrap-around deck with two sitting chairs is perfect for taking in the stunning Taos mountain views with morning coffee, at sunset, reading a book, etc. The trailer was incredibly clean and while vintage (1950), was in excellent repair. Adorable design. Luna Mystica is a very novel experience with a ton of amenities since these trailers are "permanently docked." Plentiful hot and cold water, refrigerated air conditioning, heaters, a small electric fan, a normal flush toilet, loads of electrical outlets, strong wifi, refrigerator, freezer, microwave, electric cooktop, charcoal grills here and there across the property, and all the basic cookware and dishes you'd need. French press coffee pot - with a supply of ground coffee! for cooking and grilling. Clean towels and sheets, a very decent mattress for a trailer, and perfectly serviceable pillows. Soap, conditioner, moisturizer. No hair dryer, bring your own. I will say that the Sunnie shower is TINY, and I knew I'd cause a flood trying to use it, but there's a solution to that! There are 5 (maybe more?) large bathrooms/shower rooms onsite. They're located at opposite ends of the property, just steps from any of the trailers. Each is a bit different, but all are incredibly convenient, safe (deadbolt lock from inside), and sparkling clean. The largest are rooms that have to be 10'x10' featuring a sink/vanity with mirror, loads of wall hooks, power outlets, a standard toilet, bench for sitting/changing, and a full sized shower. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. Parking is easy and plentiful. They have sturdy wheelie-carts for anything heavy you might need to move from your car to your trailer. The reception office is very modern, complete with large sitting area, and offers all sorts of things for sale from tee shirts and mugs to ramen noodles, sweet treats, beef jerky, power bars, Tylenol, beverages of all sorts (non-alcoholic), firewood, bagged ice, etc. Incredibly dog-friendly property (we didn't bring ours), but please be a good neighbor and make sure yours isn't a barker! Also onsite - a few corn hole games, a book lending library (in a vintage refrigerator), and across the street is a concert venue and outpost of Taos Mesa Brewing (only open on concert nights). Easy 6 minute drive into downtown Taos, over to the Gorge Bridge trailhead/lookout point, or further up to the ski hill. This is not the Four Seasons, but it is seriously well-appointed glamping! It's so cushy, that REAL campers would not call this camping in any way, shape, or form. That said, if you can't survive without room service, sleep on a less-than-5-star mattress, or imagine yourself using a shower like I've described, then maybe this isn't for you. We...

This was our first time staying here. We had the Sundance trailer. Hotel Luna Mystica is truly as cute and charming as people and photos claim. If you’re looking for a unique stay, I would recommend this place. A few things I would recommend for visitors: Bring extra blankets and warm clothes, it can get really cold at night and the space heaters can only do so much. There are no stores close by, so you will want to stop in Taos to get anything you will need. (I would recommend checking the trailer beforehand. They provided cookware like spatulas and a ladle, but zero pans to use on the stove top. The trailer had a microwave though, so we bought food we could cook in that.) Read the full description of the trailers before booking, every trailer is different.

I only gave it four stars due to some of the problems we encountered. I only state these issues in the hopes this will be taken into consideration to improve the stay for future guests. Outside of these incidents, we did enjoy our stay and the trailer was cozy. Upon arrival, the garbages in the trailer were full (one was messy with gross food). We had to request new bags and take out the previous guest’s garbage. To be honest, I was a little annoyed about this due to the fact that we paid a cleaning fee upon booking the trailer. The door on the Sundance trailer does not close properly and leaves a pretty big gap at the bottom. Every night, we would cover up the gaps to prevent bugs/rodents and the cold coming in. It looked like there was an attempt to fix it at one point, but I’m guessing it either couldn’t be done or previous guests have caused the door to warp again due to the next issue. In the morning/early afternoon, the sun shining directly on it would cause the door to expand so much, it would get stuck. It would take a few minutes just to get out. Then, it would take a few minutes to get it closed and locked again if we were leaving the property. We would see other guests open and close their trailer doors with ease, so my recommendation would be if the door can’t be fixed, state it in the description of the trailer so guests are aware before booking. We would have picked a different trailer if we knew the door was going to be such a hassle. The table in the trailer is severely unstable (which is surprising given how the metal legs are “secured” into the floor). We stayed clear of it the rest of our stay after we pulled up chairs to eat dinner and the meal was almost thrown off when one of us rested our arm on the edge of the table. Please warn future guests of this. The trailer has a small fridge/freezer, however, we didn’t use it due to the horrendous smell that came from the freezer. (Thankfully, if the door on the fridge/freezer stayed closed, you couldn’t smell it in the trailer.) We kept things in the cooler we were traveling with instead. We did bring this up to a staff member when we checked out, so I hope it’s addressed and fixed because that smell was insanely bad.

Despite what was stated above, we are thankful to Hotel Luna Mystica for the fun stay, and for the kindness of the staff when we...

Important to note WHICH trailer is being reviewed. We were there at the end of January. My daughter and family rented Apollo, no real problems except that we tried to cook an Egg Benedict birthday breakfast and took our egg poacher, which doesn't work on the "hot plate", which is what they call a stove on their website. The hot plates require a certain type of metal or the hot plates don't work. Therefore we could not use our egg poacher. We like to cook and made sure there was stove option at the hotel. We were also appalled by the flatware; gross.

My husband and I stayed in Dona, it is super small with cloth curtain bathroom door. We would not have stayed there had we known some of the features of Dona but they are not listed. When we arrived in our trailer, we noticed it was heated by 2 space heaters. There is a wall unit but it was on high and barely blowing out heat, which is why 2 additional space heaters are needed, I'm guessing. We did okay the first night but noticed a substantial difference in my daughter's larger Apollo trailer. We went with the flow the first night, thinking it's quaint etc., cuddled under the covers and stayed warm. Second night not so good! After dinner at my daughter's Apollo trailer we walked to Dona and it was freezing cold, maybe more than outside! Went right to bed to stay warm, woke up in middle of night several times because we were freezing, checked the heaters, one had gone off one was barely working and the wall unit was still barely putting out heat. We found another heater in the closet and thought about plugging it in but we didn't know how safe it would be with 3 space heaters, certainly doesn't sound sage. Crawled back in bed and tried to stay warm until 6:30 in the morning. I called my daughter, she called management to no avail. We jumped out of bed got dressed and went to my daughter's trailer. At 8:30, still no one had responded to her about the situation. I walked to the manger's office and described the issues, after a long conversation he said "what would you like me to do"?Honestly! If you don't know, you shouldn't be managing a hotel. We are a 65 and 75 year old couple who froze all night he can't offer anything else? Oh he asked if we had called Patrick....we don't know who Patrick is so why would we call Patrick.

Hotel Luna could do a better job of providing information either on their website or when you check-in to their guests It has glitches, which I get but heat should not be one. They say there are no rules, it is run on respect, how about respecting the guests.

We read the reviews before we made the reservations, all very positive and we were hoping for the same...
